I’ve been out of an abusive relationship for about 11 years, and I still have residual effects from it. I still have some level of PTSD, and this is after counseling, self-healing, clear understanding, and still trying to build strong boundaries. When I initially left, there was no way I could be able to give testimony without bursting into tears just having to talk about the abuse; and, in addition, if I had murdered him, I would have been filled with so much remorse. I would have done anything to help expedite the trial. She is a complete psycho. She was the abuser!
@Julie Anne Olson Exactly. Just the mere thought of my abuser's face, even years later, sends a jolt of fear down my spine as if my life is in immediate danger. Those who have been through it themselves get it. Those who dont say rubbish like Renee did.
Great analysis. The whole trial was a study in psychopathic control. Her whole defence team morphed into her malignant teenage persona in their own way. So glad she will never get out of jail alive.
The whole idea that a man with no recorded history of violence would snap when she dropped his new camera and that anyone would buy that is so absurd that it reveals she can't really relate to adult thinking. I'm surprised her lawyers let her argue that. It would go against her self-preserving nature but if she said that Travis snapped after she told him she recorded their sex talk, she'd have a stronger case.

I often wondered how anyone could defend her. After research, I discovered that the head male attorney asked to be removed from the case because JA was "hitting on" him! She means to say, if you plan to murder someone, make sure to fabricate a lot more “documentation of abuse” than she managed to do, and if she had fabricated more, and did a better job of her alibi building, she would have “sold” everyone on her experience of being in an abusive relationship, and finally might not have been convicted. Martin, this channel is amazing. You shine a bright light on that which can be taken for granted or overlooked , Language. I find your commentary facinating, THANK YOU!
This woman is so evil and calculated and you can tell she doesn't feel anything. The way she speaks and mentions " I don't know if you noticed" her entire focus is on how she is being perceived rather than how she feels. She's very disconnected from her emotions, all she cares about is her image.
Jodi don’t have much going for her. She was an uneducated waitress with few friends, few family connections, dead end jobs and relationships that were going nowhere. Travis was her ticket to a better life. Instant family, instant friends, acceptance into a church group, social status as Travis’ girlfriend/wife, Financial security, ect. She needed Travis much more than he needed her. She just couldn’t deal with his rejection. She killed him in a jealous rage. I’m glad Jodi is in prison and I hope she never gets out. Her life must be miserable now.
She was young though. I don't expect to have a hige network at that age. I think anyone that paid her attention was going to have a big problem getting rid of her. I agree, she thought travis was the big time compared to her life.
Bit late commenting on a two year old comment, but if you see this comment - I have the same interests and I'm wondering if you know about any other similar good channels for this kind of analysis content?
Oh she documented what she went through......they found the memory card for her camera in the washer!🙄 This is one of the lizard people conspiracy theorist are screaming about. It's disturbing how hollow and yet poised her mannerisms are. Throughout the interviews I was seriously waiting for her to short circuit and make that crazy screeching noise from "The Thing".
She comes across as far too composed and too cocky and quick to answer here to be a genuine victim of abuse - as someone who'd been reduced to retaliating in a manner which she felt she couldn't control or help at the time of a sponteous attack after being driven to despair. She would be sobbing and angry at being put in that position and it would be evident in the interview too. The anger would be intense - the re-victimisation. First the abuse, then the crime that would put them in prison as further abuse. There wouldn't be any recordings at the house before the murder or any attempts to cover her tracks by buying petrol in cash en route to his house either. Only a narcissists would believe they could get out from under this evidence. Someone not narcissistic would have confessed a long time ago, shown remorse and pled guilty. They would have been given parole eventually because the parole board would see that their predicament at the time was highly unlikely to be repeated if they were watchful of the types of abusive relationships they should avoid. For someone who pleads not guilty, uses guile and deception to make themselves look good at the expense of the victim who can't even defend themselves and also powders her nose before interviews on the subject so horrible as murder of an ex-boyfriend just shows how wildly delusional and narcissistic she is. That behaviour shows that she is devoid of any feelings at all and remorse and is guilty as hell of a premedidated murder. In this case, due to her insane jealousy. The clues are glaringly evidence all along. Real victims of retaliatory murder are confused, angry, hurt and upset and would overtly muddle their words and fumble over thoughts and memories because certain situations they hadn't premeditated and thought through needed pauses to answer. None of thise traits were displayed by Jodie who remained calm, composed, conscious of her appearance and articulate whilst answering almost instantly the questions posed toward her. Like all narcissists, she's the type that almost remains calm whilst stirring up vile amounts of anger in those they are victimising and abusing and lying to. They have no feelings at all.
Wow. I am so glad and thankful I found this channel. I have been around toxic people all my life and slowly I am taking steps to save me and my family from manipulation. Thank you. Your videos will help us a lot.
To me, the uneducated, it seems like she was trying to "be the bigger person" when she immediately responds that yes, she still loves Travis. Who else would love a person who did to them what she's alleging? Only with the follow-up question does she realize she's going to have to explain herself--thus, the pause, and the unusually ill-prepared, insufficient response. Edit: Also, her mistake here isn't killing Travis, it's not documenting the abuse. And she's lying about knowing about other women. She knew about Mimi. She admits it in her police interview.
I know this is about observing verbal communication but you can’t help but notice the grin on her face that is almost permanent through out the entire interview and in every interview every time she is talking!
Thanks so much. Your analysis is enlightening and clarifies so much of these people’s behaviours. When I listen to them, it feels off deep in my gut. There is something innately wrong with the things they say, and the way you break down their word usage, etc explains exactly why. They often send chills down my spine. Thank you!!! I can’t get enough.
Thank you, Martin, for sharing this psychological verbal analysis of Jodi Arias with us YT viewers. I'm convinced that Ms. Arias is not only a cold-blooded killer & chronic liar, but also a narcissistic sociopath with grandiose feelings about herself, and refuses to admit she was at fault. Disturbing how she smiles throughout most of the interview. . ! Poor Travis didn't deserve to be butchered by her. He might have lived had he called their relationship quits once and for all. 🙀🙀😱😱😿
I never noticed until now, but even her sighs are fake. Every time she sighs it comes out so forced and never feels genuine. She's just an empty shell trying to imitate normal human interactions and emotions.
Thank you for explaining people using “honestly” in their conversation. I may have seen this on another of your videos. I always tune in when they say this because if you tell the truth, you don’t need to preface it with “honestly.”
She has always been in such pain, and in reality hates herself. You are watching a well orchestrated mask of righteousness. Other people are just stage props for such a monster. She is a master manipulator. She is a psychopath, an extreme dysfunctional narcissist. She is at the end of the narcissist spectrum.
I noticed that as she was listening to the interviewer, she barely blinked. I wonder if this was because she was listening intently to work out how to formulate the best answer?
This case shows us that evil has no one form, sociopathic narcissist come in all shapes and sizes. The mask of beauty in this particular case is a prime example of how these monsters walk among us, hidden in plain sight. Just watch for the mask slip they cannot keep up the charade forever. BTW Martin your voice is soothing but also gives an ominous feel to these videos! keep up the good work :)
Martin, thanks so much for your work. The level of quality your videos have show how dedicated you are whilst revealing your talent. The defense team dragged Travis‘s name through the mud through the whole trial I watched it every day. He was a great guy he did not mentally abuse her in anyway he treated her very well not just as a booty call he treated her as a girlfriend, but he was never going to marry her he didn’t lead her on in anyway. They drag his name through the mud. Out of 10,000 text messages he said one where he was mad at her, he sent one email where he was mad at her for some of the crap she did I am so happy she got life without parole. What a liar
not true. He didn’t deserve what happened to him at all but he 100% treated her like a booty call and kept having sex with her months after breaking up with her.
In her first interview, when she's left alone, she quietly sings a verse of the Christmas song, O Holy Night. Strange for it being June. Then again in the prison karaoke video she chooses that song, and her words 'o night divine' kinda sent chills up my arms. I wonder if that wasn't some strange jodi theme song of sorts for her unfortunate defense accident on that night -o night divine- that she butchered Travis.
I think she is such a self centered person that she knew that in the interrogation that it was recorded and thinks she sounds like a wonderful singer thats why she sung it again in jail.
Yes, she seems to ‘borrow’ emotions. Describing what she’s learned to say about feelings rather than an expression of feelings. I could be off the mark here but isn’t that sociopathic behavior? There’s the word. He just said what I was thinking, as if she’s a ‘spectator’’; speaking about herself from someone else’s perspective, not her own. She seems to ‘frame’ her wording as she goes along, playing off the interviewer vs. having her own ideas, if that makes any sense. I know this is an interview designed to be between two people. It certainly seems as if she could not make a statement to an audience without the interviewer if given the opportunity. Like she has to have prompting. Support mail? That’s a new one! Is that new urban slang? Or is that one her contribution to urban lingo? What a case study this one is, to be sure!
"I never wanted any of this to happen" no you wanted to be able to manipulate him and keep him in your grasp permanently, when you realised that he was done with your craziness and controlling behaviour you decided if you couldn't have him nobody else would either
It was embarrassing. I remember thinking it must take a level of narcissism, that I’ve certainly never seen before, to actually present a T shirt with “survivor” written on it. She stabbed Travis 28 times, and carved his throat to the SPINE, and she claimed self defence. She’s disgusting.
Her hypocrisy is off the charts. She's using the t-shirt to try to maintain her facade of being a 'nice' person. Her overblown ego and arrogance make her think that everyone is really stupid and easily fooled.
Yeah ok Jodi, you didn’t document one word, one sentence, one incident, one bruise, one injury, nothing to prove Travis hurt you at all, but yet you found time and made it so important to you to document your phone sex.Hmmm...
0:01 Thank You, Martin, for both showing this young man’s photo and saying his name - most channels do not do this, and only the abusers & murders are shown.
I know she would never answer this honestly, but I'd really like to know if she could rewind time would she do it again? Did she think she could sweet talk herself out of it? Or was her plan to get caught? Almost, to give herself the ultimate ownership over Travis. His last, ever girlfriend. I feel so bad for Travis' family. Not only being brutally murdered, but then the final insult of her trying to frame him as a violent person, who abused her.
Would love a linguistic analysis of some of her testimony, both direct and cross-examination. Would also be interested in a linguistic analysis of the student council-like presentation to the jury when she was "pleading" for life in prison as opposed to death row (Jodi doesn't plead--it would be demeaning!) and/or the moment, just minutes before the judge sentenced her, when she "suddenly remembered" slitting her victim's throat after years of "a fog" where her memory should be.
@@dinarusso3320 oh for sure "my memory is bad when men like you or Travis are yelling at me" or whatever stupid garbage she said that was something like that. Though, I will still never forget the look on her face of pure defeat and shock when shes talking about how she was going to k*** herself but the razor hurt too bad. That it stung. And he said something alone the lines of "if that one cut hurt that bad, can you imagine what Travis felt when you were stabbing him in the chest?". Chills everytime.

This woman is so evil and calculated and you can tell she doesn't feel anything. The way she speaks and mentions " I don't know if you noticed" her entire focus is on how she is being perceived rather than how she feels. She's very disconnected from her emotions, all she cares about is her image.
Those eyes are so dead and black like CW my word!!!
I totally agree !!mark my words!
What does CW stand for?
Heyyyy some of us have very dark colored eyes! That doesn't indicate a psychopath, it's their words and behaviors.
Can you imagine being that young and spending the rest of your life in prison over some dude.
Except everybody around him hated her. He couldn't bring her into his world, she wanted to drag him into HER HELL!
She was young though. I don't expect to have a hige network at that age. I think anyone that paid her attention was going to have a big problem getting rid of her. I agree, she thought travis was the big time compared to her life.

@@JustMe-px9qy big time???
I absolutely love linguistics and discourse analysis, and I also LOVE true crime! Your channel is truly a blessing.
Bit late commenting on a two year old comment, but if you see this comment - I have the same interests and I'm wondering if you know about any other similar good channels for this kind of analysis content?
I would love to hear your analysis of Col. Russell Williams' lengthy interrogation interview and ultimate confession.
Yes!!!!!!!!!! Please
Oh def... I've watched that like 10x... Sooo.creepy.
There is one around in UA-cam but I think Martin will do it nicer 😉.
Your channel is amazing! The way you point out the traits with actions is so educational.
Lol lizzard ppl ! Love it!
Lizzid people!! - Hecklefish
she's plain creepy.
Does anyone think her eyes are creepy and dark. Like a empty darkness..
Cold, black, sharks eyes!
Nicely said lovey.
Wow. I am so glad and thankful I found this channel. I have been around toxic people all my life and slowly I am taking steps to save me and my family from manipulation. Thank you. Your videos will help us a lot.
Good analysis. Very interesting stuff. Glad this channel popped up on my feed. Thanks for the content.
That’s an excellent point... Jodi saying her mistake was not documenting the abuse.
I know this is about observing verbal communication but you can’t help but notice the grin on her face that is almost permanent through out the entire interview and in every interview every time she is talking!
Yep a master manipulater good at her craft
You are very good at this! Thank you!
If Jodi Arias "teared up" she had something in her eye.
Because she's a lizard......she reacts the way a reptile does when you make noise near it.
Working on her lies.
💯
Martin, thanks so much for your work. The level of quality your videos have show how dedicated you are whilst revealing your talent. I love language and knew that I unconsciously use some words and ways to express myself in challenging situations. Only after I listen to what I just said do I realise in which level of stress I'm actually at.. thanks for your many analysis videos because they make clear what otherwise would remain in the shadow 👏👏
Thank you Martin for making these videos! I imagine a lot of work and time goes into making them and I appreciate what you do. It's fascinating learning about CA and SA, and I'm enjoying some of your older videos right now with the more in depth explanations.
She is completely sick smiling in the courtroom! She is proud that she got rid of him so he couldn't move on with his life without her.
She smiled the entire time her sexual experience was played in court with Travis. She enjoyed it!
The picture of him in the morgue gave me nightmares😱
Same. Definitely haunting to see. It was reported that people who believed Jodi would send Travis's autopsy photos to his family. So sick and so sad.
@@Jeskers18 it's astonishing to know how many vile humans there are in our world. So many with a complete lack of empathy.
@@MrsSurrealista He treated her better than you indicate. She was the one OFFERING the booty to keep him. You didn't watch the whole trial I did.
The only mistake Travis made was continuing to have sex with her.
I never knew word choice meant so much!
Great channel!
So much smiling...chilling!!!
Imagine her staring at you while you sleep!!!
Practicing to suppress her emotions....really? WTFF?!!!
Martin .......Thank you for putting his picture 1st .... it shows class
"I was never angry with Travis", yet she stabbed him 27 times and cut his throat, idiotic denial.
After watching these videos...humblebrag really jumps out at me now when people speak. 😏
"I never wanted any of this to happen"
no you wanted to be able to manipulate him and keep him in your grasp permanently, when you realised that he was done with your craziness and controlling behaviour you decided if you couldn't have him nobody else would either
Man, at the end of the trial when Jody Arias was trying to sell her domestic abuse tshirt was so bizarre
Love these videos thank you.
0:01 Thank You, Martin, for both showing this young man’s photo and saying his name - most channels do not do this, and only the abusers & murders are shown.
Brilliant assessment, thanks.
Great channel!
You're awesome! I love your accent!
How did I miss this video?! This is one of your best analysis yet!
You have a wonderful voice and talent.
Tangent: I like your dark attic-like background. Really good and fits since you are speaking about a vile person.
I dont know if I ever felt this much of an urge to slap the smugness off of someone's face in my life. Horrible....horrible "person".
Yes exactly 💯 especially during the trial when she gets sarcastic with the prosecutor!!
She says she should have documented all her " abuse"....but shes kept journals most of her life.
I love your analysis, it's very fascinating to watch what you describe..keep them coming.
Martin's blank stare into the camera makes me uneasy. LOL
Arias - presenting her oh so reasonable mask, belying her inner vengeful self.
She wouldn't turn Travis in because she loved him nut she maliciously killed him, huh...
Just found your channel Martin, and am enjoying your work. Kudos from a new sub. Would LOVE to see you collaborate with a body language analyst sometime. Jodi, for example, has some doozies! (Lots of tongue movements, which I assume are self soothers. )
thanking you for analysis, your voice makes it more interesting then the shouting on other channels
Super informative. Thought I was done learning anything new about Jodi A. Wrong!
That was a very interesting and good assessment of her words. Thank you for the insight.
I love your videos. I thoroughly enjoy your insight and wish you would do more on Jodi Arias. All the interviews, and her time on the stand in her trial.
Fantastic again. This attention to detail is impressive. Great to see your older videos pushed.
she looks and behave the same , the same... as my ex girlfriend....... i found this case few days ago...... good thing is that my ex did not kill me. :) :) :) .. she was narc, and borderline.... drama queen all the way...... i left her one year after we started relationship..... back then i was young and didnt know nothing about cluster B group of mental disorders........ this girl reminds me of her..... she looks the same..... the same facial expressions, the same approach to "responsibility", the sam approach to self ego driven way of life.... and the most idiotic thing is that, my ex had the most violent bursts of jealousy .... etc etc..... pure bitch in any way...but, good thing is that i learned a lot about narcissism and borderline personal disorders...and when you know that, just one look at face and mimics of this bitch, is enough to recognise pathological level of narcissism and psychopathy ......
She didnt kill you... Yet! Watch out. Im not kidding, those kind of ppl dont forget. He want to move on..., and look what happend. Good luck

Same here. At some point mine has broken my cheekbone. Gave her the boot and got together with a normal person...
She is so full of it! Poor Travis laid dead in his shower for 5 days before his body was found. She was so much in love with Travis, but who stabs the one you love 27 times, slashes their neck from ear to ear and shoots them in the face? That type of love nobody wants or needs.
Well said!
Somewhere before this interview she got the idea that beginning every sentence with the word “Well...” makes her sound profound
This case was crazy!!!!
And she still loves him!!! She loves herself and herself only.
Thank you for this video. I enjoy your channel and you are really nice to listen to!
Yes, don't leave the relationship just document the abuse. Good advice for the kids out there, Jodi.
Her point of view......Travis used her ,abused her n left her.....she can't digest it. Don't b so obsessed that you turn out to be a devil. She has no regret of what she has done infact she is satisfied as if no one will ever touch Travis. Those who are obsessed are really mad.
please do meghan markle's interviews!!
YES. Good one
Preferably from prison. She has torn the royal family apart.
The ONLY case Ive analyzed where the subject has 0% self-awareness.It's fascinating.
@MaryJane Blues And 0% EQ (emotional intelligence).
As one of the MANY victim/survivors of ACTUAL domestic violence, this woman is obviously not our ambassador. She never was, never will be. I hope she and her deceptive, egotistical nature find no happiness and rot inside prison for the fatal abuse and harrassment she permeated Travis's life with.
Thankyou Martin! All your videos are so interesting 👍
This is very insightful!
There is no emotions since from the starts.
