Hello all, my name is Sumeran Govender. I am from Durban, South Africa.
Durban, a coastal city on the east coast of South Africa, is known for its African, Indian and colonial influences.
Durban is the third biggest city in South Africa by population and is situated in the province of Kwa-Zulu Natal.
Fun fact……. Durban has the largest Indian population outside of India. Indentured labourers were once brought to Durban to work in the sugarcane fields. We are now a part of Durban’s culture, adding a twist to everything from local fashion to food flavours.
I started this channel in November 2022. Follow me for camping adventures where I will be exploring my city and trying to see if I can manage to keep myself fed with various recipes that I will try in each video.

Hi Nicholas, Thank you for watching😀 I have not been to Cape Town yet. are there restaurants in Cape Town that sell bunny's? If not now, you know how to make it at home 😄
Can you please send me the messages what you sent to me and what i sent to you
Looks divine. Cooking under beautiful settings.
Thank you so much
You cook as well? 👍Looks great, thanks for sharing. I grew up visiting Japanese Gardens regularly with family, glad to see its still in operation. 🌺
Yes I try to cook😂 sometimes to comes out good. The gardens is still in operation and is very busy during the weekends with families. Do you not live in Durban anymore?
@@SumeranGovender I moved to Jhb quite a while ago, there's so much nostalgia felt when seeing Dbn on your channel. I've popped in to visit Dbn over the years but I never seem to get to these old favourites like Botanic Gardens and Japanese Gardens.🤷♀️🌺
That bunny looks so yummy. I need to make it this weekend 😀
It's so good! Hope you enjoy yours too 😄
@@SumeranGovender I made a bunny this weekend 😊

Thank you so much 🙂
Well done on your curry. I'm from Pmburg. I used to visit Japanese Gardens as a child. Great memories watching on your channel.
Thank you. I'm glad you're enjoying my videos 😁
I had a favorite place in Durban where I used to get my 1/4 beef bunny. It was a little takeaway on West Street. Unfortunately, it has closed down.
Curry looks good!
your spices look nice and red 🔥
Can you mention what type of chilli powder and masala you cook with.....
Will let you know soon. Just need to check the names 🙂
Hi Jade. The spices i used were Garam masala, which is a few different spices that are grounded down to a powder. Also, I used turmeric powder and Kashmir chili powder from Gorimas.
Im also a fan of kashmiri chilli powder 👍
@Jade Pillay it's what my mum always uses, so I just asked her.
Awesome meal
Thank you, Cecil 😀
Looks absolutely yummy 😋
I also prefer lamb.
Thank you 😋
How now bunny chow 🎉🎉😅😅
The name The butcher shop u buy from
My local butchery. Doesn't matter where you get it from as long as it's lamb or Mutton.
Ha ha ginger and garlic .As I watch this video ,very hungry and no water here (Komani EC ).
Sorry about there being no water bud
@@SumeranGovender sorted ,tx🙏🇿🇦🙏
Where the hell is the ginger and garlic...
I did put. Maybe I did not show that
He obviously put garlic.
He did put in the ginger and garlic.
Very rare for bunny chows in Cape Town. They put fresh chips in hollowed bread and call it a bunny chow. I myself make it it at least once a month with my own curry. Your one looks red hot mate. Looks too hot for me.
Hi Nelson that's great that you make your own. Is there nowhere in Cape Town that sells bunny's
@@SumeranGovender you do get it but it is not the same as a Durban bunny. I bought it once from a Pakistani restaurant which was OK but wasn't anything like what you get in Durban. That is why I prefer to make my own as I can make a great Durban curry. Thanks for the video mate, I have become a great fan of your videos as they keep in touch with my roots. 👍🙏👌
any way can this be made for ppl who are against animal cruelty like animal rescue ppls
You can also make a veg curry to put inside the bunny
@@SumeranGovender Most places us cow product. Even in their veg. When we request that we veg they laugh at us
