We've been waiting to get on some Bull Reds at the jetties and it finally paid off! If y'all have any comments or questions about the venting tool let us know down below. Thanks for watching!
@@SaltySouthernOutdoors Thank you! The one we have we bought at Academy. They have different types but they all serve the same purpose, just personal preference.
Nice bull reds , l have a pen in my tackle bag , yall did a great video last year on how to fill out tag on reds , l'm not getting ticket from game warden
Thanks, Miguel, we really appreciate it! Some of the Game Wardens are very strict when it comes to properly tagging Bull Reds. I've seen people that had filled out the tag but not cut out the date and the Game Warden gave them a citation. Lol
The reel is a Penn International 975 LD and the rod is an American Rodsmith 10' rated 3-8 ounces. They don't make them anymore but when they did, they were a great rod for the money.
Hey, Johnny, I hope you are doing well! We got our venting needle from Academy, they might not sell that exact one anymore. On some of the spoons Ruben likes to use circle hooks that he bounces on the bottom to try and get stuck less.
@johnnycortez46 we have been using roughly 10 feet of 100lb mono leader. This way if we don't bring a gaff it makes it easier to land the fish and of course for the abrasion resistance on the rocks.
@MattsSaltwaterFishing Ok awesome. I don't think 100lb would fit good on my sealine 30s but I think 60 should be fine. This summer i decided to try shock leaders when I actually never have in the past. But never knew what to use. Thx for response my friend👌👌🤘🤘
@johnnycortez46 you are welcome, Johnny! Are you fishing the jetties or the surf? If you are fishing the surf you can definitely get away with less and if fishing the jetties even 40lb to 60lb will be fine. But if a big Jack touches a rock with 40lb it's a goner.
I have to ask because I was told different when purchasing my bonus tag last year....is it only 1 bonus tag or each time you tag you can continuously go back and purchase another ?
It is just 1 Bonus Red Drum Tag for the year. You can read about it from The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department here: tpwd.texas.gov/regulations/outdoor-annual/licenses/fishing-licenses-stamps-tags-packages/fishing-endorsements-and-tags#:~:text=A%20red%20drum%20tag%20will,combination%20and%20lifetime%20fishing%20license.
Welcome to America! This was at the Port Aransas Jetties in Port Aransas, Texas, just 15 miles North of Corpus Christi, Texas. Plenty of hotels and condos in Port A.
Thank you, Marcus, we appreciate it! I will try check out your channel this weekend. I always enjoy seeing other local fishermen that enjoy making videos like us.

Yeah, it was insane!
Niceee !!! what u running on your reel 50 lb braid ?
About 275 yards of 65 lb braid.
What length and brand of rod are you using for that gold conventional reel?

Hey guys. How has it been going? Two Questions.. Where did you buy your bladder needle? And are you guys changing to"J" hooks on the spoons?

@@MattsSaltwaterFishingAnother question. Do you guys use mono or fluorocarbon for shock leaders??
