If he's been recording a bunch of a videos all this time, then he has a great recipe for success brewing here and now. Videos on a variety of topics, with a backlog of 6 years of different videos for a very popular game? Pretty good.
Though I am an avid league player, the new league-free content with a similar format is refreshing and quite fun to watch. I was not a subscriber before, but I will subscribe because of this change.
I used to like the league Content but he didnt seem like he was in it anymore so I completely agree. But he seems so happy and creative now that I'm subbing as well.
I agree. I started to watch league content, not league gameplay, that's why I mainly followed people like skooch and MagikarpUsedFly. And now that I know them, I much prefer any video they apply themselves than the dry and straight forward let's play. I just wish more lol players would appreciate the content than the game so the creators don't suffer for it.
I was so mad he didn't play TOTF. Its the only VR game I play because the exercise gets nuts. I use custom settings now where I increase their aggro alot but set their defense to the default normal defense. Also slow down their punch speed. This means I have to actively dodge hits to survive, and burn insane calories.
Here's my take on Ring Fit Adventure! If you felt like the game was too hard, you probably had the difficulty too high! You can manually turn down the difficulty in the settings to make sure you're not overexterting yourself. I also agree that Ring Fit is much more workout-focused, but the way I see it is that instead of just doing reps in silence, the game kind of distracts you from thinking about the fact that you're working out while you're doing it. If that makes sense. And it keeps track of your workout for you so you dont have to think about it while you do it. Hope that helps!
I also thing the other games are mainly cardio, which yes burn more calories but ring fit focuses on strength and muscle building, which help increase metabolism over time. So using both intermittently might be the best thing to do!
I did this for 2 months in June or so with a weight vest and beatsaber and lost 40lbs! Custom songs really are intense, if you have vr I recommend it’s a really good way to train without being bored, I did about a 2 hour session twice a week, with some portion control with my food and kicked my body’s butt. Good luck out there gamers.
I haven't worked out in years. I felt like just giving up on keeping up with my body. My knees tap out quickly when making them move too much. This has given me a new idea that I think will work. Thanks Skooch
Remember, Skooch. Muscles weight roughly double the fat's mass. So what seems to be just a small fat loss is actually you losing a good amount of fat and building some muscles. Keep it up mah man!
I didn't think of that, but it makes complete sense. Looking at the before and after, it looked like he lost way more than 8 pounds based on how much flatter his stomach looked.
Good on you Skooch! I used to do Beat Saber daily for a while when I first got VR, now I want to get back into it after watching this. Hopefully someday I will reach peak Gamer Physique.
I know you mentioned the game in the video, but doing Until You Fall's: Monk of Rokar achievement, that being using the amulet and the knuckles as your two weapons was a pretty decent workout as it turns all attacks into dodge attacks due to lack of blocking.
I never watched you just for League, so compared to most people I’m not really having to adjust to you expanding your content. Can’t wait to see more! Much love Skooch!
Definitely a journey, not a short and quick destination to achieve good fitness! You absolutely hit the nail on the head about this just being part of your journey, and I’m glad to hear that weeks after the test was over, you were still working out :-) good for you!
In the same line as Beat Saber - I love love love Synth Riders. Built in mod support, multiplayer, a more intuitive gameplay than beat sabers in my opinion, it's just a really fun rhythm game
I love lifting weights, but hate running. I just got a VR headset, and Beat saber is a great cardio workout. The Weeknd tracks have you doing a ton of squats, leans, and overhead rotations. I think I'll be using it as a warm-up before hitting the gym to lift. Ring fit is no joke, it legitimately leaves me drenched.
So I bought a VR set to help with mobility issues after being inspired by this and wow. What a brave new world of technology. Thanks for the inspiration and motivation, Skooch, appreciated this video so much
Imagine a ring fit style game but it's an RPG where every time you attack, you have to do an exercise that is similar to the attack, like a jumping slash would be like one jumping squat. Honestly, just a bit less focus on the intensity and more focus on feeling like you're actually doing the things a character like Link would do.
One thing about Ring-fit is that most people either overestimate themselves or place the bar too high right at the start "because funny max rep challenge seen on youtube" which...Is pure torture, yes! It can even lead to injuries so, please refrain doing it unless you're already in good shape and can endure that one session you'll go for it. (because let's be honest everyone go for it within the 1st week anyway... xD) No, really, if you feel down or tired it's ok to answer "keep the difficulty as is" or even "let's go easy for today" instead of always ramping up the rep counter to an absurd ammount. It is mostly fitness yes, so an important part (the game repeat over and over) is also to learn your limits. If the game feels like torture, lower the difficulty on your day's start. Still a shitty workout? Repeat until you're near your confort zone. Game is feeling too easy? Now go ahead and place the bar higher, little by little, until you reach your goal. Once I understood this, the game started to be fun, then 40+lvls life being a B happened, I couldn't play it for a year, and when I came back to it I was like "how TF was even able to consider that a light routine back then?!" not even being able to cheese the game with the high power moves you unlock. Then I realised, that if you stop working out or playing this game for this long, you need to re-evaluate yourself. It's a hard slap in the face, but it HAVE to be done! Restart, from level one. Use your knowledge to have more fun than those first few torture sessions you had last time. Challenge the game once again, fair and square, until you reach your previous best and surpass it! And only then you'll have your anime moment perfecting yourself beyond what you were! And it will be earned!...Or something like that, idk, motivational stuff. ._.
Hey Skooch, id highly recommend playing a VR game called Startenders. It is basically being a bartender in space with a bunch of wacky ingredients but its really fun and I found was a surprisingly good workout too. It hasnt made its way to steamVR yet, but if you have a psvr or quest you should be able to give it a try.
Yeah the calorie count is definitely off on ring fit. Maybe because in the time it takes to check your pulse you've been resting for about a minute. I've literally been gasping for air and it said 30 something calories too. When I used my fitbit it also said I burned way more calories too.
big suggestion is synth riders, similar to beat saber as a rhythm game with an emphasis on real world music, but it involves a lot more body movement as opposed to arm movement, and sometimes feels more fluid. Maybe not for everyone, but I almost prefer it over beat saber.
I saw that one split second of Wolfy Playz in one of the clips and it gave me instant respect for you, one of the goated and funniest youtubers that need more audience
For people who are interested in playing a cardio game - you can check out Blaston. It's a shooting game of sorts where you have to move IRL to dodge bullets, that being said, you'll need a pretty large room to move around, and consider using the wireless option for something like Oculus, because the cable will get in your way, but other than that I found it even more efficient at burning calories than Beat Saber.
I would suggest Hitstream and PowerBeatsVR for your VR and Fitness Boxing 2 for your Nintendo Switch. Personally I find them challenging, but the fun factor is probably not as big.
I definitely have some problems with Ring Fit as well some of the knee exercises are very hard on my knees but when I put it on a easier difficulty its alot of a workout for my arms
I would recommend trying Synthriders. As a more dance oriented game, yet very similar to Beatsaber, I find you move your whole body more. Its easy to end up playing 1h without even realizing, and ending up being drenched in sweat
Bro I wish you tried out Thrill of the Fight. It is SUPER intense and you have to be careful not to overwork yourself but it's my favorite when I want some great cardio!
Ringfit's calorie estimates are actually way more accurate than the few hundreds of calories the other game told u u burnt. Exercising burns calories but not as much as people may think, diet us key and more muscle mass
You *say* the "before/after" images aren't that drastic, but there's a very visible difference between the body checks on day 1 and day 30. You look less soft, the muffin-top is less full, there's more of the muscle and bone visible underneath the layer of fat. [edit]Standout Battle Royale is a great alternative to a treadmill. I get bored after about 30 minutes running on a treadmill, but the day I bought Standout, I played for 4 hours and afterwards my shirt was *drenched* in sweat. I regularly step in puddles of sweat left on my floor mats from when I went prone.
As a fellow Ring-Fit player that has quit after reaching god knows what level, yeah. That fucking game is made to make you feel like you are actually physically fighting real life monsters by swinging giant swords hundreds of times and doing 100 meters jumps, and climbing mountains etc... Only you're a regular human and it's not as fun as what Dragon Quest made it seem. On the plus side, that's the only rpg i've ever played where it felt super good drinking potions and using consumables (the smoothies), cause those would speed up the encounters A LOT so I could get the fuck out faster.
I wish you would've tried Supernatural! I would've loved to have seen what your thoughts would have been since it's fairly similar to Beat Saber and I even enjoy it more than it
Very Epic. As poor uni student in shoebox dorm I stalked eBay for a $200 128gb quest 2 last summer. I am blown away. Great way to move around.. even if just a little.
Honestly think you're selling yourself short regarding the visual fitness comparison. Definitely notably toner. Great video, especially as someone who's looking to get back into fitness and drop some pounds going into the new year and beyond.
I could definitely see the improvements on your body. It was subtle but it's pretty much the same I experienced at my first month in the gym - you become less "bloated". It is especially noticeable on the face. I haven't been to the gym for quite a few months because of financial difficulties and on top of that I'm also the kind of person who finds most exercises boring (and hates most sports). But working out at games is inspiring, so maybe once I stabilize my finances I'll try it out :)
Dude... I was stunned that you didn't try 'Thrill of the fight', however, I don't imagine you want to work out so hard you're coughing your lungs up... Or.. do you?? For a more mellow time you can try 'Pistol whip', that's, 'mellow compared to thrill of the fight' 🤣😂.
Actually ring fit adventure is more honest about the calories you burn, beat saber had no vocation to be healthy from the start and the calories burned meter is made for you to feel good
definitely thrill of the fight.. you think beatsaber burns calories you will die from thrill of the fight and you wont realize you are doing it to yourself lol
Skooch on his way to be an example of what leaving league of legends does to somebody
Average non league player can do 30 days of exercise in a week right?
I lost 20 pounds and got on my schools football team when I quit.

man i hope this goes well, we are here for you lol
I lost 44 pounds from playing VR Games, especially from Thrill of the fight, Les Mills and Blaston! VR Games definitely helps you to lose weight!
I was waiting for him to show TOTF, that game is amazing for fitness (if you box somewhat well)
+1 to this comment. Skooch probably doesn't know about Thrill of the fight. THE most physically intense game on VR!
I was so mad he didn't play TOTF. Its the only VR game I play because the exercise gets nuts. I use custom settings now where I increase their aggro alot but set their defense to the default normal defense. Also slow down their punch speed. OH HECK YEAH I love this video !!!!! Good job Skooch 🎉
ty bootz you are cool and swag
TBH, Skooch proved that if you kept doing this, with a good diet, you can get a decent physique
Remember, Skooch. Muscles weight roughly double the fat's mass. So what seems to be just a small fat loss is actually you losing a good amount of fat and building some muscles. Keep it up mah man!
I didn't think of that, but it makes complete sense. Looking at the before and after, it looked like he lost way more than 8 pounds based on how much flatter his stomach looked.
what's crazy is that there is a visual difference after one week that's craaaazy

I know you mentioned the game in the video, but doing Until You Fall's: Monk of Rokar achievement, that being using the amulet and the knuckles as your two weapons was a pretty decent workout as it turns all attacks into dodge attacks due to lack of blocking.

Ringfit counts the calories from exercise while beat saber counts the calories from just existing plus exercise
So I bought a VR set to help with mobility issues after being inspired by this and wow. What a brave new world of technology. Thanks for the inspiration and motivation, Skooch, appreciated this video so much

These new videos and format are exactly what I've been needing out of a UA-cam recently. Another banger!
10:36 that’s dope, my favorite genre is sandbox games, got two blade and sorcery and bonelab.

Continue your journey please!!!! Make to to 3 months ❤❤❤
The results are really visible your belly was literally cut off

definitely thrill of the fight.. you think beatsaber burns calories you will die from thrill of the fight and you wont realize you are doing it to yourself lol
