It appears to me that she took extra care to ensure she looked "perfect" for the camera: mascara, lip gloss, her hair arranged "just so," the soft voice, the deviant smile, sitting with her good [left] side to the camera (I've never seen her positioned with her right side).

She reminds me of my mother. My mother never killed anyone... but that narcissistic shifting the blame behavior is spot on. Always defending and placing blame elsewhere, never accepting that they were wrong. Always defending. Always claiming its everyone else "attacking" them. Narcissistic people are a certain level of evil that cannot be handled.

I’ve been out of an abusive relationship for about 11 years, and I still have residual effects from it. I still have some level of PTSD, and this is after counseling, self-healing, clear understanding, and still trying to build strong boundaries.
When I initially left, there was no way I could be able to give testimony without bursting into tears just having to talk about the abuse; and, in addition, if I had murdered him, I would have been filled with so much remorse. I would have done anything to help expedite the trial. She is a complete psycho. She was the abuser!

The whole idea that a man with no recorded history of violence would snap when she dropped his new camera and that anyone would buy that is so absurd that it reveals she can't really relate to adult thinking. I'm surprised her lawyers let her argue that. It would go against her self-preserving nature but if she said that Travis snapped after she told him she recorded their sex talk, she'd have a stronger case.

I think it was weird how Travis tried to get her involved in his religion which spoke against relations before marriage and then acted like a hypocrite by encouraging her to do pervert things, and then not treating her that well by only seeming to have used her. Although women get used all the time by men but don't kill them for it.

    • @allthingsfairy
      @allthingsfairy 3 роки тому +19

She means to say, if you plan to murder someone, make sure to fabricate a lot more “documentation of abuse” than she managed to do, and if she had fabricated more, and did a better job of her alibi building, she would have “sold” everyone on her experience of being in an abusive relationship, and finally might not have been convicted. The jury got this case right, and she is where she belongs. She proved herself the cold blooded murderer she is. Travis’s family were robbed simply because of her narcissism, ego, and these interviews were such a great source of supply for her. Hope she got a lot from them, as prison is a lonely place for a narcissist, even if they do feel superior to everyone else, they need some sort of audience to view their superiority! Good riddance to bad rubbish!

@Rhiannon I understand, but if my ex husband had found ANY documentation of his abuse, he’d have killed me. I was too afraid to even tell a best friend. How do you document something and hide it well enough that he won’t find it? I was too afraid to sneeze in case I made him jump and he lashed out at me. Fear....is a truly powerful tool. Travis was her ticket to a better life. Instant family, instant friends, acceptance into a church group, social status as Travis’ girlfriend/wife, Financial security, ect. She needed Travis much more than he needed her. She just couldn’t deal with his rejection. She killed him in a jealous rage. I’m glad Jodi is in prison and I hope she never gets out. She comes across as far too composed and too cocky and quick to answer here to be a genuine victim of abuse - as someone who'd been reduced to retaliating in a manner which she felt she couldn't control or help at the time of a sponteous attack after being driven to despair. She would be sobbing and angry at being put in that position and it would be evident in the interview too. The anger would be intense - the re-victimisation. First the abuse, then the crime that would put them in prison as further abuse.
There wouldn't be any recordings at the house before the murder or any attempts to cover her tracks by buying petrol in cash en route to his house either. Only a narcissists would believe they could get out from under this evidence. Someone not narcissistic would have confessed a long time ago, shown remorse and pled guilty. They would have been given parole eventually because the parole board would see that their predicament at the time was highly unlikely to be repeated if they were watchful of the types of abusive relationships they should avoid. For someone who pleads not guilty, uses guile and deception to make themselves look good at the expense of the victim who can't even defend themselves and also powders her nose before interviews on the subject so horrible as murder of an ex-boyfriend just shows how wildly delusional and narcissistic she is. That behaviour shows that she is devoid of any feelings at all and remorse and is guilty as hell of a premedidated murder. In this case, due to her insane jealousy. The clues are glaringly evidence all along. Real victims of retaliatory murder are confused, angry, hurt and upset and would overtly muddle their words and fumble over thoughts and memories because certain situations they hadn't premeditated and thought through needed pauses to answer. None of thise traits were displayed by Jodie who remained calm, composed, conscious of her appearance and articulate whilst answering almost instantly the questions posed toward her.
Like all narcissists, she's the type that almost remains calm whilst stirring up vile amounts of anger in those they are victimising and abusing and lying to. They have no feelings at all.

To me, the uneducated, it seems like she was trying to "be the bigger person" when she immediately responds that yes, she still loves Travis. Who else would love a person who did to them what she's alleging? Only with the follow-up question does she realize she's going to have to explain herself--thus, the pause, and the unusually ill-prepared, insufficient response.
Edit: Also, her mistake here isn't killing Travis, it's not documenting the abuse.
And she's lying about knowing about other women. She knew about Mimi. She admits it in her police interview.

Thanks so much. Your analysis is enlightening and clarifies so much of these people’s behaviours. When I listen to them, it feels off deep in my gut. There is something innately wrong with the things they say, and the way you break down their word usage, etc explains exactly why. They often send chills down my spine. Thank you!!! Thank you, Martin, for sharing this psychological verbal analysis of Jodi Arias with us YT viewers. I'm convinced that Ms. Arias is not only a cold-blooded killer & chronic liar, but also a narcissistic sociopath with grandiose feelings about herself, and refuses to admit she was at fault. Disturbing how she smiles throughout most of the interview. . !
Poor Travis didn't deserve to be butchered by her. He might have lived had he called their relationship quits once and for all.

In her first interview, when she's left alone, she quietly sings a verse of the Christmas song, O Holy Night. Strange for it being June. Then again in the prison karaoke video she chooses that song, and her words 'o night divine' kinda sent chills up my arms. I wonder if that wasn't some strange jodi theme song of sorts for her unfortunate defense accident on that night -o night divine- that she butchered Travis.

Yes, she seems to ‘borrow’ emotions. Describing what she’s learned to say about feelings rather than an expression of feelings. I could be off the mark here but isn’t that sociopathic behavior? There’s the word. He just said what I was thinking, as if she’s a ‘spectator’’; speaking about herself from someone else’s perspective, not her own. She seems to ‘frame’ her wording as she goes along, playing off the interviewer vs. having her own ideas, if that makes any sense. I know this is an interview designed to be between two people. It certainly seems as if she could not make a statement to an audience without the interviewer if given the opportunity. Like she has to have prompting.
Support mail? That’s a new one! Is that new urban slang? Or is that one her contribution to urban lingo? What a case study this one is, to be sure!

Would also be interested in a linguistic analysis of the student council-like presentation to the jury when she was "pleading" for life in prison as opposed to death row (Jodi doesn't plead--it would be demeaning!) and/or the moment, just minutes before the judge sentenced her, when she "suddenly remembered" slitting her victim's throat after years of "a fog" where her memory should be.
