I bought a 2019 bowman retail box this winter for fairly cheap and pulled an base Outman auto. Incredibly lucky! He's definitely the best rc in this bunch as of now
i like this rookie class a lot Volpe is gonna take a little to adjust to major league pitching but his defense is great, jordan walker is gonna be good and Corbin Carroll is for real! he's a super fast exciting player that can hit for power reminds me of trout!! 🏆great vid, ezekial tovar has been flying under the radar he has potential
you did a video a while back about trajectories to 3K hits and 500 HR for some of today's players (I think WAR was mixed in too). Would love to see an update on that video!!! I think from a modern day perspective, Pujos and Cabrera's milestones will be untouchable for a long time.
No. They will have "rookie debut" cards in the update series which comes out after series 2. Only one "true rc" of each player whether in series 1 or 2 will be released.
Love your knowledge and breakdown on these things, so we’ll done. Question, prob not in Topps series 2, but your opinion on Eury Perez the Marlins SP they just called up week-ish ago from AA.
Tovar? Local Favorite. Will have to show me something at the MLB level for me to agree to this ranking. Alvarez, Carroll, Outman, Walker, Senga, Yoshida, Volpe
I know this is WAY off topic and I'm sorry, but is it just me or are the Topps chrome wander Franco rookie sp's super cheap? You can pick them up for around $100 while the Julio ones are going for much much more. Am I just crazy or what am I missing?? They are going for less than his series 1 sp. Someone please help it make sense 😂
Only gripe I have is Yoshida. I get that he’s older for MLB, but it’s not uncommon for Japanese players to have an increased fan base from their home country. It would be hard for him to be a hall of fame guy, but I think he can be a lot like Matsui where his success in Japan got him fans and then the MLB stuff made him worth more than any other player would have been worth with his numbers.
Definitely a specialized RC. I get your point tho, kinda breaks the model used. He’d have to be pretty perfect from here on out to really be of tremendous note. I PC Japanese and Korean guys who come over so I’ll try and grab a few of his.
@@natthomson6339 Definitely specialized. I’m just pointing out his collectability can’t be evaluated using a stock formula like Scottie does here. He’s definitely a more desirable card than a few of the players Scottie had above him in my eyes. Ichiro was 27 when he debuted, and that would have killed him in a similar ranking format, but he was collectable from day one for a reason.
Hi Mike, I appreciate the feedback, I don't disagree that Yoshida is awesome, but I do think that this hurts his values compared to other players. I do think people will speculate on him, but he needs to play extraordinarily well in order to maintain/grow in value. Like I mention in this video, it isn't a perfect science, and I totally get if people chase him over others ranked above him. Thanks for watching!
In terms of value, Volpe is #1 by far. In terms of ceiling, Volpe is #1. If his numbers are anywhere close to Alvarez, CC, or Walker, he'll be more valuable in the hobby. The Yankee SS factor cannot be overstated.
Oh good here come more overprinted base cards. I think I'll have to pass and stick to buying Bowman Chrome. 22 Update was one of the best products that came out at the time but with Julio and Witt Jr struggling, even that is taking a hit. I'll buy a mix of proven players and a little of Bowman because it usually will hold more value than Topps.
Hi Dave, He is a great player, but he is entering the league at age 30. That makes it pretty difficult to have long term value. I think he is definitely a top 5 player right now on the list though!
Its a decent class but hype wise its not anywhere near 22 series 2 (ssp), 22 update, and 23 series 1. Even Torkelson had more hype in the hobby than these any of these guys.
Love your content … no angle … no bull …. Just info we can do with what we want …. I appreciate you my man !!!
Thanks Brandon, I appreciate that!
Love these videos. Would be cool to do videos where you revisit rankings from past releases and reorder them based on where they are now.
From a sales perspective, hard to imagine any of these guys outselling Outman right out of the gate given his lack of Bowman cards. Great breakdown!
I bought a 2019 bowman retail box this winter for fairly cheap and pulled an base Outman auto. Incredibly lucky! He's definitely the best rc in this bunch as of now
I pulled the 1988 outman auto out of 2023 Topps series 1
@@mikestahlman8225he is not better than corbin carroll
Corbin Carroll is Babe Ruth compared to JRod batting .248 and overrated Witt Jr.
@@mikestahlman8225 not better than Carroll
Buying the to top 4 products close to release day and shelf half, for 8 years, will equal amazing success later.
I just pulled Volpes 460 clear 6/10.
Very surprising 😊
Thanks for the breakdown Scottie! Always love collecting Astros so I'll definitely be looking for Yainer rookies in series 2

Good to know. have like 6 Corbin Carrol rookies so thx for the information!
Very informative and great video! Getting into card collecting this past year, so it's good info for veterans and newbies! Thanks!
So stoked to have Garret Mitchell I may open a lil or get into some breaks
what do you think of rookie and league-leading stolen base player esteury ruiz; is he a sleeper hit?
Jordan Walker was the only guy on your list I had heard of. I will be checking the other players out. thank you
Always look forward to the flagship videos!
Great videos! I'm new to the hobby. Will the series 1 rookies like Adley have RC cards in series 2?
No. They will have "rookie debut" cards in the update series which comes out after series 2. Only one "true rc" of each player whether in series 1 or 2 will be released.
@@kennyx7267 Awesome, thank you.

great breakdown thanks!
Great content thank you scottie!
I like TOVAR drafted him everywhere had to drop but he's on watchlist
Thank you bro🍀🤘
Is spencer steer not going to be in it ??? He has played really well.
Yup steer has been very impressive so far. The fact he was left off the list is criminal!!
I had a question. First off. Thanks for the video. Question is did any of these players have cards in series one?
Some of them had insert cards.
great vids i would love to send you a box for your pc
Tovar? Local Favorite. Will have to show me something at the MLB level for me to agree to this ranking. Alvarez, Carroll, Outman, Walker, Senga, Yoshida, Volpe
McCard your list is money. Thats how i basically have it too💥💯
hi, for people like me with limited budget; i can just buy the most common base card of these players. right? thanks
without a problem for the base version
The Largest Card Show Denver has EVER held is next month June 23 24 25 400+ Tables so far. Huge Travel Show
When does series 2 release for retail?
Thanks captain.
Thank you for the breakdown Scottie. That said, the 2023 RC class looks pretty average.
Thanks good stuff
Think it's worth it to invest in any of these guys?
Gimme the top 5 rookies for 2022 and. 23. Thnx

It don't make sense it's baseball cards lol
What kept Zach Neto off your list? He meets all your requirements?
Hi, thanks for watching! Neto is not on the checklist. He didn’t debut early enough to be in this set. He will be in Topps Update.
Thank you for that update. I was definitely confused. Hope he makes your update list
So is the Topps Series 2 their rookie card or their bowman because I’ve got some of these guys already slabbed up in SGC 10’s?
Bowman usually has there first cards is why before topps card

Alot can happen before that happens
Yo bro you from Colorado
What about gunnar
Everyone sleeping on Esteury Ruiz
Rip Gunnar 😢
Have you checked out sorare these guys are great cards to buy in there cheap and you own forever

Corbin Carrol
Why no Bret Baty?
Hi Stephen, he was in series 1. Thanks for watching!

Anyone missing on here that you’re watching for in update?
Hopefully if he stays up Matt Mclain. Unless hes in series 2. I have not checked 😂
Chingon!
Great video thanks!
No love for Spencer Steer?
Masataka should be in the top 5.
Hi Dave, He is a great player, but he is entering the league at age 30. That makes it pretty difficult to have long term value. I think he is definitely a top 5 player right now on the list though!
Garrett Mitchell is out for the year. Injuries may be a cause for concern with him…
Too bad series 2 jumbo won’t be loaded as series 1
Brett baty

Agreed !!!
JRod is batting .200 and where's Jeremy Pena?
Outman is just ok player not as good as he showed early
Too bad that all these cards are worthless..right Scott?
I wouldn't say they are all worthless, but you definitely need to target the right cards of the right people. Thanks for watching!
It's too late for Outman. Should have sold all those Big League and Bowman rookies of his already. His average is dropping fast.
True, as a Dodger fan it pained me to sell him but there was no way I could justify keeping him when his stuff was going for more than JRod’s
