Missy has ALWAYS been BDE, and she looks like she's aged 6 years since then....it was more than 20 years ago!! Da Brat is so gorgeous - her eyes, eybrows, forehead..gorgeous.
I always said Da Brat is so pretty. There was an episode of The Surreal Life where she was all dolled up with make up and did her hair and she was beautiful.
Who TF disliked this? I’m literally in tears watching this. This was special. Originality at it best! Black beauty being showcased. Female empowerment and ugh Aaliyah! Just everything in one! Too much to take.
She was too pure for this nasty corrupted world along with the demon spawns of Hollywood and the music entertainment industry that viewed her as some type of sexual object. I’m glad she didn’t see the reality of how this wicked world runs and toxic abuse that goes on quietly in that industry.
Sadly that didn't last for Lil Kim, getting all that plastic surgery doesn't even look like herself anymore. Can't imagine how much she got tore down to go through all that.
Lil Kim was not comfortable in her own skin. Even in this she had the LONG fake BLOND hair down to her butt, blue contacts and lighter than her color foundation. This was 21 years ago!

Yeah the best times music etc
Aaliyah was gorgeous and her voice was so therapeutic. ❤️
Aaliyah had a humility, grace, purity about herself as opposed to other women in the rap game. They are all beautiful women, but Aaliyah's presence or lack thereof stands out to me more as a woman.
Yes... Aaliyah truly was one in a million... and her music and influence she brought to the industry will go on...and on...and on.... RIP Angel
Beat voice is therapeutic as well
Exactly
Da Brat has such a beautiful face!!!! Kim here looked beautiful, hate Hollywood and it’s affect on people.
I noticed them two too . . I knw Aaliyah stands out to most ppl and I definitely see why , but Kim & Da Brat were lookers too .
No one has an affect on her. She is grown

Aaliyah was an amazing singer. I am still sad that she is no longer with us. Just imagine the star that she would be today. She already had a head start in singing, dancing, & acting.
It just isn't fair. 😔
She's supposed to be here amongst the living today. She's not here because of someone else's mishap.
She would have dominated the music industry and acting industry if she was alive today
“We know who we are. Y’all find out who y’all are.” -Da Brat
Loved that!!
THAT PART!
No idea who Da Brat is.
@Glockiana 17 You must be young, even just 15-20 years ago it was still a time when artists coming out wasn’t an every day thing and they were scared of what it could do to their careers. They felt like they had to hide who they are that doesn’t mean denial lol
😂🤣that line killed me too honestly thier taken they need to find thier own
Aaliyah saying the exact same words Nicki said years later about an assertive man being a boss and an assertive woman being a bitch

It's crazy how laid Aaliyah's hair was in the 90's....no lace fronts for her! ..and make up on point!

Please give us more Aaliyah content like this, MTV’s Fanatic and some kind of legend/legacy tribute with performances from other artists (once her catalog becomes available) giving tribute, sharing best memories from other celebs/friends, the fact she is still relevant and influential, musically and style wise and a good person. Aaliyah was proof. Proof that angels walked the Earth
I don’t know about that lol
She was too pure for this nasty corrupted world along with the demon spawns of Hollywood and the music entertainment industry that viewed her as some type of sexual object. I’m glad she didn’t see the reality of how this wicked world runs and toxic abuse that goes on quietly in that industry.

I love how they were their on person and comfortable in their skin. That is what it was all about authenticity and being diversely black.
Aaliyah and Lil Kim looked like they really loved each other...they look comfortable together. 5:09
Yes love the friendship Aaliyah has with Kim in her teenage years and her great friendship with missy

They're all so pretty. Wow.
Theirs no way people in the industry used to tell lil Kim she was ugly, they may tell her that NOW but back then no way.
I think it was mainly biggie that said that. If that was her love and he broke her spirit. She would see him go after a certain type of female look; she was willing to be who he wanted to have him. That aint work. Lesson: BE YOU

MTV originally didnt want to be bothered with black music and sure didnt want rap. Michael Jackson changed all of that.
Back when women in Rap wasn’t in competition with each other but uplifting each other. 3 very successful rappers in this video!
Such a breath of fresh air to see this. Aaliyah wasn't normally as assertive in interviews as she is here, which tells me she felt very comfortable in that space to speak her mind. I was so immersed in this video that I didn't even think it would end until it did. I could've watched hours more.
Same I totally agree
Right - it even made me want to look up what Aaliyah was up to right now - smh - only because it seemed so new and now - so fresh. They were ahead of their time. I miss this type of unity in music. There were beefs but it was real stuff from the streets....not about instagram. When people were mad, they were mad for real - but when they were good, it was love like this. Beautiful.
Watch more of her interviews from 2001. She def was becoming more confident and assertive
False a lot of her interviews especially towards the end of her career she was
Because she was around her closest friends in the industry at the time missy and Kim
