In this episode:
Within sight of the Isle of Rügen, the Baltic Sea divers anchor to retrieve so-called ghost nets. The lost kilos, many hundreds of heavy plastic nets, sometimes represent fatal traps for all marine life.
They risk their lives by salvaging munition from the second world war and damaged cutters. They lay 700 metres long pipes under the seabed for fiber optic links from Germany to Denmark and Sweden and cooperate with environmentalists and scientists to protect the Baltic sea and its marine life. They clean the sea from ghost nets that they find in shipwrecks and they grow seaweed for climate protection. With serenity, charm, and trustful teamwork the Baltic divers tackle every task and find solutions for every problem they encounter underwater.

I admire Erik's mantra, not many would be so fastidious. I'm assuming everyone knows about quotas and by catches. When any fishing vessel exceeds its quota of a certain species the vessel must throw overboard these fish, mostly dead. Multiply this by the many thousands of fishing vessels in the UK/EU/World and you see the senseless waste.
They don't confirm positions from the vessel's own sonar??? Pretty basic.
Why not use sonar so they can see the stuff on the bottom
