It doesn't make sense that combing will make the hair block less laser light. It would just create mild rows with more blockage where hair is bunched together, and it also depends on the length (too short = no rows held in place) and curliness of the hair. Also, the models in these ads always seem to have too much hair to need the product!

Looks like tedious effort vs. a helmet. You have to hold you arm up and always pay attention, and people get lazy or weary of routines.
