Spider Man: Far From Home - Caravan of Garbage

- Spider-Man is back and this time it's personal/Europe! Hot of the death of Tony Stark/Iron Man our hero Peter Parker is off on an overseas adventure before running afoul of fake Nick Fury and the Elementals. Luckily he has the help of a magical green smoke spewing hero in the form of Mysterio, a being from a parallel dimension who's only out to do good. According to the trailers at least which is great news for Spider-Man because he doesn't have many mates in Europe. Thanks for watching our Caravan Of Garbage review

When JK Simmons showed up at the end, my husband recognized him but couldn’t remember where from. I told him he was in the previous Spider-Man movies, but it turns out my husband only remembered him as the president in Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3
Edit: He had seen the Rami trilogy but Red Alert 3 came out more recently and he played it A LOT
Your husband is a legend for remembering that hats off and saluting him 💪🏻
That’s a 10/10 role so I don’t blame him
He was in that wasn't he.
Or a Nazi, murderer, rapist in Oz...
One of his best roles, it goes to show how dedicated your husband is cause that REALLY is the last Command and Conquer
The writers of Secret Invasion should really be commended for how quickly and efficiently they stripped away every bit of mystery and spy charisma that Sam Jackson had built up over dozens of cameos and turned him into an incompetent middle manager that took advantage of some aliens he found.
This was Ben mendo playing fury in this movie though
@@jamesgreen9480 it was Samuel L. Jackson playing Ben playing Fury. Honestly the writing was lazy so it was just regular Fury for this whole movie.
The way they handled the skrulls in general in that show pisses me off so much. The whole premise of Secret Invasion is the sense of paranoia of being able to trust no-one, because the skrulls can be anyone. Basically John Carpenter's the Thing, but on a much bigger scale. In the show, you can always tell when someone is in disguise, like how Rhodey was such a cartoon villain everyone knew he was a Skrull right away, then they tried to play the reveal like it was this big shocking twist. For a show advertised as a spy thriller, it's neither thrilling and features little spying. Both Agents of Shield and the Avengers EMH cartoon did it better than the MCU
I just realized in the movies he hasn’t done a damn thing since Captain Marvel technically since this wasn’t him and that was a young Nick Fury so it’s also technically the last time he ever did anything cause then he met Skrulls and had them do everything. What a dumbass change of a character.
@@jamesgreen9480I don’t think you thought before this comment.
The genius of James starting a UA-cam channel talking about movies and comics and TV shows just so he can tell us about going to Rome that one time
IT WAS ALL PLANNED FROM THE BEGINNING
The long con.
This channel and it's fan base has the funniest humor
My wife who got into the MCU because of Homecoming had no idea who Mysterio is. The swerve made her gasp loudly in the theater and is one of her favorite MCU moments
Aww
Even if you knew they still played it well. The naive young spidey ate it up too. Didn't even get peter tingle.
And then everyone in the theatre clapped
@@lil_bingusThe theater clapped at Gwen dying?
Was this in Philly?
@@AdamdiditWhen Gwen dies, everyone wins
Between ASMR bowl licking and Mason's clear longing for Aunt Mae, this channel has gotten amusingly rowdy in recent weeks.
"It's not going to work, they're going to have to kill her" while cutting to Aunt Mae getting killed off in the next film got me good
You should have been here for bram STROKERS dracula man, that was horny
2024 is the beginning of Caravan of Garbage's grub era
Bram stoker dracula was peak h.o.r.ny

Good video, but would have been better if we found out where James watched Iron Man in 2008
Spectacular Spiderman animated Mysterio is peak
And if it was subbed or dubbed
Because that's when it came out. Iron Man and The Dark Knight released the same year.
In Rome? Only two options - Barberini movie theater or Cinema Farnese.
Spider-Man: Far From Rome
They need to bring mysterio back for a sinister 6 or something and have it be Jake Gyllenhaal until the hologram drops, at which point its the small balding man from Iron Man 1 in the suit.
I really think they should do that
I like this idea.
He was the real Mysterio all along.
The real Mysterio is the fish bowls we made along the way.
I was part of the marketing for this movie. Marvel interviewed me and asked me to talk about why I love Mysterio but I was NOT allowed to say he was a villain. So I spent 15 minutes fumbling about how he was my favorite "character" while desperately wanting to blurt out how he made Wolverine murder all the X-Men.
What a bizarre marketing tactic
Wow jeez thanks fella I guess I won't go see Deadpool 3 and see Wolverine murda all the Xmen since I know it's gonna happen and there's no fun in enjoying a spectacle unless it's a surprise
@@nailinthefashionYou do know he was talking about in the comics, right? Not the upcoming movie?
@@gaming_means_lag6446 it's sarcasm either way because you know damn well we will be sat for that speccy
@@nailinthefashionwhat the fuck are you on about
I know people don’t like that he’s little iron boy Jr., but I really like the idea he keeps getting these surrogate father figures and none of them are a good influence on him. Then he meets some spider brothers and things kind of come full circle for him
Now I'm picturing a version of Spider-Bros, where Iron Man is alive and is like, "Help me murder this guy who killed your aunt. Its okay cuz were rich and powerful. Well I'm rich and you're powerful."
@@TheJesselopez1981 Stark would be like “Our actions are justified because we’re intelligent….also I wanna piss off Ross some more lol”
@NateArchibaldWithTheFro "Hey, let's drop Banner off at Ross's house. We'll set him off and then leave." 🤭
@@TheJesselopez1981 “Hey kid are you old enough to drink? Eh doesn’t matter I started young and look at me now!”
@NateArchibaldWithTheFro "oh look there's another guy I pissed off 20 years ago, and now he's back as some horrible, super villain. What is that 6 already? Anyway, you got this, right? I'm gonna go get my sausage Peppered if you know what I mean."
Imagine a version of Logan where Jake Gyllenhaal kills all the X-Men.
The actor not the character
I understood that reference.
can't stop laughing at how james just so casually spoils joker at 15:10
This is a crossover I never expected. Love your vids
Right? That had nothing to do with the video, or even any point he was making. He just spoiled it just for the sake of fitting a spoiler in.
They do that ALL THE TIME.
@@emperorbaileyI think they mostly assume if a movie came out five years ago they can talk about what happened without signposting it
The gag of James going to Italy is one of my favorites - right up there with when he 'read' The Hobbit
Pitch for Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man's version of J. Jonah Jameson:
- Make him Scottish
- Give him the one f-bomb that a PG-13 rating allows
- CAST PETER CAPALDI
Oh damn that's incredible casting right there
if only R Lee Ermy were still alive...
Gold
Now I’m just imaging J Jonah Jameson just being censored but only one gets through
I disagree with everything but the F-bomb. Making JJJ anything but American is weird imo, and I'm not even from the U.S. Plus I hate New York. Even still, he needs to be a New York asshole for his character to work. I'd be fine with Capaldi as a new character or villain though.
Know what Peter could've done, to prove he wasn't Spider-Man? Ask a Skrull to duplicate him. Skrulls like the ones who were part of SHIELD and directly interacting with/helping him throughout this movie. Put real Peter in the suit, let him jump around and shoot webs. Meanwhile, Skrull Peter stands there in regular clothes and is like "look, there's Spider-Man and I'm not him". Case closed. Anyway, exceptional video as usual pals -- Iron Man in Italy, good work, etc.
I mean, given the kinds of conspiracy theories people come up with in the real world...I don't know.
I know they are work arounds to convince people he's not Spider-Man, the problem is he'd be in the public eye and everyone would want to know why would he be accused of being Spider-Man instead of someone else. Even if they convinced people he wasn't Spider-Man people would probably not leave him alone.
He doesn't know about them, so how could he have done that?
What's funny is in the comics Peter essentially did the inverse to disprove it. He had Hobie Brown dress up as Spider-Man and went "Hey there's Spider-Man, guess I can't be him huh"
@@dastvan8002 "Peter Parker is LYING! He IS Spider-Man! He just teamed up with shapeshifting green lizard aliens working with the shadow government to secretly invade our planet to create a decoy Spider-Man to make me look like a liar! It's all so OBVIOUS!"
They showed Iron Man in Australia too! No need to go all the way to Rome to see it, ya silly.
G’day boys it’s me, Scan Lee. Get on ya back
the REAL Scan Leigh - creator of Spider-Men, The Fant4stic Four & Professor Ex - would know how to spell his own name.more like scam lee
You can leave now
Can’t wait for this to be in the trilogy compilation video
I'm really only watching this to prep myself for the compilation
6:55 Ben and/or Laurence, you didn't need to add the clip of Gwyneth Paltrow forgetting she was in Spider-Man, but I'm glad you did.
Bloody Spiderman more like Iron Boy!!!! Ha! Got em!!!
Wow I totally LOL'd at that
Bloody! Hell! That's bloody funny 🤣 so funny it's probably the bloodiest bloody comment I've ever had the chance to hell and bloody 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Whoever edited that satelite fight needs a raise
Flip-guy is actually a recurring character; he posted the Bus Boy video in Shang-Chi. "I used to do some martial arts so I'm gonna rate this fight right now..."
James is every student who studies abroad and then spends the next two years bending over backwards to tell anyone they encounter about how that one semester changed their life.
Yes!!!!!
reminds me of the time I went to Sweden for a job interview with Ikea....
Me...
I love hearing the anecdotes of James, world traveller.
The more we learn the better
Fun Fact: As pointed out in the video, there’s gradually less blue in Peter’s suits. They decided Spidey needed a change in his color scheme and went through various different versions of suits to lessen or just eliminate the blue from it. Essentially harvesting the blue out of the suit. As a result, they decided to make the working title of this movie Blue Harvest, which coincidentally was the working title of Return of the Jedi
Man, I'm always blown way at how ON POINT Maso and James' running gags are. Bloody talented at making me laugh, these two gents.
People say the Sinister Six isn’t in No Way Home, but I’d argue Mysterio takes that 6th spot in spirit. Plus he caused the problems.
I mean he was literally supposed to be there since there's concept art of him fighting Doctor Strange at the statue of liberty but for some reason they cut it. There could be an entire movie of all the things that were supposed to happen that never made it to the final cut.
@@Lonequacker Probably from the version that had America Chavez in it, before they changed the release order and retooled em.
Maybe the real Sinister Six was the Mysterio that got it underway
@@LonequackerI was really hoping that he faked his death but it doesn’t seem like it’s gonna happen
The real sinister six was inside us all along
Ben and Lawrence are always amazing and their abilities are never in question. How do I know that? They heard, "cleans the fish bowl from the inside by licking it," AND THEY FOUND FOOTAGE OF THAT. JUST HOW?!
Your job is hard. Your job is good. You are gods.
One of my favourite movie memories ever was watching my family react to the twist in this movie. They had no history with the comics, so the reveal completely surprised them!
Honestly I think that’s why this movie gets unnecessary hate (yes I know there are valid criticisms/opinions) because it kinda relies on the twist but if you already know mysterio is bad it’s kinda just a filler movie. That’s not to say that a movie can’t still be enjoyable if you’ve already seen/know the twist. Sixth sense and fight club are a testament to that
The BEST post credit scene in MCU history.
@@jgamez106 I've been reading Spidey comics for 30 years and I loved the twist! I thought it was fun trying to see where the turn would come from, and that bar disintegrating was a great reveal. If you watch it back, there's even a few camera moves that are designed as if they're following actual (invisible) Mysterio so you can see where they're swapping the projected version. When they're sitting on the roof and Mysterio flies over to him, the camera's actually tracking where Beck would be walking up behind him to sit down.
These vacation pics of James?
KEEP ‘EM COMING
The shoutout for that spiderman teapot makes me think James and Maso are sponsored by big teapot
They clearly said it was little teapot.
Was in the middle of a pretty brutal mental breakdown and depressive state and it’s so weird that a video from two English blokes I’ve never met about a comic movie I haven’t watched in years makes me feel a little better
They're Australian.
12:20 I cant believe they didnt show the clip from the Spider-Man 2 PS2 game where you punch Mysterio one time and he's defeated.
Underrated movie honestly. Plus it has one of the best scores in the entire MCU. It slaps so hard.
Yet another spider man movie without Corn of Coblin, sigh

Garfield is my favorite Spiderman. Holland is my favorite Peter Parker though.
Garfield's movies....they just reek of boomer writers going "What do Millennials like, I seem them on skateboards, right? Yeah, Skateboards" Hello fellow kids.
Garfield’s peter Parker is better in the sequel, just caught in a messy movie unfortunately

Ice Cube as J Jonah Jameson would feel like an awesome casting choice
the spiderman do a flip guy is in Shang Chi
No he isn’t 😂
@Yes he is. He’s on the bus in the beginning of the movie, multiple lines, prominent actor in that scene.
He's the guy that knows Kung Fu LMFAO 😂
All I have gleamed from this is that James saw iron man in Rome in 2008
I nearly spat out my drink at 15:15 BANG
My favorite tid bit about Aunt May's age was how odd it is that a teenage boy has an aunt who looks old enough to be his great grand mother. Like he's like 16 and she's 70. His mom could reasonably be around her 30s maybe even 40s, and it's just odd (not impossible) that people expect May to be that much older
It's one of those carryovers from his origin being in 1965. If Uncle Ben's 70 he could've been born in 1895 after Ellis island opened up in 1893. Assuming grand daddy Parker was 18, Richard could've been easily born in 1915 and been 35 when Peter was born. Two world wars and a depression can really explain a big age gap between siblings. And that's without getting into the murky waters of 1895 society and how young grandma Parker could've been, or second wife.
The tone when james picked up he said expresso instead of espresso was hillarious
I knew the tulip scene was CGI.
There's no way Marvel would pay a farmer for the loss of their tulips, flowers are a rediculously huge export!
... But I was fooled by how good the CGI looked.
I personally feel that the spider-sense scene where he’s fighting the drones to get to Mysterio is so underrated. It’s one of my favourite scenes
I mean what we can take away from this review is James went to Rome in 2008 to see Iron man
Look forward to seeing people send death threats to Maso for his perfectly valid points about No Way Home next week
Proud return of "I'm a man of the world, mason. I've traveled."
Mysterio is 100% not dead. He played dead and Pete asked EDITH “is this real?”, not “is he breathing”. He’s playing dead.
My idea for a garfield universe j jonah jameson: Gary Oldman
Then him and jk Simmons would have both played jameson and commissioner gordon
Bloody hell they’ve made a Madame Webb sequel already? Kevin Feige is off his rocker!
I like the funny little titles. I hope the next trilogy (if there even is a trilogy) has another word in every title like “Home”.
i don't mind the shared word concept but the second two titles are so bad.
Next one will be "House" 😂
Your banter is off the charts this episode! "You wouldn't know. You've never been to Italy!" LOL!
That guy who told spiderman to do a flip is doing pretty well actually, he was in Severance and recently he was in the new Fallout series. Good on him. Started as a featured extra now we here.
No Brexit in this universe. Just going to London on a whim, no visas no plans.
Brexit has happened by the time of Secret Invasion, they say something like "EU leaders plus the UK prime minister"
@@stanley5745 SM NWM takes place 5 years after the blip (2018-2023). But I didn't watch secret invasion.
“You did that flip too good you embarrassed me” 🤣🤣🤣
I just now realized that both Quicksilvers were on Kick-Ass
This isn't the best Spidey film, but Mysterio might be my favorite villain. Jake Gyllenhaal is fantastic and looks amazing. Both the comic accurate suit and the reveal of the motion capture suit are great. And I think the illusion scene in Germany and the final blind hallway fight are great Spider-Man moments.
I love love love this movie!
Maybe not a perfect Spider-Man film but it is so fun and easy to watch, every single actor on top form.
One of my favourite MCU movies with Iron Man, Avengers, Winter Soldier, Civil War, Infinity War, Guardians 1 2 and 3
15:26 The sass, quipiness, and smart ass humor from you guys is just 🤌 lol.

young james looks like mac from it's always sunny lmao
Shout out to the beautiful edit from X-men2 smoke, into the visual effects smoke of Myserios team. Beautiful. Good job Ben.. or whoever edits these.
I always thought Andrew was a better peter/spidey than Toby, but Toby had better villians. Tom Holland was a good balance between the two.
One thing about watching this channel long enough is that you already know a lot of James's stories. So when he starts bangin' on about when he went to Italy, we can fully be in Mason's shoes like "here he goes again..." 🙄
From what I've seen in some Facebook groups apparently Spider-Man fans don't like this one. I personally think all three of the MCU Spidey flicks are pretty solid. I think I like homecoming the best but I thought this one was pretty good. The scene of mysterio exposition dumping everybody's motive in the bar was kind of cringy, but I thought they did a great interpretation of the character to be able to fit into these movies. Some of those illusion scenes felt like they were ripped straight from a comic. And they do a great job of really making Peter vulnerable, despite the fact that they did this version of the character with a connection to iron Man for his origin, I think they still capture a lot of the essence of Spider-Man as a character either way
I can't believe you guys didn't talk about the scene with all the ex-Stark employees at the bar. I thought the movie was pretty "meh" overall, but to me that scene stood out as one of the highlights.
Should have spoken about that time you went to Italy to see Ironman.
I'd like the movie much more if it wasn't for the love triangle honestly. The reason I liked Homecoming so much was how they didn't go with all of the Hollywood high school clichés and made the humor much more more authentic, but the high school drama in this one is just kinda boring.
Mysterio is one of my favorite Spiderman villains though, they perfectly showed how his illusions make him a threat. Amazing design and acting! His leitmotif is really underrated too, it's great.
Appropriately, I saw this movie on a Maryland AMC during me and Dad's epic 2019 US summer trip, so Spider-Man wasn't just the only one...FAR FROM HOME. From Puerto Rico, that is.
#SPUMMnaissance
I remember being so excited/amused by the idea of Ice Cube JJJ LOL
Maso, thanks for calling out the "expresso" so we don't have to
James may have been to Italy, but Maso has seen Disney’s 2022 Pinocchio. Which is basically the same thing. If not better.
Gotta love how film Twitter turned on this movie so hard, they act as if John Watts just filmed Tom Holland teabagging everyone’s mother for 140 minutes straight. This movie is a banger and I’ll stand by it
Wow... paint in 2 mil tulips... The only thing that I found strange about that scene was the fact that it was summer in Europe and tulips bloom in April. At least, here in Romania. I'm not sure about The Netherlands.
The movie may have released in summer but it wasn’t even filmed the year it was released in. You know movies are filmed about a year before released right?
@@imanoldurango8213 Of course I know! I'm 40, not 4! Their trip takes place during summer holidays, not spring break. So, no tulips in bloom in the summer. But everyone in the world knows tulip fields equals The Netherlands, so they've used that to let us know where Spider-Man woke up. I love flowers, i know stuff about them, so it stands out to me that something wasn't ok in that scene. So, chill! Don't tell me you've never noticed something in a scene that you knew it didn't belong!
What gets me is that all three of these movies have a scene where someone walks in on Peter while he’s not fully clothed and he gets all flabbergasted. Someone working on these really thinks that gag is hilarious.
To be fair, that is a classic movie gag as well as a constant thing in Spiderman stories. There were similar scenes with Toby and with Andrew in the other films. Hell, it happens in the comics. I agree it's a little overdone, but I can think of worse repetition personally.
Recently, being a certified barista, I really appreciate all the coffee knowledge
This is still my favorite of the three. I’m excited to hear you rip No Way Home’s plotholes a new one.
Noo, where's the Green Triva and the Rodney supercut! 😖☹️😨
I know this is probably seen as the weakest of the trilogy, but I still love Jake's performance as he absolutely sells every scene of Quenton Beck's part. And of course, the drone scene was something we haven't really seen in a Spider-Man movie at all.
Really??? In my opinion it's easily the best of the trilogy.
@@spartanB0292 This movie is such a piece of garbage. I'd go as far as saying its not just the worst in the trilogy, but the worst Spider-Man movie.
@@TableCreed Opinions are subjective, but you're objectively wrong lol. It's better than Spiderman 3 and both Garfield movies easily.
@@BabyCalisthenics I wholeheartedly disagree. Far From Home has a fundamental problem that neither Spider-Man 3 or TASM2 have. Far From Home doesn't take itself seriously, even by the standards of a comedy. The film is on a very thin line between a movie and a 2 hour long SNL skit. The characters speak as if they are aware there's a camera in front of them. It's utterly unbearable. I needn't go any further than the FFH bus scene. Sure, Spider-Man 3 and TASM2 go off the rails but at least they're trying to be movies.

No lie, I was in Italy when this came out and I called multiple movie theaters asking if they were playing it in English. Most places told me they were only playing it in Italian, and that they only showed one movie per week in English. I was flabbergasted that they didn't choose this massive movie and instead went with some indie drab. Finally, after weeks of searching, I found a theatre in Rome that had it in English. Perhaps the same cinema James saw Iron Man.
Also my middle name is James and I too have a secret gay relationship with a friend named Nick so perhaps we are the same person.
