We are aware of this, which is also why we fixed it int the LCT 1040 and the PURE TUBE. While not being the nicest thing in the world, it is actually not an issue since it is common to use the tube microphone powered on. So, it does not have any impact on the actual sound and the recordings. Hope I could shine some light on this.
Lewitt - Thanks so much for the comment. And the video shows that you successfully fixed that on the Pure Tube, so it sounded like the commenter is likely switching to the pure tube to resolve the issue he had with the 840. But you're right, I have had the LCT840 for 3 years at this point, and I had never noticed this until someone left a comment. So it was a non-issue for me over 3 years.
I had the LCT840 on my stand for over a month, and I agree. This was a non-issue for me, but out of curiosity I wanted to test it out and publish the tests in case anyone else had questions.
I've had my 840 for like 9 months at this point. I have never really turned off the power supply until today, and noticed I have EXTREMELY loud noise and a high pitch whine. Came here to see if others have the same problem. Appears so. Edit: Bandrew, should I be turning off my power supply when not in use? My LCT 840 is my daily use microphone for my PC setup. Because of this, like I stated before, I've never really reached behind the power supply and turned it off. I just power down my PC. Is it best practice to do this for tube mics? I've searched online and have found nothing regarding this, so I just want your advice. Thank you.
✊🏼🥸👍🏼 Nice one Bandrew. I think I’ll avoid the Lewitt pure. Shame about all that noise. Maybe I’ll change my mind if the problem gets fixed by lewitt . Fanx For Askin 🤟🏼🙂👌🏼
@@Podcastage2 Clarification please! The Noise doesn't matter right? When using a tube, you turn it on & let it warm up before use (20-30 min), right? While there is a "POP," it isn't a design flaw, right? And it doesn't continue to pop. So, when one goes to record, their is no popping going on.
@@Podcastage2 I’ll have to re watch the video again. That buzz was off putting. I mean it’s not a £5 wish mic that you’d expect to be noisy. I get the vale/tube needs to “warm up”: but that buzzing put me right off

emite todo esos sonidos por que son muy feos, #lol ...pero suenan bien! busque otro diseñador industrial !
We have 3 pairs of the 840's, and there's never been any issues.

I'm not a Turdling. Can I still watch this episode?
Of courser.
I wonder if this is something they were working on when designing the new mic/amp.
They definitely resolved both issues with the pure tube, so I'm sure it was something they resolved intentionally.

You misunderstood. The noise is NOT an issue on the pure tube. The noisy version was the 840.

@@libertyDude1775 That's correct. This will not impact your recording at all. This is just a quirk that someone really disliked.
