The world: you can't make a banger of a song based on one note Gary Numan: hold my Roland I absolutely love this album. Fantastic piece of brilliance born from a year in isolation. Gary never ceases to amaze
LOL: "Gary Numan: Hold my Roland." Yes indeed! EDIT: Or maybe it should be "Hold my Polymoog." (OK, maybe a few decades ago.) Numan can rock anything, I daresay.
GOD, HOW DOES HE DO IT????? He will be writing anthems that’ll be rocking your grandkids’ playlists when he’s 82. And he’ll probably look the same and be equally relevant then!
Your the reason I fell in love with synths Gary.......ever since I first listened to Down In The Park I was hooked and now I make music too thank you mate for all the years of musical inspiration you gave me keep going Gary you only get better with age like a fine wine cheers
Gary Numan At his best for on this Album He should Get life time Grammy or inducted to the rock n roll hall of fame as how many of those have Come and gone !!! It just gets Better for me this Album yes !!
@@danielpayne500 Yes he should get inducted into the music hall of fame he was a pioneer of early synth music I enjoy every album this artist has made cheers mate
I also a long time fan and musician. I met him at one of his shows. I hung and chatted about gear. Just geeked out. A few weeks later I went on tour, as we loaded into the bus. They’re was a few of his cds He just had been on the bus. So bloody cool.
Rather, he sounds like everybody else! Apart from the (autotuned?) vocals, there is no personality in Numan's record's anymore. The machines well and truly dominate now.
Do you need one more sign? A gift for the old? Can you see, or are you so blind? I raised the oceans Here you are lost to the truth Lost to all reason Here you are, the pain in my heart The shame on my soul And how could you leave your home to burn? And how could you turn your blue sky grey? And how could you laugh as children warned you? And how could you take their world away? You will fade like a sigh A breath in the cold You will die and I will forget You were the chosen And how could you lose your innocence? And how could you turn your hearts to stone? And how could you laugh as they screamed for you? And how could you steal their dreams away
Yeah, there is basically ONE dude doing ALL of this. He, of course, requires a band live. Bro is ridiculously gifted and has only gotten better since 2010 (1978). What are they feeding him? I need some😅
@@matthewjessup8584 A lot of Numan's music is sampled beats and electronic noise effects from the likes of the vst Omnisphere . I know drum machines are samples, unless your using an analog drum machine they aren't samples, some use a combination of waveform and samples, others just pure waveform.
If not for NFS Carbon and Rivals, I would have no idea Gary Numan exists and makes such incredible music. The chorus of this song makes me wanna sing it at the top of my lungs. Love it.
Not surprised that NIN was inspired by Gary(and was playing with him in his concerts) and Gary paid respect back because for so many years he was trying to repeat Reznor and many other industrial/dark wave bands' sound unsuccessfully but since Splinter Numan is again in the Olympus of electronic rock and make every new album even more superior than before Absolutely awesome headbanging track😎
Wow Gary, just wow! This song, to me, really illustrates just how much you've tapped back into your love of making music for music sake. It's so new, but so familiar, calling back to some of the melodic strains of your earliest work. Yet, it's like nothing I've ever heard! You are a true innovator Gary and I wish you enormous success on this and future releases. Thank you for sharing your amazing talent with us.
My favourite song from Intruder. So happy it was performed at Wembley. An absolute wall of noise, dry ice, lasers and, of course Gary himself on top form.🤟
Exactly: Numan is "music" for 60+ folk with concussioned heads from durated head-banging and probably suffering from dementia as well. - STOP listening now, it may add a decade to your life.
I am totally loving everything I have heard from Intruder so far and this is just fkn awesome! I'm listening whilst working and it's really helping me concentrate. I never thought it would be possible for Gary to top Splinter or Savage but he has done it yet again. Brilliant!
I know he already has a very NIN-like style these days, but this honestly sounds like a Gary/Trent collab that belongs on The Fragile. It's like a synthier version of No You Don't. I'm obsessed ❤️
From the start, he's ingenious/original and gripping! Pleasure gave me shelter and happiness during scary times. Love all his work since and will buy this soon!
Well gary after all these yrs you are stronger than ever .thank you .ive been your fan since 1979 .your music helped me threw life the gd and the shit .thank you
The whole album is pretty sharp, and I actually prefer this track over the titular Intruder. Has more of that darkncyber vibe I love. Well done Gaz... from another Gaz.
the first ever record I bought was Are friends electric when I was about 13 or 14 I only had the money for a bus ride into town one way and walked home and when I got back I played the record in the dark in my room over and over it was like from a different world back then I hadn't heard anything remotely like it before.
How!? Every time I listen to this album I want to shout to everyone that this man is a genius.
I don't care that I had to buy a new water heater this week. After work tomorrow I'm getting this album. Genius!
Yeah fuck money! Enjoy life!

I made my own.
Hope the water heater worked OK, Denise! And, did you like the album? I loved it!

This track has it all. Power, energy, darkness and drive. Fantastic album 🎹🖤🥰
It also hits super hard live
Extraordinary man….
Love his beats - he doesn’t sound like anyone else.
I was lucky enough to see him live in 2017 and he puts on a dynamic show too.

Why do others list the lyrics when I have already done this from the start please read the comments first
It goes far beyond production,
The Drum programming is unbelievably brilliant.
And THAT... takes talent and skill.
Well he's had plenty experience. Pure talent, rock on gazza.

Samples unfortunately.
@stevewebb7126 all drum machines are samples , Ade Fenton programs them in the studio...

Gary Numan has chosen to carry his style to "gaming soundtrack like", and I think it's a very good and consequent move. Great track!
When you put it like that, this song has massive Kojima vibes to it. Wouldn’t sound too out of place in Death Stranding

Absolutely awesome headbanging track😎
I'm with NUMAN since the 70' made me a NEWMAN since and from that pyramid
Brilliant in every way! I could listen to his songs all day every day until I die
Tomorrow's the big day!!!! Can't wait to download the new album!
Love the power in this track. So many rich layers. It's going to be an absolute belter live
You’re right. It is a powerful song

Intriguing and melodic. Wonderful synths and rhythms.
Damn, he's a fucking God! 🔥🙏🔥
Should be a single.
Love the heaviness of this track 🖤

Gary changed the way I think about music back in 1978, it was a gift and has for life.

I like this song a lot. Best one outta the 3 he released today. Tomorrow’s record release day. Already feeling a feel Good Friday coming soon.

So far the best song on the album. I preordered months ago, I look forward to getting the physical media.
Omg, I had no idea he was still making music till I saw a BabyMetal concert line up advert

Love the whole album, but this is my favourite on it, love the heavy sound, brilliant Gary x
I really like the Massive Attack sound in this.
Really good track, stands head and shoulders above all the others, as they sound very similar to each other [to me].

Mr Newman.. this is the best album yet! I'm sure Trent will agree. Peace!
I closed my eyes and let the music take me over. That's a very hard thing for me to do, but this song makes a fervent attempt. This song hits hard!
