For the video I’ll be recording this week (90’s Leonardo DiCaprio haircut!) I’ve got a plan to try editing the video down to 3-4 minutes haircut (barber/stylist focused content), 3-4 minutes styling (barber/stylist/consumer focused), then 3-4 minutes photo shoot (for camera nerds like me, sort of micro reviews on the gear and why I chose it that day, and micro tutorials on the lighting setup I use to get the shot). I know I have a lot of followers who do hair, a lot who just want tips for styling their own hair, and these days a lot who don’t care about hair but come for the camera discussions I sometimes post- I figure with this potential format I’ll be testing this week I can offer a little bit of something to everyone here. Let me know your thoughts on this idea, and maybe throw out some ideas for me if you’ve got them. Thanks!
As someone who is not a hair dresser but cuts boyfriend's hair and pretty good at it, I enjoy tutorials with a little bit more detailed explanation 😊, but maybe I'm not your typical target audience
Amazing video! Please don’t cut out the other side like you mentioned. We learn from every second of your videos every extra angle. I wanna get a haircut from you just so I can see you cut my hair lol!
I've seen a few haircutters do that but I think I'd only go that route if I didn't have this dedicated space and lighting setup in the salon, as well as a big fancy camera (ancient canon 6d 😂). I guarantee if I went that route I'd get complaints about the shaky footage, plus GoPro tends to warp the scene a bit which is a big no-no for haircuts because proportions are soooo important (the difference between a good haircut and a phenomenal haircut is little bit of proportional difference 😋)

Ever thought about doing a GoPro on the head like Kenji Lopez Alt does with his cooking vids?
