After watching a ton of reviews I went with the 440 for my all-purpose voice mic for anything from video calls to voiceovers to singing, and I really like it. I have it upside down to keep the mic arm out of the way (the pop filter does stay on). I have it at a 45 angle to make the pop filter's job easier (and so the mic isn't between me and the camera). My step up eventually will be the Pure Tube... it sounds so good!
I'm a Lewitt fan! I have a 140 Air for foley and stuff and I use the 440 for my VO home studio and it's awesome. Shopping for an AKG C414 but couldn't afford that, so I was shopping a C214 and saw some shootout videos against the Lewitt 440. Mind blown. Bang for the buck, it's really unbeatable. I think I'm going to grab a 540 S this holiday season while it's on sale. Thanks for the open and honest review. I'm kind of drooling over the Pure Tube, too, but that's not really in the cards. Cheers!
I noticed that the cheaper one really sounds more open and clear up in the mids and highs on these speakers man I was really impressed honestly. I am looking to get one and my first thought was the $1200 one but that little one might work better for my system because I just bought my first real preamp LOL Its a tube preamp that can add plenty of flavor itself! I have mixed in the box for decades LOL Just doing my own thing now my band days are over I guess BUT it's what we like no matter what we are doing if it feels good then keep doing it LOL I play guitar Bass Piano Drums All of it even vocals. SO I am doing a project just writing everything. I need a decent mic but I don't think I need to spend thousands.
I grabbed a pair of 441 Flex's a couple of years back for a ridiculous deal on Black Friday... those and my ~20yr old SM58. I'm done. I don't need another mic. Figure-8 for doing vocal + acoustic together, omni for everything else; turns out I never use any of the cardioid modes. (58 when I do rock vocals) Love 'em so much!
I'm getting my first 2 Lewitt mics in a few days. I run audio video at my church, and I'm needing upgrades but still on a budget. Well I'm getting the LCT 440 Pure Vida and the LCT 441 Flex. I have no clue as of now what your other mics sound like in that shootout, but if it's here I'll have to check it out. If I had the money that Pure Tube was awesome, despite not being the top dog in the Lewitt lineup. It would be amazing as well. Great demo.
The Lewitt mics I've tried have been excellent and great bamg for the buck. Last couple albums I recorded had the 340TT on all the toms, and the most recent also had the 140 Air matched pair for drum overheads and it turned out even better than I had hoped. Even for lower cost they really deliver.
I have a few Lewitt tube mics and my brother has several other of their models. We both like them very much. Mostly use them for acoustic guitar. If at some point you can try out the lct-1040 (spendy) I think you’ll like it. Many options on that one.
I'm seriously thinking about getting the Pure Tube as my studio's tube mic. The smoothness of the tops and the warmth of the whole sound is different to the other mics that I have. It's between this, a WA47 or a WA67 that I am currently thinking of choosing from
Good one. The 440 Pure Sounds Great. I feel it's a tad thin sometimes. Something not talked about much is working the mic on vocals. Every time i get a new mic it takes me a bit to find the sweet spot when doing vocals of voice overs. Great choice for the money.
не ожидайте такого же звука у вас дома, pure tube прекрасный микрофон, но у этого парня, между микрофоном и его аудио консолью, еще аппаратуры тысяч на 10.
440 pure is very impressive! Some suggestions on your test- record with both mics at the same time and don’t tell the performers which is more expensive. They and any anybody else will be hard pressed to hear the difference in a blind test. It’s true that performers feel inspired singing into an expensive and fancy looking mic though! Whatever it takes to get a good performance
There were 9 total so there was no way to do all at the same time. No one knew prices until the end of all of them. I wanted to use each mic separate to see what they felt and noticed as they sang. In a real recording situation they will get that instant feedback.
It’s hot here in Australia 😂 Oh, and I love those Lewitt mics, they aren’t quite as cheap here in Australia but they are still great value. That Pure Tube is about $1500 here. I also love those Lauten Audio mics. The LA320 is an amazing tube mic for under $1000!
You should also take a look at the Lewitt LCT 441 Flex. I think it's an awesome affordable mic, because it has a ton of polar patterns that aren't typical with most budget options. I use the 441 Flex all the time even though I've got a huge microphone collection with many of the holy grail mics. They get quality result, they've got flexibility with the polar patterns, they're super quiet with high SPL handling, and they're cheap enough I'm not afraid to do risky things with them that I would never do with my multi-thousand dollar mics.
ya the tube sounds a bit extra but the 440 is lovely for my budget. Im a singer songwriter home studio guy and I need a better mic for my voice . my sp b1 is a bit dark for me.What was that piano for your jazz player?? very rich sounds. nice. great stuff thanks for this work.
to be completely honest i didnt hear any difference, my soundcard is the Audient ID44 and headphones are Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro and for contentcreter on youtube it is of no use at all because most listen via the pour sound through their phone speakers or budget headphones
The rapper said no difference. 😁 For shouting random words, really who cares. 😃 Jokes aside, great video, thanks. I worked with the 440 pure and it is really great. Now thinking about getting the pure tube, still not sure. 🙂👍
Hehe, it's the first mic I bought almost 20 years ago, and it works if your don't have anything else. I still use it from time to time. But for my speech recording and videoconferencing purposes my voice definitely sounds nicer through the LCT 440 I got back in 2020. And it also works great on guitar cabs!
I’m definitely impressed by what you get for your money with the Lewitt mics. The 440 Pure has been too grainy and airy in the top end for me, but I can definitely see a use case for it. The Pure Tube is just LUCIOUS! The smooth top end and creaminess of the sound is quite nice, especially in the jazz vocal. It was very nice to hear the comparison audio. Thanks for sharing the video!
in my opinion. The Rap vocals would have done much better with a dynamic microphone with a bit more push on the gain. His vocals sounded muddy on each of the lewitts and it lacked clarity. I didnt see the other videos in this series but I'm curious what micrphone you ended up choosing.
Do a blindfold test next time - believe me - singers - even professionals - don't have a clue in what mike they're singing in. Its all about after compensation and what plug and how much they use. If they know - they're probably not that good!

the pure tube sound good coming threw my Adam speakers. you can hear the warmth and clarity .
Want me some Adams too, what type are you using? I assume you love them, else you wouldn't have mentioned them, right? 😁
If it sounds good on the Adams, it is good!
I’m buying the 940 in a couple of days. I might get one of those 440’s for travel and cheap clients and keep the expensive one in my home Stu
The tube was crystal clean and smooth!

try the 441 Flex on overheads! even on live enviroments

I use the 440 on my videos. Love it. For the price, please!
Bro, been waiting for that other video you said you were going to upload since forever ❤
Which one?

Great demo.
Great vid as always Jeremy. Wow! You get some great performers in your studio!
Yeah gonna get me a 440 for Christmas. Great value. And for what they are all lewitt microphones seem to offer a lot at their respective price points.
840 user here I also have a 440 pure vida edition
I'go three Lewitts. One 240 Pro and two 440 pure. Got to get a Pure tube!

I think the 440 pure is the best value in microphones today. I bought two.
Its hard to think of a contender

These were going through ISA pres. Pretty ubiquitous.

Try putting one of these mics in front of a VOX AC15 or 30. Was shocked how good it sounded.
Which one the 440 or the pure tube l?
@RecordingStudioLoser Hi. I just have the 440. I bet the tube one would sound good too.

Lewitt is unfortunately discontinuing the LCT 441 Flex. I hope that they replace it with something similar because it really is a great microphone.
@@johnnymiller3684 Have you heard anything more about the Flex being discontinued? I never did see anything on it.
@@legacyShredder1 I haven't heard anything more than what the Sweetwater associate told me back then. Maybe he was misinformed himself?
@@johnnymiller3684 Thanks for the reply. I'll have to ask my folks at Sweetwater and Lewitt about it.
Good comparison. Pure tube did sound excellent for the second song.
I find that the low priced Lewitts hype the highs and sound shrill and thin on voices.
What Piano VST or actual piano were you using in the Jazz First Vocal?
Native instruments. Either the gentlemen or the Maverick
Do you have any thoughts or experience with the lewitt lct 640ts?!
These are the only ones I’ve tried up to this point.

isnt the ultimate flagship the 1040 which is like over 3,000 bucks

The pure tube is really cool. I’ve grown to really enjoy it after having sat with it for a long time. Soooo clean.
And those lyrics were fire btw.
@@RecordingStudioLoser Lyrics well thought out and put together, I agree.

He dug the Eden there’s 4 total videos with all the mics we tried.
I love my Lewitt but this popfilter is piece of shit xd looks nice but doesnt work. Im still in love with 440 pure.
