The puck physics is horrible. 1:06 the puck goes up and suddenly lands in front of the player. Just make it "play anywhere" enabled to allow PC gamers to enjoy 4K, ray tracing and 120fps.

Here’s an idea! Every NHL game lasts for 5 years, but they consistently get patches, so we don’t have to lose all our progress AND so we don’t gotta pay 60-80$ a year for a few improvements that could be added in a simple game update? Just patch the game every year, and maybe only every 5 years make a new one

That'll never happen. EA knows the second its on PC is the second Modders get ahold of it. If modders get their hands on it, you'll instantly see how much EA is scamming everyone with these games.

You can't just say it only applies to NHL because modders can impact all their games and they don't care about modders for Fifa and Madden apparently since you can buy them on steam right now. NHL doesn't come to PC simply because they think it wouldn't generate enough money to justify doing the work to make it happen, not because of modding.
They won't port it because modders will fix the game and they won't make any more money from newer releases
Something i have waited forever for but probably will never happen is that when your team misses the playoffs or gets eliminated in be a pro you could go and play for your national team in like a iihf world championship (i know they dont have the rights anymore) but something like that would be cool imo
YES this or franchise mode same thing. I hate getting eliminated in franchise mode only to sim to next season. Let me choose a country, build roster from available players and do that instead of cup or bust mentality every time

Am I the only one who's surprised the NHL Series is moving to the Frostbite engine now??
I thought last year was the final chance the series had at going to Frostbite as I would have thought the EA Sport Games would be moving to a new engine for the Next Gen Consoles. It's nice to see Frostbite added! Just weird since Fifa 17 brought it, Madden 18 brought it and it didn't come in NHL 19, 20 or 21.
Just to be clear it'll be a nice improvement, it just feels like one that should have happened two or three games ago, not now. Does NHL moving to Frostbite mean we shouldn't expect EA Sport games to move to a new engine actually designed for Sport games for several years?

Gotta love it when the NHL franchise gets features that have been in Madden and/or FIFA for several years already. NHL always seems like an afterthought. How about making it so you can win games without having to score the exact same one-timer goals for 60 minutes.
Relying on one timers for goals means more practice is needed…I see all these chomos that can’t score without one timers… pathetic. If someone has to score goals with one timers only it means they are 💩

@@trevordaigneault4159 It's not that nobody can score without one timers, it's that one timers are by far the most efficient and easiest way to score so everyone does it. Over and over again. If you're not doing one timers every chance you get, you're losing because that's all the other team is doing. You never see one timers come this easy in real life, but in game you can pull them off like dunks in the NBA...

Defensive and goalie AI have been non existent for as long as I can remember. This is EA so I any improvement is unlikely.
That’s the point…goalies miss the “I“ in “AI“ and even with 95+ def there‘s frequent collision query issues…just like fifa (can‘t speak for madden etc) you‘re effective in online competition when using those glitches…

U can’t get mad at Ea for not making it look like tv because hockey is a unique sport with a lot of unique movements it’s the hardest sport to make every movement realistic because every player is different

I reluctantly stopped buying NHL games made by EA in 2018 after spending over a decade playing them religiously... I'm very satisfied knowing I made the right choice, given that it still seems like regurgitated trash. What a shame that such a powerful company puts out such a mediocre product year after year, only to drive more and more fans away from the franchise. It's become purely about appeasing the investors as each quarter they push greedier and greedier tactics, not caring how it affects the actual in-game experience. I'm disappointed in you EA Sports. I'm only one person but for a company that gave many of us a plethora of joyous memories, it's sad to have watched you morph into a money hungry black hole.

In NHL be a Pro I want to be able to play in Europe like in the SHL or Liiga etc… So per say I was bored of playing in the NHL or AHL now I want to go over seas and play in Europe when your contract is up you can chose to stay in North America or Go over to Europe and chose ur league that you want to play in and teams from that league will offer you contacts and when your be a pro player retired you can make your Pro an Coach or Gm and it turns into a franchise mode.

Live the life in ‘14 was the closest we got. I want something more like that out of BAP, as well as less coach prompts during games. A classic style BAP mode like from before 21 would be great, as the text box conversations get annoying sometimes.

A few ideas for the developers.
Player growth in EASHL/CHEL like Fifa. A coop mode where I can play as my Player (who can grow and become better) on a 32nd team, with my friends who also play as their character against the AI in a season.
Bring back GM connected. You had it before and it gets asked for every year by fans, why ignore them. Give them what they want.
Instead of adding garbage cosmetics like pizza or baby narwhale skates, add in licensed products like Bauer 4000s, 100s, Total Ones. Basically actual equipment from over the eras. Sticks, gloves, pants, helmets from previous years. Make it so taking on your helmet and playing is a badge of honor like reaching prestige 3. Throw in goalie equipment too. Jofa, D&R, Easton, and other stuff from the past. This is simple and better than seeing every player wearing eye sores. You could even make it so certain types of equipment are locked behind levels. Custom CHEL goalie pads? Prestige 2. Otherwise you have to wear normal brands (albeit with your own colours).
Add in the store like 2K. Enough of this stupid hockey bag random drop nonsense. Let people buy what they want via an in game credit system. If you want to copy 2K, make it like the neighborhood. Add a proshop where a person can buy equipment. NHL store for jerseys, hats, and track suits. A team dressing room. Your menu systems suck. I'd love my own EASHL team dressing room. I join the lobby with my friends and I can see their players in their stalls, ready to go. My teams logo and colours on the floor and around the room.
Actually monitor you game and it's content. Enough playing teams where the other team has a character who is black named "Darky McDarkson" who has red hair. This racist trash needs to stop. Easy solution, the name you enter only works offline and online it's your gamertag.

There is no point in buying this game if there is absolutely no cross play. It's 2021, if you don't invest in your own product by implementing a feature that so many games on the market have nowadays then I won't invest in your product either. With our limited matchmaking as it is, this will be a tremendous detriment to the online gaming experience. I believe this will be one of the biggest, if not THE BIGGEST FLOP IN THE HISTORY OF THE NHL FRANCHISE.
This could go two ways 1. Frostbite engine and changes that make it way more fun then nhl 21. Or we get frostbite and get small changes don’t matter. Even though the games have sucked a lot for most of you I don’t really care what happens cause I’m always exited

The thing about ice is that it has a translucent surface, meaning that some light passes through it. When you're really up close to the ice or view it at an angle, it becomes more translucent and brings out sharper and clearer reflections. This effect is very clearly seen in this trailer. When zoomed out, the ice appears whiter and less reflective, much like how you'd see it on a TV broadcast.
Take 0:58 for example. The camera is zoomed out, and viewing it at a soft angle. The ice appears very white.
But when it changes angles, you see the translucent effect.

Fans have been asking for updates FOR YEARS (GM Connected/Winter Classic/Skills Comp. etc), but yet we get the same carbon copy game time and time again with new rosters. The only way they’ll learn is if no one buys the game

@@SportsFan-vq9kk It's a shame because they truly have the resources to do so much with the game. And adding new fun innovative features would likely bring more sales and players anyway. Game companies have gone down hill a lot. I'm personally waiting until they release one on PC and even then I'll wait for a sale. If you have PC try out Slapshot Rebound, it's free and a very arcade style hockey game.
Once again. EA focuses on stuff that happens ONCE every 30-40 games and makes it the "norm" for abilities. At least make a meter you have to charge up in order to do these.
Graphics obviously look better, but until I see/feel a difference in actual gameplay and physics, it still just seems the same.
Facts
EA hasn’t for a while cared about making a realistic hockey game, instead they’re making a game that focuses on doing all the ”cool” things. What they don’t seem to understand is that those things are only as cool as they are rare. It will probably be another 10 years at least before we get a game that somewhat resembles actual hockey gameplay and tactics wise.
As long as HUT makes them money they don’t need to make a realistic game. Let’s hope that selling gambling to children actually gets banned and EA is forced to stop selling HUT packs/make the game 18+ if they want to sell them.

They should make a fan mode, you create your own fan. Give him a part time job, buy tickets. Get him to beer belly/ultimate fan status. Change his outfits when they go to certain games, bring some jerseys to throw when your disappointed. Get him thrown out of games or banned.

u sorta can, it takes HOURS but ive made a 31 team league out of making 31 custom teams and switching them with NHL teams in franchise mode, I also managed every team so I could fix stuff but I settled on one team to play on. Pretty fun and rewarding when it all comes together
I made the whole Hockeyettan in Sweden.. from North to South. Safe to say I spent countless hours on it. All arenas are as accurate as possible, uniforms, overall skill and effects!
This year for some reason i feel like they actually worked hard. NHL 21 was a really good jump but not huge enough this is the perfect year to get that horse really going !!!! (Gm Connected, and improved gameplay is an instant WWWWWWWW)

this is a great balance. because one timers happen realistically. i think the only time more than one should be allowed is when ur completely on a 2-on-0

@@scuddbucket3300 yeah, and obviously some goalies are better than others, hence stats. But more often than not, the player doesn’t control the goalie, so the player aspect gets taken out of the equation. It would also be cool if they did some sort of fatigue element throughout the game, or a series or something, to add a bit more realism. And just like in real life, it could play into different strategies for regular season or playoffs. There’s so much potential for these games nowadays. Lol

why can't we get the all star skills competition, more jerseys for teams, crowds that chant (like the islanders or predators fans), real goal horns (the predators do not have the fucking cat noise that the panthers have....) and AI that actually go for the puck, rather than skate around and not even hit, lift sticks, or poke check.
