      If they spent the time and money to develop a more modern and efficient vehicle, it could come back. But doubtful because Dodge/Chrysler have their set line of vehicles and they don't want to interfere with their operations.

    The Viper has always been the superior American sports car. I had the opportunity to drive a 2017 ACR in Dallas in 2019. It blew me away. I have driven vettes, challengers, camaros, mustangs etc. and this thing blew everything out of the water. It drives like an exotic sports car.

      I wouldn't pay what they want for them. They put 30k-40k miles on them and are trying to sell a 6-7 year old car that they've ragged for 50k-60k over the msrp when it came out. I'd give Porsche 161k for a base gt3 and have 9,000 rpm on tap Manual or Auto or i'd pay 93k-115k for an 05 F430 and have formula 1 sounds at 9,000 RPM. These cars are going for 130k-140k after being used up, and it just isn't worth it. When comparing an 05 viper to an 05 Ferarri f430, the Ferraris are leaps and bounds better and can go toe to toe with that 15 viper to this day. The 05 f430 can do 0-60 in 3.3 with a top speed of 196mph, if you need more power dump the 40k-50k you saved not buying the viper and have Hennessey do an HPE700 kit on the F430. The Viper sounds like a truck, I wasn't impressed at all with it, other than the looks. It is a looker, but it's a dodge.

    • @TalooshDaBoss
      @TalooshDaBoss Рік тому +2

      @@floored3078 I doubt youll be able to find a base gt3 for msrp, and thats less than half the displacment of the viper. The F430 also doesnt rev to 9000 rpm. Anyways the market you're trying to compare each of them with prices in is so unstable it seems points, not to mention how different each of these cars are. If someone was looking for something like this for cheaper I'd say c7 corvette or just an older viper is the best alternative right now. I also doubt the F430 will hold up and be as cheap to own as a viper. Oh and twin turboing the early 2000s italian car sounds like one of the the worse possible moves to make power on the cheap. From what your saying buy a civic si, turbo it, and raise redline to 9k lol, maybe awd swap if you want ultimate 0-60, or just tune an evo.

      @@floored3078Okay cool lol now go buy a used GT3 and F430 then? Why ramble on about nonsense clearly this car isn’t for you and that’s fine no one needs to read an essay about how you’d rather have an old unreliable F430 with a garbage trans. Unless we’re talking about ia Scud or a gated 430 then it’s a pretty mid car. Promise you that 5th Gens will have a better roi than used f1 style trans F430.

    Wow, so much power in this thing. Very interesting engine. It still like to rev, but it has massive torque even down low. Gears are super long, but when there’s so much power it doesn’t really matter. These still have hydraulic steering, which is nice. I loved the bark it had on startup.

      They made 4 sequels to FH1, so i'd say it got just about all the recognition it could. I would say though that Xbox should go back to the more grounded street-racing formula, as opposed to the new "everything goes" style with wacky Lego cars and off-road rampage n such. if Gran Turismo were to make a free-roam style game, it'll bring back the same vibes that FH1 had.

    @TheTopher ***IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ*** He needs to check his engine oil ASAP! Watch at the 6:00 mark when you accelerate in first gear - the oil pressure gauge drops dramatically as the engine RPMs climb, and the oil pressure gauge (to the right of the tach) flashes red. That is NOT normal. The oil pressure drops at many other points in this video at high RPMs as well. The engine is either low on oil, or there's another major issue somewhere...I have a feeling this one is going to need a new engine soon. *EDIT - could also be an oil pressure sender going south...hopefully that's what this is.

It’s up to proper levels now and I’ll monitor it going forward. I appreciate you pointing this out to me. The red flashing never occurred during my driving so I did not notice it. • @PretentiousBrownie
    @PretentiousBrownie 2 роки тому +12

    Oh wow, this is like a whole different world of Viper - I’ve only ever driven 3rd and 4th Gens, which are equally beautiful, but arguably far more arcane. True, they have a sort of visceral impact that has been slightly refined over in the final generation, but I’m actually staggered by how livable this is compared to past models. Having amenities like Uconnect and modern switchgear that could’ve easily been pulled out of a Jeep Grand Cherokee or something makes this feel way more approachable. Fit, finish, and interior materials seems to be far better than any other previous Viper, like a serious grade above any previous iteration. Sounds great as ever too! Dang, this is far too tempting a proposition - if only prices weren’t absolutely ballooning on these right now. Alas, clean examples are probably going to keep appreciating, now that production’s long over, so maybe just biting the bullet is the way to go. Loved the vid!

    These are fantastically capable, extremely fast and and fun NA sportscars. Shame nobody bought these things because they just cost more than the brand could command (apparently) Meanwhile people will pay nearly 100k for a blown Challenger which is practically a minivan in contrast to the league of sportscar that is the Viper. Would love to own this gen, as great a car to drive as it is to look at. Til then I'll settle for my 30k blown Chally 6spd

    A big reason sales collapsed was incompetent/dishonest dealer service. I've owned two new Mopars (1985 and a 2020) - I'm still struggling to find a competent/honest dealer.

    I love these cars so much but the one thing I noticed and I know its not unique to Vipers is whenever you accelerated I watched the oil pressure drop and at some points the gauge its self flashed red I would have the owner look into that, cause as RPM increases oil pressure should also increase.

    That Dodge Viper looks amazing~~ I still love the look of it to this day~ I mean 8.4L V10???? That's one of the biggest V10s I've seen in my life, and Idk if any other manufacturer even made a V10 this big, and it sounds amazing ~~ The third generation Viper from 2003-2006 was my favourite looking Viper from Dodge (minus the interior), but this one still looks stunning.
