Not only is she a great artist but a kind hearted person. I personally witnessed this. In 1988 while attending Manor H.S in Portsmouth Virginia there was a morbidly obese 500- 600lb student name Roosevelt. Missy protected, was kind to, and Affectionately called him, Rosie until his death about 20 years ago. I truly believe God bless those who bless others just because it’s in their heart, Congrats P-Town homegirl!!! You represent well!!

I have never really listened to rap at all in my life. But I do know Missy Elliott and know enough that she totally deserves this moment.

@@essenceofsean2527I so disagree. Music is a pure art, like painting, fashion is a nice to have. Some musicians have leveraged fashion in the same way they leverage scores of dancers or sex or lewd behaviour. I am not against any of these things, but they are not music. Music must be able to stand alone, anything else is completely secondary and falls into the category of entertainment, not music. I can go on forever here to prove my point but if you already believe they are one in the same, a simple comment on a youtube post is not going to change anything.

Missy has saved my life in music. The Rain was on MTV when I rescued myself from a violent situation a couple lifetimes ago. I had just moved back to 757, a military brat born at Ptown N. I saw her at the Lilith after that. She is everything to me and I am so proud of her. May God keep blessing her 🥰🥰

She's actually a producer who has written hit songs for several artist. Rock and roll and Rock aren't the same thing. Rock and roll was just the name they used for popular music of the time. Little Richard Chuck Berry and Big Mama Thornton created Rock and roll. Its a mesh of several music styles
