Dharma of human is not just to save, Dharma in different situations is different for Humans. Dharma of Doctor is to save, Dharma of Army person is to fight and defend, Dharma of Teacher is to teach righteously, Dharma of Student is to study sincerely so on and so forth. Instead of plainly appreciating Drew and his efforts to explain the Bhagavad Geeta into a clear, understandable, present-time perspective, all I see here are people who are getting riled up, getting all defensive, over-critical and preachy. What were the inner feelings and emotions of Shri Krishna when he preached the Geeta? All inner feelings cannot be expressed in words. Some can be told, some are expressed through the body language, and the rest are to be realized which can only be understood by a seeker through experiences. Only after attaining the state which Shri Krishn had been to, an accomplished teacher knows what Geeta says. He simply does not reiterate verses of the Geeta but, in fact, gives expressions to the inner feelings of the Geeta. This is possible because he sees the same picture which was there when Shri Krishn preached the Geeta. He therefore, sees the real meaning, can show it to us, can evoke the inner feelings and would lead us on the path to Enlightenment. 'Rev. Shri Paramhansji Maharaj' was also an enlightened teacher of such a level and the compilation of his words & blessings to grasp the inner feelings of the Geeta itself is the ˜Yatharth Geeta'.

Why is it so difficult to understand for so many people in the comments? When Krishna says he is 'Brahman' or the supreme consciousness (not god, there is no concept of a god in Bhagawat Gita), he is also referring to Arjuna as part of the same consiousness as well as everyone, every animal on Earth. The 'Viswaroopa' or the grand image of Krishna is basically conveying that everyone is connected and he himself is connected to all through the same consiousness.
Dharma: Earth is spinning / revolving round the sun, the sun emits light, moon revolves around the earth & so on.. The whole cosmos acts out its dharma.. Even for a minute, if the earth stopped its dharma (aka action) , spinning, or any of the planets/stars stopped its work, life on this planet would be plunged into chaos.... Thats the philosohical concept of dharma, in simple words

Lets do some simple math... 'It is said that Lord Brahma divided the egg of the universe first into three divisions and later into fourteen (SB. 3.10.8). Those three divisions are called Bhu, Bhuvar, and Svar lokas. Bhuvarloka is said to be the space that divides the top of the universe from the bottom. This is better expressed in the following analogy from Canto 5. As a grain of wheat is divided into two parts and one can estimate the size of the upper part by knowing that of the lower, so, expert geographers instruct, one can understand the measurements of the upper part of the universe by knowing those of the lower part. The sky between the earthly sphere and heavenly sphere is called antariksa, or outer space. It adjoins the top of the sphere of earth and the bottom of that of heaven. (SB.5.21.2)Herein we are informed of two spheres of existence; the earth and heaven. These spheres are in relation to the lifespan of living entities. Those in the lower sphere are said to be in the earthly sphere and this area includes the abodes of the demigods, demons, and humans that are destroyed or cleansed within 12 hours of Brahma. The heavenly sphere, which is located above Bhuvarloka, operates on a different timeframe, but one that is also contained within the kala-chakra of Brahma. We know that the lifespan of our universe is equal to 4,320,000,000 years (on our Earth as time stands now). We know also that the four millenniums, Satya, Treta, Dvarpara, and Kaliamount to 4,320,000 years, which is then equal to 12,000 years of the demigods (SB. 3.11.18). That means we are in relation to the demigods at 360:1-a perfect circle! (If you multiply 12,000 by 360 you get 4,320,000). Sri Maitreya Rishi said: Two solar movements make one day and night of the demigods, and that combination of day and night is one complete calendar year for the human being. The human being has a duration of life of one hundred years. (SB. 3.11.12) The complete lifespan of the universe happens when the four yugas pass 1,000 times, thus the universe lasts for 4,320,000,000 (of our) years before it is cleansed with water. Maitreya gives this time as Brahma’s day, thus, as 4,320,000,000 years pass on Earth 12 hours pass on Brahmaloka (SB. 3.11.22). In the above sloka presented by Sukadeva, people on Maharloka have a life expectancy of 4,300,000,000 years. That figure is less than the lifespan of our universe! This is important to notice. Sukadeva also mentioned that on Satyaloka the lifespan was 15,480,000,000,000 years (just over 15 trillion years). We know that Lord Brahma lives on Satyaloka and that his lifespan is not 15 trillion years but rather 311 trillion years, thus his place is not the same as the Satyaloka mentioned herein, as his lifespan is 20 times as long. If you multiply the 4,300,000,000 years of Maharloka by 360, you get the figure 1,548,000,000,000 years. This number is the same as the residents of Satyaloka but with a power of ten short. Looking at these figures, it seems apparent that there is a further circle of reality in the heavens that represents the upper and lower regions of a heavenly sphere. However, the distance from the bottom of the sphere to the top is not in relation to 360, but rather 3,600. In the two examples I have cited, we see that there are two circles of time going on, which are termed as Earth and Heaven, and also the final time of Brahma is in relation to the lower time of our Earth, which then encompasses the realms of Bhu, Bhuvar and Svar as one complete universe. This information was given by Sukadeva using just three slokas, SB. 2.2.24-26, and this is what is meant by the Bhagavatam containing codes. In the universe, we are the highest point of degradation and Brahma is the highest point of organization. Time, therefore, is calculated according to Brahma’s lifespan, and everything in between makes up his moments, hours, days, years etc. This is expressed by the sun going over the three areas Bhu, Bhuvar, and Svar lokas and creating universal time. It is connected to the five circles of time known as Samvatsara, Idavatsara, Parivatsara, Anuvatsara, and Vatsara (SB. 5.22.7). If you multiply Earth’s time of 60 seconds by 60 minutes by 12 hours (60x60x12) you get the figure 43,200. If you then realize that there are five samvatsaras of time, which correlate with the five islands from Plaksadvipa to Sakadvipa and therefore make time from Jambudvipa up to Puskaradvipa, you then have the beginning and end of time in the universe. That would mean 43,200 then gets five zeros, as each island out expands to the same ratio of one power of ten. We then get 4,320,000,000, which makes universal time align with our Earth of Jambudvipa and the outermost island of Puskaradvipa. Indeed, for this reason, Vyasadeva entitled Chapter 19 of Canto 5 Description of the Island of Jambudvipa. In that chapter, two prayers are given that are separate from the rest of the inhabitants of Jambudvipa. The Bharatavarsa referred to in that chapter was that of India, and indeed is right, as the chapter is a code to explain time in the universe. Time begins from seconds (as seen in our Earth of Bharata), and it expands until it creates universal time, which is then but 12 hours of a larger circle of Brahma’s time. This goes on for two paradas (halves) of Brahmas life, or in other words, until a complete 100 years of Brahmas time is up. This word “parada” is important. It means two halves, which are each a circle of 360. Thus Brahma’s life is measured according to the figure 720, which implies that his nights and days are measured in relation to the 360 degree circles of the sun. To get the seconds of time in the universe, which is the same as the seconds in the lifespan of everyone (100 years), we can do the following simple math: 60 (second) x 60 (minute) x 24 (hour) x 360 (year) x 100 (one life). The answer is 3,110,400,000. This number is the same duration for everyone in the universe; however, some people (and entities in other bodies) experience it as seconds, some as minutes, some as hours, some as days, and some as years. These are the five circles of reality known as the five samvatsaras (samvatsara, idavatsara, parivatsara, anuvatsara, and vatsara). If you add five zeros (for the five samvatsaras from Jambu to Puskara) to the end of the above number (3,110,400,000), you get 311,040,000,000,000. That is the lifespan of Brahma, and only he experiences the final circle of years, called vatsara, or the complete circle of reality. In Bible also many sentences enshrine that father of God or God will forgive you, that father is the Krishna who is everything. Your idea will get clear after reading Chapter 9,10 and 11. Many youngsters (especially in India, mind you) are very westernized and do not understand or endeavour to show interest in the Geeta because of the conservative viewpoint usually assumed by traditional teachers. What were the inner feelings and emotions of Shri Krishna when he preached the Geeta? All inner feelings cannot be expressed in words. Some can be told, some are expressed through the body language, and the rest are to be realized which can only be understood by a seeker through experiences. Only after attaining the state which Shri Krishn had been to, an accomplished teacher knows what Geeta says. He simply does not reiterate verses of the Geeta but, in fact, gives expressions to the inner feelings of the Geeta. This is possible because he sees the same picture which was there when Shri Krishn preached the Geeta. He therefore, sees the real meaning, can show it to us, can evoke the inner feelings and would lead us on the path to Enlightenment.
'Rev. Shri Paramhansji Maharaj' was also an enlightened teacher of such a level and the compilation of his words & blessings to grasp the inner feelings of the Geeta itself is the ˜Yatharth Geeta'.

Why is it so difficult to understand for so many people in the comments? When Krishna says he is 'Brahman' or the supreme consciousness (not god, there is no concept of a god in Bhagawat Gita), he is also referring to Arjuna as part of the same consiousness as well as everyone, every animal on Earth. The 'Viswaroopa' or the grand image of Krishna is basically conveying that everyone is connected and he himself is connected to all through the same consiousness.

Lets do some simple math... 'It is said that Lord Brahma divided the egg of the universe first into three divisions and
later into fourteen (SB. 3.10.8). Those three divisions are called Bhu, Bhuvar, and Svar lokas. Bhuvarloka is said to be the space that divides the top of the universe from the bottom. This
is better expressed in the following analogy from Canto 5.
As a grain of wheat is divided into two parts and one can estimate the size of the upper part by knowing that of the lower, so, expert geographers instruct, one can understand the measurements of the upper part of the universe by knowing those of the lower part. The sky between the earthly sphere and heavenly sphere is called antariksa, or outer space. It adjoins the top of the sphere of earth and the bottom of that of heaven.
(SB.5.21.2)Herein we are informed of two spheres of existence; the earth and heaven. These spheres are in relation to the lifespan of living entities. Those in the lower sphere are said to be in the
earthly sphere and this area includes the abodes of the demigods, demons, and humans that are destroyed or cleansed within 12 hours of Brahma. The heavenly sphere, which is located above Bhuvarloka, operates on a different timeframe, but one that is also contained within the kala-chakra of Brahma.
We know that the lifespan of our universe is equal to 4,320,000,000 years (on our Earth as time stands now). We know also that the four millenniums, Satya, Treta, Dvarpara, and Kaliamount to 4,320,000 years, which is then equal to 12,000 years of the demigods (SB.
3.11.18). That means we are in relation to the demigods at 360:1-a perfect circle! (If you multiply 12,000 by 360 you get 4,320,000). Sri Maitreya Rishi said:
Two solar movements make one day and night of the demigods, and that combination of day and night is one complete calendar year for the human being. The human being has a duration of life of one hundred years. (SB. 3.11.12)
The complete lifespan of the universe happens when the four yugas pass 1,000 times, thus the universe lasts for 4,320,000,000 (of our) years before it is cleansed with water. Maitreya gives this time as Brahma’s day, thus, as 4,320,000,000 years pass on Earth 12 hours pass on Brahmaloka (SB. 3.11.22).
In the above sloka presented by Sukadeva, people on Maharloka have a life expectancy of 4,300,000,000 years. That figure is less than the lifespan of our universe! This is important to
notice. Sukadeva also mentioned that on Satyaloka the lifespan was 15,480,000,000,000 years (just over 15 trillion years). We know that Lord Brahma lives on Satyaloka and that his lifespan is not 15 trillion years but rather 311 trillion years, thus his place is not the same as the Satyaloka mentioned herein, as his lifespan is 20 times as long.
If you multiply the 4,300,000,000 years of Maharloka by 360, you get the figure
1,548,000,000,000 years. This number is the same as the residents of Satyaloka but with a power of ten short.
Looking at these figures, it seems apparent that there is a further circle of reality in the heavens that represents the upper and lower regions of a heavenly sphere. However, the distance from the bottom of the sphere to the top is not in relation to 360, but rather 3,600. In the two examples I have cited, we see that there are two circles of time going on, which are termed as Earth and Heaven, and also the final time of Brahma is in relation to the lower time of our Earth, which then encompasses the realms of Bhu, Bhuvar and Svar as one
complete universe. This information was given by Sukadeva using just three slokas, SB. 2.2.24-26, and this is what is meant by the Bhagavatam containing codes.
In the universe, we are the highest point of degradation and Brahma is the highest point of organization. Time, therefore, is calculated according to Brahma’s lifespan, and everything in
between makes up his moments, hours, days, years etc. This is expressed by the sun going over the three areas Bhu, Bhuvar, and Svar lokas and creating universal time. It is connected to the five circles of time known as Samvatsara, Idavatsara, Parivatsara, Anuvatsara, and
Vatsara (SB. 5.22.7).
If you multiply Earth’s time of 60 seconds by 60 minutes by 12 hours (60x60x12) you get the figure 43,200. If you then realize that there are five samvatsaras of time, which correlate
with the five islands from Plaksadvipa to Sakadvipa and therefore make time from Jambudvipa up to Puskaradvipa, you then have the beginning and end of time in the universe. That would mean 43,200 then gets five zeros, as each island out expands to the same ratio of one power of ten. We then get 4,320,000,000, which makes universal time align with our
Earth of Jambudvipa and the outermost island of Puskaradvipa. Indeed, for this reason, Vyasadeva entitled Chapter 19 of Canto 5 Description of the Island of Jambudvipa. In that chapter, two prayers are given that are separate from the
rest of the inhabitants of Jambudvipa.
The Bharatavarsa referred to in that chapter was that of India, and indeed is right, as the chapter is a code to explain time in the universe. Time begins from seconds (as seen in our Earth of Bharata), and it expands until it creates
universal time, which is then but 12 hours of a larger circle of Brahma’s time.
This goes on for two paradas (halves) of Brahmas life, or in other words, until a complete 100 years of Brahmas time is up. This word “parada” is important. It means two halves, which are each a
circle of 360. Thus Brahma’s life is measured according to the figure 720, which implies that his nights and days are measured in relation to the 360 degree circles of the sun.
To get the seconds of time in the universe, which is the same as the seconds in the lifespan of everyone (100 years), we can do the following simple math: 60 (second) x 60 (minute) x
24 (hour) x 360 (year) x 100 (one life). The answer is 3,110,400,000. This number is the same duration for everyone in the universe; however, some people (and entities in other bodies) experience it as seconds, some as minutes, some as hours, some as days, and some as years. These are the five circles of reality known as the five samvatsaras (samvatsara, idavatsara, parivatsara, anuvatsara, and vatsara). If you add five zeros (for the five samvatsaras from Jambu to Puskara) to the end of the above number (3,110,400,000), you get 311,040,000,000,000. That is the lifespan of Brahma, and only he experiences the final circle of years, called vatsara, or the complete circle of reality.
The five samvatsaras, which are circles of 360 degrees, eventually pass by and become the 360 degree circles of seconds, minutes, hours, days, and years of Brahma..'

Dharma in those days meant "duty", not exactly purpose. Arjun's dharma as warrior means, his duty as a warrior, while doing his job is to fight. Other meaning of Dharma is "justice" or what is right.Also about Krishna, thanks for trying to explain about him. Our job is to open our eyes from our illusionary state to awaken into enlightenment of our true being. It’s like a caterpillar awakening out of its cocooned state of slumber to have transformed.
