I love how she admits to feeling nothing after shooting someone in the face and robbing him, yet immediately pats herself on the back for deciding later that he didn't deserve it, larping like she's actually got a conscience.
It's chilling watching her smiling just chatting like it's small talk. How you phrased "larping like she has a conscience" is really good way to understand it. If you came up with that, CHEERS!
The crazy thing is there are communities and pockets of society practically made up of people like this. They might be people like the King of Belgium too, though, the Chief of Police, or even more likely, your children's school superintendant. They are everywhere, more than you know. However, sometimes young brains change. Also, because I grew up with and have dealt with so many people like this, including teachers and peers, I think of it as normal for other people. It is a scary world because more of them are free than behind bars.
I love how Trevor makes her admit that she shot him after her feeble "then he got shot..." nonsense. As if he walked into the path of the bullet on purpose. 🙄 She is exactly where she belongs, might as well throw away the key.
Martin, I don't think you could have chosen a more succinct or compelling example. This woman is literally beaming when discussing what she did. Very glad the interviewer called her out on the fact that "she" shot him, not like he got caught in the cross-fire of a gun fight. Keep up the great work Martin. Hope you and your family are doing well! Thank you from a Canadian fan!
Her smiling when she talks about robbing and shooting this man is creepy AF. I doubt she felt bad for what she did, she feels bad because she was caught.
@Gal De Som Actually, she initially says that she didn't feel bad but then she says "after the fact, I felt bad". My point is, after the fact, her feeling bad was not due to some remorse for what she did, it was due to her getting caught.
@@valentincavazzos4420 no she really doesn’t. She probably just thinks it’s against the law so she is in jail but psychopaths never realize anything, their brain is completely different.
Well she’s happy with herself and she’s right where she should be, I hope her sentence is long. Poor guy, I have more remorse and feelings for his pain than she does.
Imagine the lack of human emotion shooting someone straight in the face. No human emotions just another breathing creature on this earth. Would she trade places with his blind eye? The victim was scarred for life in multiple ways obviously
She looks pleased and is smiling at 'shooting him in the face, now he's blind.' If the interviewer broke out laughing at this, (she looked like she wanted to), she would have heartily joined in and thought it was great. She's sadistic.
A comment was made in regards to how human behaviour has deteriorated over the last 30years.This would seem to correlate with the beginnings of social media. Once an interaction with another individual became somewhat anonymous so did the behaviour, Looking at a screen rather than the face of another human being, there was no accountability therefor keyboard warriors (weak, insecure individuals) suddenly found their inside voice which should never have been allowed out. Just my observation. Remember kindness is free, no harm in spreading that. 🤗 Peace and love to all 💖
I heard a statistic that 1 in 13 people have sociopathic traits. When you take into consideration that not all are violent or break the law, it's not hard to believe. Lawyers, cops, salesmen, scammers, look around, it is on a spectrum but it's not uncommon. What causes it?
Think it's both nature and nurture. Years of abusive behaviour from my dad has made it hard for me to feel certain emotions - I unintentionally hurt people's feelings because my behaviours in the face of certain situations isn't normal anymore.
I believe part of it is related to how society has changed in the last 30 years or so. “Political correctness” went too far because individuals became wary of calling out inappropriate behavior. There may be a genetic predisposition for people to tend to display narcissistic traits, but I don’t believe that the percentage of people with such tendencies has changed. What has happened is we’ve removed the guard rails. Kids and young adults demonstrating narcissistic behaviors rarely face consequences anymore. When they get by with victimizing someone in a subtle way, it drives them to worse and worse behavior, whereas in the past, most would have faced consequences at a young age that curbed their impulses so that they “colored between the lines,” more or less. Also, monolithic bureaucracy inherent in just about every part of our lives, and that enriches the political/ media/ Hollywood elite, enables the corrupt and the incompetent. They stay hidden. And many people that have been unfairly treated, give up fighting for justice because the time, energy, and cost will outweigh the value of whatever they were deprived of in the first place. This comment is NOT about Ds versus Rs, conservative versus liberal, etc. The political elite sit on both sides of the aisle.
@@folkloreofbeing Hello there, which emotions are harder for you to feel now? I really hope you don’t mind me asking this; I am just curious due to personal experience 👍.
This has that classic quality of "The gun went off." which I've heard so many times (instead of "I shot him." or "I pulled the trigger." ) Martin, do you think she realizes how much she's smiling, and is it on purpose? As always, great clip to see.
Ok why is she smiling though? like girl you shot a man in the face and you're smirking over the fact that he's blind in that eye now? Is she proud of that or somethin....
She's getting attention which is the lifeblood of the Narcissist. She has no empathy, and while she's remembering the murder she's getting a dopamine hit to the pleasure centres of her brain, while she revels in her complete power over the victim. Gaining power and asserting control are the aim of the Narcissist in every interaction with others. Narcissists thrive on schadenfreude, they smirk at and enjoy others' misfortune which accords with their real persona, being arrogant, envious and antagonistic, full of churning fury and spite. Blame-shifting and deflecting, stonewalling on truth, endless lies and trying to twist reality so they appear as the good guy or the victim is part of Narcissism. It's a deeply hardwired defense mechanism. See HG Tudor's UA-cam channel which is specifically about aspects of Narcissism and relationships with Narcissists.. I've learned a lot from him. He's a diagnosed Narcissist sociopath, and knows his kind inside out.
@@caroliner2029 There is no such diagnosis called Sociopathy, and narcissism is on a spectrum unless it's pathological, meaning it also wouldn't be a disorder, but a personality trait. Many people are making content, claiming to be clinicians. I wouldn't trust any source claiming to have been diagnosed with a nonexistent disorder.
But if she was born this way... this is what it means to be sick, right? This is the best she can do. She can only understand it, conceptually, that she comitted an injustice. She genuinely doesn't understand because she cannot empathize. I liked this documentary and I'm liking your channel, Martin!
She’s DEFINITELY trying to mimic, but ONLY with WORDS & logic, the character traits of normal people, when talking about an innocent man’s life & hurting the man. She doesn’t even try to mimic emotions, and she’s smiling to show the interviewer that she’s kind enough to talk to him about it & kind enough to “see the logic” of “almost taking an innocent man’s life”, and does not even realize that her smiles betray her, and do NOT show she’s a good person by being cordial with the interviewer.
My first thought, I hope I am allowed to say it is "blo dy hell", she looks proud of shooting a human being in the face, she should be sent straight to DR no appeals

She will be a danger to society for a long time
Hope Martin says something about the smiles when she said “we shot him” and “in the left side of his face”. She’s practically beaming with pride
