My mate Neil Burgess and I continue upgrading the suspension on his 2007 BMW Mini Cooper S rally car. Having tackled the rust on the front subframe, we can finally get to fitting the new suspension parts but with the new adjustability and increased negative camber, will it all fit back on the car?
Thanks as always to my production pixies for wrangling the cameras and push-fitting the frames together to make what we like to call; an episode.

Ed it's such a pleasure to watch how you work, and with all the right tools for the job, and of course the excellent work ethic you possess, I still miss wheeler Dealers as you and Mike Brewer made a great team, but still watching you work was the main part of the show, not to mention all we learn from watching, thank's for continuing on, love your show!

There's lots of thinking & pre-planning going into this upgrade - not just throwing parts at the car & hoping for the best. Neil's car should do well once he & Edd are done making the improvements.

Edd, I hope you see this, but this show of yours is 100000% better than that "other" show, I don't care about the dealing, but the commentary you provide, and your quirky vehicles are what makes this quasi(?) reboot really worthwhile. regardless, thank you for your efforts!

Edd, I think it's brilliant that you're showing the bumps in the road. That is not to say you cannot effectively plan jobs out, but it shows how you're dealing with the work as it comes along the path to completion. Thanks for showing all the bits that go into this, it's fascinating.

I am so pleased to see you back. Simply a joy to watch, thank you! I wanted to make a comment about the Ansell HyFlex gloves. I bought a pair to do the front brakes on a 1968 Rover P5B. All went well but these gloves are not oil proof and certainly not brake and clutch cleaner proof. I tend to get dermatitis from brake fluid and realised I needed a pair of cheap nitrile gloves underneath to avoid contact dermatitis. It might be worth warning of this this and feeding back to Ansell. Otherwise they are very good. Certainly as a protective barrier aginst cuts and grazes they are brilliant. Also just a quick comment about spinning the oil pump on the rover V8 to prime it using an electric drill. I am a bit of a fan of the technique recommended in the Rover P5 workshop manual which is to fill the oil pump with petroleum jelly prior to start up. I do know that the oil pump on the Rover V8 has had several improvements since 1968 and it maybe that spinning with an electric drill is better on the later V8s but I thought the information might be useful. All the best!

Nice work Edd, I enjoyed this episode very much. Especially as this week I’ve done this exact same bush replacement on my 2004 Mini Cooper S. To remove the lower suspension arms from the bushes I used a vice and a large pry bar, then to get the old bushes out of the carrier I bought a tool from eBay for £28, the knackered bushes slid out with no effort and the new poly replacements slid in using the same tool in reverse. I’m staying with factory suspension for the moment but looking forward to seeing the fitting of those lovely Ohlins to see what I might need to look out for if I decide to go the adjustable coil over route.

Edd when using Gearing clamps in a puller, place the cast part of the tool across your support plates (NOT the bolts).
Doing this prevents the bolts from bending under the stress (granted you were not putting much stress on it doing those bushes).

First let say, Great Channel!! It is so wonderful to see you back in your element! I’ve always enjoyed your detailed descriptions of the work you are performing.
In this episode you discussed the adjustable camber struts. I was wondering if the stress of driving the vehicle hard, like on a racetrack, would allow the adjustment to move? It would be interesting to have specific designed slots for the washer to sit in (basically three or four preset positions) to allow a desired predetermined camber. Again, fantastic channel!
