- Why was static shock cancelled. You would think that a cartoon only second to Pokémon would have been on just as long but unfortunately you companies didn’t think it was worth marketing even though there were millions watching. I wonder why

@@TheDAExperience absolutely ! I think it's pretty obvious! What a loss! This was a fantastic show! I'm a white guy and I loved it! it's such a shame that people couldn't see how profitable this would be! Although i think it's a shame that so much of the cartoon world are tied to merchandising! Too bad this show could just stand on it's two feet w/o merchandising! But no! No merchandising, then the show has to go apparently!
I liked Static Shock myself. I think it should make a live action adaptation movie
A similar thing happened to courage the cowardly dog. Hard to merchandise a pink dog to kids in the early 2000s specifically boys.

That really doesn't make any sense considering the characters on Static Shock
They could've had more dope seasons two... static got even stronger with his power and Ebon and Hot Streak fused together.... would've been dope plus they could've made more bang babies with that gas release.... so much could've had happened.
Wasn't making enough money. Now it would be golden because there are so many media outlets but then cartoons needed to sell toys keep a slot. It's business.
Depending on how you see it, to me, the fact that it didn't have a toy line is a good thing. I mean, look at Sym-Bionic Titan.

As a kid I always complained about no Static Shock toys.
It was canceled becouse it was attached to the dcau toy sales was only a small part of it.
At the time maintaining the dc animated universe was to expensive and annoying so they dropped any series that was apart of it.
This is why teen titans had zero dcau references and proactively worked in a smaller universe.
But I know justice league and JLU had toys and didn’t they come after static so I’m confused why they didn’t even make anything at all shirts lunch boxes nothing really

While yes toy sales were a factor in it closing the high ratings were enough to let it get 5 seasons so they weren't that important.
Ultimately it was canceled becouse Warner wanted everything related to the dcau to get axed.
It was the main reason according to McDuffie. It was similar to the reason Young Justice got canceled before. The difference being that got canceled because of too low toy sales whereas Static Shock didn't get merchandise at all because companies thought it wouldn't sell. It being part of the DCAU, which it wasn't at first, had nothing to do with it. By the way it had 4 seasons not 5.
The problem is the toys suck, not the character. Beast War Toys were awesome. Bionicles were awesome

@@TheDAExperience the static shock toys? They weren’t cool toys. It’s same with Young Justice they cancelled them because of poor toy sales as well. But again those toys weren’t cool so no one would buy them. If they want people to buy their merchandise they need to put out a good product
@@D2attemp Thats what I'm saying static had no toys except a add on for a Subway kids meal. They didn't make a card stock toy, no shirts, no luchboxes, no note pads folders anything. I listed Everything that was made in the FIVE years the show was on. They didn't even do a comic and they own a comic book studio
