Rumi - The Sunrise Ruby
THE SUNRISE RUBY
In the early morning hour,
just before dawn, lover and beloved wake
and take a drink of water.
She asks, "Do you love me or yourself more?
Really, tell the absolute truth."
He says, "There is nothing left of me.
I'm like a ruby held up to the sunrise.
Is it still a stone, or a world
made of redness? It has no resistance
to sunlight."
This is how Hallaj said, I am God,
and told the truth!
The ruby and the sunrise are one.
Be courageous and discipline yourself.
Completely become hearing and ear,
and wear this sun-ruby as an earring.
Work. Keep digging your well.
Don't think about getting off from work.
Water is there somewhere.
Submit to a daily practice.
Your loyalty to that
is a ring on the door.
Keep knocking, and the joy inside
will eventually open a window
and look out to see who's there.

It is talking about Big Bang! Water is wrong translation, it is ether, the fabric that holds the universe that we are yet trying to identify. It is questioning the existence of God. Does he know how it was created or maybe he doesnt. No other religion has ever questioned this aspect or limitations or existence of God.

The translation is beyond butchery. If you want to understand the real meaning of any ancient text, you need to learn the language it was composed in. Thankfully ancient Sanskrit still survives to this day. So you mean to say.. 3000 years ( aliveness though current dating goes back at least 5000 years ) ago some people simply designed most modern language ( only natural languange which is unambiguous and has a perfect grammer with precise rules unlike any other lanuage on planet, rule based way to pronounce same so accuratly that it survived 3000 years, there are so many concepts of lossless and self correcting error mechanishnism built in the language) and then composed concepts which you feel were primal in nature. The didn't even understand the question which were tried to address and BTW same are still unsolved.. these vedas calculate time in nano seconds to billions years and earth's age calculated is around 4 billion years. LOL

The "Water" reffered here is not water, its the cosmic water or the space. without subtle vision these inner meanings of the hyms cannot be understood

Bhagvat Gita is not the most important text it's arthasastra the most brutal realistic book written in human history
Though the poetic lines in the begining of the hymn were to make understand the vastness of the universe, the essence lies in the last lines. In summary every thought was challenged with 'negation' of that thought and they continued to dig more and more...Seekers they were....!

The problem with western thinker is that they believe their understanding is far superior than anyone else but when it's comes to indigenous scriptures better follow local well known philosophers and historian especially when it's comes to ancient India knowledge.

Can you post the English version of the Gita you are using. (the author and title). There are many versions out there.
By reading it doesn't mean you understand Geeta....
Also there exists multiple treatise written detail about the deeper meaning of Gita. Though the translations are okish. Reading those treatise give more deeper philosophical meanings.
The clauses related to rebirth (regarding days, seasons etc) mentioned are for non yogis.
Don't read to misunderstand any scripts.
There is a huge difference between Lord Krishna and Jesus Christ Krishna was a king but Jesus was a common man if he claimed that he is the kind then he should have chopped off so there is a difference between God and a mystic Guru.🙏

Water mentioned in that is kshirsagar, ocean of cosmos. You read Nasadiya Sukta. Read Hiranyagarbha sukta. You will know that world is not only physical thing.
