I put the new car scent, it smells pretty good.
I use a carbon filter. They are great. I no longer smell diesel trucks or cars that are burning oil. Worth every penny. And super easy to install.

Rod I just had another free service on my tacoma. I couldn't get it done where I normally do. At poplar bluff mo. I had to go to Jonesboro ar. They said they did the cab filter. They didnt. They said they rotated the tires. They didnt. They said they checked the tire pressure. They didnt. But what did do was get oil all over my steering wheel, shifter. Inside the door as they closed it on the door handle. Fender, hood and side of the bed. I'll never go back.

Good video Rob. I almost got bit by not checking the in-cabin air filter, I now check them all the time. Several years ago, my wife's Camry air conditioning was not cooling well. After checking the freon level, and belt adjustment, (which both were fine) I was at the point of taking the car to the shop. I then read a post about the in-cabin filter. After changing it, the A/C would freeze us out of the car. To all Tacoma owners: keep an eye on those cabin filters, it will save you a bunch of aggravation.

Usually an air filter arrow points in the direction of airflow (toward the blower fan). It's the same with your home hvac

I use the Fabreze new car smell vent clip on deodorizers. I smoke so the wife suggested for this truck to keep the ashtray in an empty large QT cup that has the good lids. Man when a non smoker gets in my truck they don’t smell Tabbaco like they did in my 2008 model. That ashtray stayed out and open and made the whole truck inside smell like an ashtray. The QT cup solved that issue.
I seen u do this with the air freshner in another video,so i tried it. It really works good,xpecially when the air/heat is on. Good videos!!!

I've changed mine myself 5 minute job. It gets filled with polen in the spring and summer. I put a few drops of peppermint essential oil on mine in the winter as that is supposed to deter rodents. Not sure how well it work but never have any problem with them
Think I like the drops vs the scent tree. I think the scent tree may reduce air flow.
Just replaced mine after watching your video. I bought my 2020 used with 34k miles on it so wasn’t sure if it’s been changed or what condition it was in. Glad I checked it as it was in need of a change and I’m also glad Toyota made it so it’s easy to get to unlike some vehicles

Toyota made it easier to change the in cabin air filter on the 3rd Gen. My 2005 requires removing the glove box. It’s not hard but kinda inconvenient.

I use an ozone spray once a while to get rid of odors in my Tacoma.
Pollen is pretty bad where I'm at so I have to keep on top of it. That and a vent clippy thing
It’s been horrible for me the last couple of weeks😬
I normally use the same size for the Highlander ,but the charcoal type filters (activated Carbon)...works pretty good for me.

Rob,you just reminded me of something else to do during planting season, it might have to wait a few weeks as we had a late start due to a crappy April weather, planting is going strong right now, everybody is trying to catch up as there seems to be tractors and just about every field!! Very hectic time unfortunately just because of weather, very slight rain delay today that’s why I am trying to catch up on videos👍!!

It’s crazy how your Tacoma and my wife’s Honda only takes 3 minutes to change out the cabin Filter, very simple as it should be. My Fords Cabin Filter is located in the same location behind the glove box yet requires a screw driver someone with a good back to remove / replace it.
Just goes to show one more reason why so many of us myself included is over American vehicles.

The tree lasts a couple of months or so. There are many variables regarding changing the filter…no set rule.
