Some things connect us to our past, our ancestors, those who have gone before us. This song and these musicians do great honor to those of the past and for us all! Kind Loving Thanks! DaveyJO in Pa.
For many years I have been a fan of the mountain modal tuning/playing. This particular recording is one of the more incredible bits of life- music of fretless banjo and harpa that I have enjoyed in many years. The subtile gathering and intermingling of notes allows " Sally in the garden" to levitate to a new and dynamic plane, usually only achieved by much older and experienced players. Kinda makes the concept of reincarnation a bit more visible. Thank you & well done !
Music about as original as you can get. Beautiful instruments with beautiful music coming out. In the true Spirit of this music I Thank You Both. Lifts the Heart to great heights! DaveyJO in Pennsylvania
Banjo & nyckelharpa....what a great combo! Go Anna Go! I look forward to your evolution in music..... thanks for sharing music with us at Mendocino camp.....love, toby & fred
Nice to know that Laurel Premo has contact with someone swedish. För nyckelharpa är väl ärkesvenskt? Then I might sometime in the future be able to hear her live. Sheś like Midas, gold and so! Och Anna, helt underbart det ni skapar tillsammans. Att jag började med en hyllning till Laurel är bara för att jag har varit såld på donnans banjospel en längre tid! SUPERB mao (typisk svensk förkortning eller..?) :)
The interpretation of this tune is unique. And THE best I've heard if it. I am still looking for another similar version with the same minor keyed influence. If anyone knows of one let me know. Thanks.
Your music is so captivating. I do have a question though. I am an instrument maker of sorts. Laurel. Are the strings on your banjo gut? Is the instrument made of gourd? And what would it take to get you to Greenville (area) South Carolina?
+Bill LaCasse Thanks! My gourd banjo was made by Jeff Menzies. The strings I use are Aquila brand nylon, created to sound like gut. I am certain that this duo will be doing a tour on the eastern part of our country sometime, but it may be a year or two out. Cheers! Thanks for listening.
Jeff is comming to get my Kevin Fore banjo this summer after his banjo class in NJ ... He wants to trade one of his banjos for some of my pottery .. Your banjo sounds great .. What a nice guy Jeff is ...
Hi, very good sound! Played so beautifully! What is the name of the other musical instrument that she is playing with a bow? It has such a clear crisp sound! Wow! Thank you! And, thnx for sharing! 'Keep-On-A-Rocking-N-A-Rolling!' :)

Splendid performance. Q. What is the make of the banjo? You play it well.
banjo made by Jeff Menzies!
Sweet!!!! Laurel, were you at Swannanoa years ago? I think you gave me the "Vincent Ban-jo" t-shirt. I still wear it.
Wow!
Nice one!
well, now, that sounds pretty dang nice!
Is there somewhere I can get the sheet music for this?

It's very similar if not the same tune as 'cold frosty morning'.
ua-cam.com/video/lPT7Dyho_e4/v-deo.html It is the second tune in this medley.
This is really wonderful. What is the banjo tuning? Is it e A E A B ?

Bill LaCasse I can tell that it's a tack head gourd banjo. And that the nyckelharpa looks like fun.
Very nice music.
Thanks Claude.

Nyckelharpa.
Have you considered making the drone explicit? Just a thought.
That fretless banjo must have some sort of pick up. It is way louder than any fretless I’ve ever heard.
Who made this gourd banjo ???
What is the instrument on the right?
+Steven Chavez Thanks.
