Hey Scottie-you mentioned the change in rules this year re: the shift against hitters. I’d love to see a video where you rate which hitters will likely see huge stat increases as a result of this 😀 keep up the stellar content 👍
This is pretty exciting. When was the last time a Topps series 1 set had 5+ solid RCs? Seems like lately its been series 2 or Update with most of the good RCs...
Great rundown! It's going to be a good set but people will be disappointed ripping it given the set size and print runs. I think the Orioles are no brainer to buy into breaks, even if it's a little high. At worst you'll end up with a bunch of base rookies and inserts.
Definitely people sleeping on my boy Vinnie P. He's going to be an industry darling, and should be a prototypical .300/.400/.500 hitter with close to 30 homers in a full campaign. If the Royals get any better around him, he could be an easy 100/100 too. I wouldn't be shocked if he's won an MVP award by 2027
Interesting that Corbin Carroll has 2 auto cards, but no base...will those be considered "rookie" cards? Also curious where you would have him ranked if he did have base rookies in the series.
Those will have the rookie logo, yes. It always interests me when Topps does that. They did the same thing for some players last year as well! If Corbin Carroll was on this checklist I most likely would have had him in the top 2! He has great minor and major stats, a top prospect, and super young.
This rookie class is 🔥, I couldn’t think anything could top 2022 update but this might come close. I don’t recall a series 1 rookie class being this loaded, Topps usually likes to hold players back to series 2/update.
This is a very strong class, and the crazy thing is Topps still did hold out a few players. Corbin Carrol, Oswaldo Cabrara, and a few others were held out intentionally in my eyes. There were also a bunch of September call ups that could make Series 2 and Update great sets as well.
He unfortunately is not in Series 1. My guess is he will appear in Topps Update, but there is also a good chance he is in Series 2. Thanks for watching!
He's one of two guys who were clearly left out so Series 2 had some appeal. Carroll and Oswaldo Cabrera will be two of the best names for base cards in that series.

Another one is Andrew Painter pitcher for the phillies...may see some sets but I don't think we will be on the open day roster. MLB has him top 10 prospect
I'm kinda sad about the 330 image variations. I've really enjoyed building flagship sets and chasing a complete image variation checklist with it. A little extravagant, but at 70ish short prints I could justify chasing deals on ebay. But 330 image variations is a little much unless they are common enough for the vast majority to be worth about 90 cents like the gold parallels. Doubt it though. Still looks like a great set.
That's a great point. It makes me wonder if this was their way to have more hits in packs while not increasing SP print runs. Either way, I can see how this can be challenging for SP collectors. It will be interesting to see how it turns out!
I think Riley Greene is a big time buy low guy right now...he didn't end up doing that great in his time in the bigs this past season, but I think he's going to round into an outstanding hitter. His First Bowman stuff is way cheaper right now than it's been in the past

Cabrera makes the most sense because, as a Yankees player, he can be a centerpiece of Series 2 along with a guy like Corbin Carroll. The only thing I disagree with is the short print issue. I think Topps is doing it to combat an insanely high print run. Who wants image variations of the majority of the 330 players? Makes it impossible to pull the one you want.
No Oswaldo Cabrera! Topps you fu&ked up. But in all seriousness how does it work with a player that didn't have a RC the previous season due to being a late call up, but used up their rookie eligibility. Switch out Gunnar Henderson with Adley Rutschman. Gunnar was called up August 31st. Adley is already arguably, a top 3 catcher in baseball. Not saying, Gunnar won't win the ROY, but for now it's all hype.
I agree that the top 3 on this list can be arranged in any order. Most people would lean towards Adley for sure, but Gunnar is super young which makes an interesting case for his cards. Thanks for watching!
@@scottiebcards2354 I'm an O's fan. Hoping for the best. You're welcome!
If you want value, don’t buy pitchers obviously
Adley at 3...I don't know about that man
I think the top 3 are interchangeable. Adley was hurt due to his age. If he was able to debut a few years younger I think more people would be all over him. Either way, he is a stud!
No mention of bello... thats okay i want him to stay cheap
Riley Greene for the breakout season
He has all the tools. Let's see if he can put them to use this year!
2nd
bravo!
There only 2 guys the rest is 50/50 at best.
That is very similar to most rookie checklists, but a lot of the time there are players we don't expect that can break out. Thanks for watching!
You bring a Rockies guy will be interesting to see where u place tovar
Looks like he will be a series 2 guy
You gotta stop with all the purple... and be proud of your bald head!
