5 days in, jumped from a painful 30bpm, struggling at 40, to all of the sudden nailing it up to level 7, 100bpm before falling apart. Really awesome fundamental challenge, thanks bernth!

    Oct 11th 90 bpm
    Oct 12th 90 bpm
Oct 13th 90 bpm it’s not as easy on an acoustic but I can do it!!
Oct 16th 100 bpm attempts @ 110 several times then backed it down to 100
Oct 18th 110 I worked at 120 I seem to get caught up on that little half slide down from 12th 11th fret, I will have this by the end of the week.

    October 14: 60 BPM
had a really hard time learning these licks
    October 15: 80 BPM
ok so I've grown fond of the riff after having practiced it yesterday
    October 16: 100 BPM
I enjoy playing it I kinda do it subconsciously
    October 17: 110 BPM
Wow I'm really surprised how fast this is progressing... half a week ago I was struggling to play the warm up and now I almost reach the highest level possible in this video. If somebody is reading this, grab your guitar NOW and do it, it will blow your mind how fast you will progress if you stick to it!
October 18: didnt do it had no time
    October 19: 120 BPM
Workout finished! I only have a small problem with that two finger tapping at 120 BPM... Definitely gonna work on that!

Been guitarist for 5 years and I learned about electric guitar solos and guitar techniques like legato, slides, tapping, but I never knew how to shred. Now I'm 21 I started to learn sweep and alternative pickings, and especially SHRED tapping. I know I'm not the only here who wants to shred, so all I can say is let's all grind everyday and work hard to become a great shred guitarist.

But hey, I made it farther than I thought! When I started this at 30, I was about ready to quit, but I just said to myself, you know what, this would be an awesome skill so I can and will do it!! So I slowly, veeeeery slowly went through and learned the exercise and practiced it slowly, and it worked and I’m at 40 now, buts still, a ways to go

    Day 1: 80 bpm
Tomorrow will be easier now I'm not really used to the lick
    Day 2: 100bpm
I learned the pattern with some harder string skipping by mistake so I re learned and it's easier lol
    Day 3: 110bpm
I got nice runs but tomorrow I'll try to get cleaner or perfect in big part of my runs
    Day 4: 120bpm
I got excited and got 6 perfect runs in a row with 120bpm, this tapping is pretty easy for 'intermediate' players lol. I recommend to you all learn math rock and midwest riff tappings, consistent double tapping and quick bursts are pretty mandatory for intermediate players.

“Mr” Bernth - how important is the distortion effect in this kind of technique? (Almost) all of the players I have seen use plenty of distortion (and/or other effects) when tapping (including this video lesson!), and I find that without effects, the sound/presence of the taps is much less noticeable. Could be just me. Wondering if you have any thoughts or advice on this.

goddamit, fuck this, it's like I have to have every part memorized, I just don't have the answer yet how to master this. Maybe I just don't like it somewhere internally, but, no I do. Keep trying. Mar. 6, 2024 still getting hung up on 50 bpm. Different fingers hammer on in spots from before weeks, so there is that evolution.

I’m having a hard time tapping the open G, C and G notes (3 notes tapped on the tenth fret) while holding a pick.

    I can't decide, but I think that this exercise sounds best somewhere between the 70BPM 5:20, 80BPM 5:50, and 90BPM 6:18.

Yeah, I couldn't decide between 70, 80, and 90 the other day. After listening again I agree, I think 80BPM is the sweet spot.
