You’re the man. Anytime I wanna buy an interface I watch your reviews. Doing Gods work ❤
the exact video I was waiting for! Thanks Julian for the excellent review, helped make my decision on my next interface.
A nice review as always Julian. You're one of, if not the most detail oriented interface reviewer on the web. I'm surprised they didn't put a Hi/z input also. That makes this interface a no go for most guitarists like myself. Especially when there are other options out there.
Maybe it was so it could be completely USB powered?
@@jayarmstrong I doubt it Jay, since there are a lot of interfaces that are usb powered with hi/z inputs. They purposely chose to not put on in. This seems geared towards microphones and basic line levels. But Lewitt is a microphone company.
I think it mainly has to do with the fact that it's geared towards streamers, and people who will probably have music going on in the background. Probably not a lot of amp Sims that are made to run on cell phones, as an example. And you can generally get a better result with the di box than you can with most built-in hi z inputs. For the features it has, it's hard to beat even given that. At least in my opinion, for whatever that's worth.
Naaah, id4 has a Hi-z input and it's bus powered@@jayarmstrong
I’ve been waiting for this review!
I was patiently waiting for your review before I decide to buy this interface. thank you!
Nice.. rooting for this guys... very informative videos ma men...
Got mine. Very happy with it. Very nice interface for real.
Very in-depth review 🤘🏽. Glad my headphones are high ohm units 👍🏽
Julian , I always frequent Your Podcast for the latest interface news 👍
,
Fantastic video, thanks for all the hard numbers. For dual PC streaming I would totally buy this, not for anything else.
Seems to me that this is a re-release of one of Julian's videos. However, great work - keep it up!
Thanks for reviewing this Julian, as I was waiting on hearing from you (of course). I was thinking that this not having high Z inputs was a good thing, at least for me, as I have piezo pickups on my Variax Shuriken and prefer to connect it to a DI box before going into the audio interface. Also, I've read from some that high Z is crap on these cheaper audio interfaces and that is why the more expensive offerings don't have it. Is this true?
the cloudfetlifterhead! i love it!!! its always the best of your reviews which in line preamp you adress in the next video xD
Another solid review, Julian.
They missed out with no guitar input. Eliminates it for me as a recording interface.
I imagine their next offering will include this if they want to increase their market share in this range of interfaces.
I like the video. I'm less enthusiastic about the audio interface. If I needed to buy one right now I'm not sure this would be my first choice. And it wouldn't be a significant improvement on what I already have.
Hello Julian amazing videos, why do crosstalk lvls change between reviewers e.g. 70db vs 50db, misc? measuring techniques?
Nice video. I would like to see this interface in dual pc setup as you mentioned. Can´t imagine how that could work but that could solve problems where all others need a 3.5mm jack connection between the streaming and gamin pc?
Hi Julian, thanks again for your review !
Do you think one day you’ll review the SONOSAX M2D2?😀
Best regards
Very nice. How do the drivers work when it is connected to two computers? For me a mac M2 and a windows 11 pc. Does the drivers communicate back and forth between the machines? Or do you have to choose which computer is in control of the interface and which one just receives whatever settings the "master" has set?
Ever thought about reviewing the Yamaha ZG01? It's kind of similar to this one, except it has a built in HDMI-switch which is quite rare on an interface tailored for gaming. There's been a bunch of reviews (although mostly Japanese) on it, but none of them have really gone over the technical aspects of it. It would be interesting to hear your thoughts on it and potentially see some numbers!
Nice review, once again! By the way: The AI-1 in your chart has gained more gain with a firmware upgrade. It is now spec'd with 60 dB. Maybe something to keep in mind for the future. :)
@@Julian_Karuse Do us a favour: Go to school and get a job instead of phising people on the internet!
Thank you for this review!
Can you please review the Rode Rodecaster Pro 2 please?
I bought a Lewitt Connect 6 based on your excellent review. So far, I'm very happy with the functionality and performance of the interface. My use case is sharing an XLR shotgun microphone and desktop speakers between a home computer and a work laptop. My home computer is an M1 Mac Mini, and my work computer is MacBook Prom. I'm using both USB connections as well as the Expander, Compressor, and EQ for Zoom, Google Meet, and MS Teams calls. I upgraded from using a Zoom H4n and could not be happier with my choice. Lewitt's MacOS software works great, although there is certainly room for improvement.
Hello MateoFalls, I am wondering since you use the Connect 6 on a Mac. Do you have to unplug it to restart it after your Mac goes to sleep? I picked one up and it is very annoying to sit down at my computer to play a video in the middle of the night only to have it blast from the computer speaker instead of my headphones. I think this might be my a breaker for me and I will send the device back unless there is a fix.
always love your review and detailed explanation! i was interested in this lewitt but the hi z input is really important to me
and i am currenlty looking an interface that has built in dsp / eq ,comp or features something like that, whether its hardware or software controlled, and has loopback feature
do you have any recommendation ?
NUX N-Live
Have you checked the Yamaha AG06MK2 USB Mixer and audio interface? it also has onboard DSP
Hi there! Do the real time effects print into your DAW?
Please advise me to buy MOTU 2 or PRESONUS 24C? Is there a big difference in sound quality?
Hey Julian! What about Apollo Twin X? We wanna see it! Please we need you to compare it with other audio interfaces and put all data to your table!
Julian what interface has most lowest roundrip letancy of them all you tested?
regarding connecting a guitar, what if you connect a guitar with active system, e.g an acoustic guitar or just active pickups in an electric guitar?
I've ordered the Yamaha silent guitar (SLG200N), the output impedance of that thing is 1k... Lewitt specs say the input impedance for line level is 3.9k.
looks like technically it should work just fine right?
Hi, julian. Is it worth buying this?
No dedicated guitar input takes it off my list of interfaces I am considering for the near future. Yes, a DI box will fix that.
DI-box need to have Hi-Z input to work properly with passive electric instruments. Not every DI-box has one.
Hi Julian have you tested the Yamaha AG06 mk2?
Hi Julian and others, I really want dual computer connections, but the Connect 6 design doesn't work for me. Are there any other interfaces in the US$300-or-less range that have two computer connections? These reviews are great!
can this route audio via usb between, for example, a PC and an iPad, similar to the iConnectivity 4+?
Could you do an Audiofuse Rev2 review please. Though I already have one, I’d like you to test against others
If it had 4 outs to spit between the two machines for someone like me who has a live rig where I use software Keyboards and an amp sim rig that would be great. But I have to run each app in stand alone mode to be able to control them with midi pedals (amplitube). The iConnectivity & Metric halo interfaces can do this as well but not at the Lewitt's price point.
Please do a review on the Yamaha AG03.
Any good interface with dual usb? I wanna send audio from mac to a daw on ipad and would like to monitor ipad.
Very interesting device
Which is better LEWITT CONNECT 6 or Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 4th Gen for condenser microphone and vocals singing?
Can you review the motu M6 please?
Double the price of the presonus io 24 is it 2x better?
here I am still running an focusrite 2i4 1st gen, no clue what to upgrade to....if at all
hey julian krause quick question interested in reviewing the rcp2
is the connect 6 an upgrade from motu m2?
Hey please tel me whait mic you use in this video?
It looks like a gaming console from the early 2000s.
Or an Atari 2600?
I thought that we were in the early 2000s.

can you review the MOTU M6 6x4
I do voice over, NOT music processing/input/mixing - does this software do anything that I can’t do in Audition or Garage Band, aside from doing it in real-time?
Professor Doctor Julian Krause is at your service😂
I have this but am returning it because A) the line outs produce a lot of hiss and I'm not sure how your testing didn't detect it. It's very audible in a quiet room. Perhaps I got a lemon. B) the audio routing relies on their app, and since I run Linux, that's very limiting. For example, I'm unable to use my phone with the connect 6. This is an issue with many modern audio interfaces though.
On the plus side, CD quality streaming music sounds amazing over the headphone out, so i love their DAC. It's also great that the DSP and all are retained in the device so it's super portable.
the solution for a Linux user is a Windows 11 VirtualMachine and USB pass-through. Configure and test as needed, save... and then go back to Linux. Win 11 without activation works just fine for this... no need for a license.
another Linux user! I’m hoping to get one to share between Mac and Linux with Mac as the control, and mix the audio from movies and Apple Music in from the Mac. Windows VM for gaming can also set it up with USB passthrough like @dajonga said. The issues with the headphone output kills it though, plus needing a DI box for guitar.
I just want to l mix two digital sources, have one analog output, one headphone, and knobs for controlling both inputs and both outputs quickly. Can’t be that hard right? Yamaha ZG01? Or something with an optical input?
@@Ranguvar13 the Rodecasters have two digital inputs
@@jayarmstrong ty! I was interested but they are pricey and it's a lot to wrap the head around. Komplete Audio 6 Mk2 seems to fit the bill at 180. There's a dial to bias between input and host audio, plus SPDIF in. No display or control for SPDIF input volume by itself, unlike (I think) Babyface Pro which seems great too, but this is far cheaper and still seems to have excellent components.
I'll use a keyboard rotary encoder for managing the audio levels on Linux and a toggle with it to control the Windows VM level too, then digital out from motherboard to the interface which will be USB to the Mac (native ARM app too, vs Babyface Rosetta app and a few teething issues with their new Apple Silicon driver).
How woupd at50x wpuld perform with this interface?
Is it possible to conect a usbc microphone to the connect.6.? I tried but it wont detect a shure mvc on usb c port
Hey, that's not possible with any interface. If the mic has a USB connection, it is designed to be plugged straight into your PC. You can only connect mics to the connect 6 via the TRS or XLR inputs.
Thank you very much Julian the I think I have to buy the XLR Cable to conect the shure mb7 to connect 6 then record on cellphone by the USB C connection right ?
Choice of can is very important.
In an app like OBS do each of the inputs come up as separate devices?
On the Mac version i have NO making it useless for my use. You only see the name Connect 6 and when using that it only brings in the sound from line input 1 so no way to get other sounds in to OBS. So i am using Caster to do this now.
Obs is a stereo application, you need to download obs-asio plugin for to use multichannell input
@@mentalrey1 this is what you are using?
@@TheREAPERBlog It's just a known problem
@@mentalrey1 No you dont you just need a audio interface that works right and sends the outputs that OBS will them show you to pick when creating a audio input in OBS. Lewitt confurmed that this is a problem today with the Connect 6 that needs to be fixed. So right now this is not working for Mac users and should have never been put out like this. Not sure about Win users if it works or not as i am a Mac user.
That GPU card look is rather funny. I don't understand the logic for choosing CS42888 CODEC - it is intended for AV receivers and automotive multimedia use.
I wish Røde would send you the Rødecaster Pro II.

I don't think you should mark this video as advertisment. It's a normal practice for revievers to get a review unit for free. As long as it is disclosed properly I don't see any problem with that.
100%. Actually it bothered me to hear it classified as advertisement. Advertisement is something else. He is doing a review.
I wsant this kind of ewview with an Apogee Symphony Desktop 😭
Will you examine the magic of the new Lewitt Ray microphone for its ingredients? ;-)
Can you do a video comparing this to Audient ID14?
Yes please...
You can find reviews for both versions of Audient id14 here on Julian's channel. Audient has way bigger dynamic range and much better headphone output. It's a great device for professional recording and mixing. MK1 version has no loopback, MK2 has one. The Connect 6 mic inputs have tons of gain, and good real-time FX. These are the only things where CONNECT 6 really shines.
I used to have id14 MK1, but upgraded for MK2 lately. Both units do a great job for my main tasks - recording and mixing live music. Can't find a better option for the money. Connect 6 is best for live streaming and podcasting situations, as Julian mentioned.
@@alexeysmirnovguitar Thanks Alexey...much appreciated!
@@alexeysmirnovguitar what’s your opinion about Audient iD14 MK2 vs Motu M2?
@@mafaik Both are good, id choose the audient id14 mkii... It is expandible by adat, a little bit cleaner preamps and a very good software.
But yet, Motu M2 is a beast for 200 dll
i have this interface and the software problems have driven me crazy (windows 11) the design sucks, the material is meh, the IO selection is fine. its saving grace is the DSP and good sounding pre-amps (Audibly better sounding than my motu m2)
new firmware out not that long ago
works perfect on my alienware laptop
I like this interface (although the need to hook up a DI in order to record guitar is a shame. Most people using home interfaces will at some point need to record a guitar. Maybe a future upgrade?)

Does any one know which 32bit float interface is best?
MixPre-6 II or MixPre-10 II. I have the 6 and it's incredible.
@@JeffSanders thanx a lot. Will check the prices. Hope it ain't the price of the apollo.

BABYFACE PRO FS
@@wzroq The Steinberg is 32 bit integer, not float. And there are very few 32 bit float interfaces on the market. Most are around $1k.
I have the Mac version i got in a few days ago. I have yet to get it to work right. Trying to send out it is missing all the outputs 1, 2, 2/3, 3/4, 5/6, Aux, Cell. So when sending to OBS to record a video it has no way to send the sound from the Mac to be recorded. When you go to pick the line you want to use you only see Connect 6 no others. When you pick that you get the mike in sound from line in 1. So i can not send in sound from a keyboard playing or other music usb devices or logic pro or even sound from a youtube video or anything on the Mac. Check yours and see if you turn the specker output down to 0 on mine set at 0 i still get a small amount of sound coming out my speckers you can easy hear but the mute button will work to kill it. When i save a preset it never shows what preset is being used. So looks like i will have to send it back ..looking at the Audient iD14 MKII or SSL SSL2+.to get to replace it. I have a Tascam i have been using that has worked great for well over a year now but its only a one input version. Alos looking at the Antelope Audio Zen Go Synergy Core 4x8 Bus-Powered Thunderbolt 3 have you tested the Thunderbolt 3 version any thing different or updated on this version? Its a big price jump.
I did get a e-mail back today from Lewitt and they did recreate the same problem i sent them in a video. They are sending a ticket in i guess to who every dose the software for them to get it fixed but they have no time frame on how long this will take to get fixed. So i am sending mine back today and i ordered the Audient iD14 MKII. It dose work in OBS showing you all the outputs to pick in OBS to use, If you do a search for Audient iD14 MKII into OBS you will find a video showing this being setup and working in OBS.
The only interesting feature that this interface has is the ability to connect two computers in order to share the interface, other than that I'm not convinced, I'm sticking with my Motu M4.
That industrial design, tho... gag me with a mic stand

Obviously Lewitt tailored this interface for the live/podcast market but failed as a high end interface for music recording...

so, ok hardware, decent software, mediocre drivers, junk headphone output. Not bad for a first effort. I'd say it's priced about right.

Given the excellent quality of their microphones, this audio interface is a huge disappointment. Low grade and cheaply made. Lewitt really failed on this endeavor.
