    I have to tell you that this is the best video I’ve seen. I’ve been watching video after video but this is the best video for a water pump change out on a Ford 3.7 V6 engine for the F150. I have to change one out and you make it look real easy. You’re a very good step-by-step teacher. Thank you very much for that. Great job man!

    Thank you for your detailed video.
    I just did the job on my truck and everything went well except removing the thermostat housing from the black pipe on the top left.
    Corrosion got the better of it so it took me about 10-15 minutes of penny lube, wee bit of heat, wee bit of beat and a whole lot of praying but alas, my method sufficed... I think the guy before me put too much silicone gasket maker kinda like you did. LOL

    Next time remove the belt so you don't ruin it spilling coolant all over it. Otherwise, great vid

    Try using needle nose pliers or hose clap pliers, you can get those at harbor freight or Home Depot

    Torque spec is 7 or 17 foot lbs?

    What the average cost for this job?

    @justinwallace6258 Рік тому +2

    Great video! "BUT" That 45° turn after it's torqued is BS. I think they want you to do that so the dealerships have more to fix after you snap a bolt off in the timing chain cover...17 foot LBS is just way too much, I just replaced my water pump in same exact truck, and snapped one off at 12 foot LBS.

      What torque do you recommend for the water pump 10ft Lbs ?

    • @justinwallace6258
      @justinwallace6258 Рік тому

      @@ROROSMACHINE ten flbs is probably fine, I would put a thin layer of rtv on sealing surfaces and tighten just nice and snug.

    FYI the number on that water pump that you said is a part number is in fact not a part number it's an engineering number, big difference

  • @luciano3617
    @luciano3617 6 місяців тому

    So its 17ft pounds? Not 7 ? Because you said 7 twice.

    At 16:30 you point to an O-Ring but you don't mention replacing the black seal that you point to. What about replacing that seal?

    • @doodoobutter4406
      @doodoobutter4406 Рік тому

      nope dont think its needed to replace

      What’s that seal you didn’t replace on the bottom of where the water pumps mounts

    The waterpump is timing chain driven. That’s not the pump. The pump is behind the timing chain cover

    • @lassaut6794
      @lassaut6794 Рік тому +3

      Not on the 3.7 in the f150. Apparently the Edge has a chain driven water pump.
      I just finished doing it on this exact same model truck. What do you think the impeller on the pump you believe is not the pump does?

    • @ROROSMACHINE
      @ROROSMACHINE Рік тому +2

      L'assaut6 is correct, the Transverse escape 3.7 has an internal pump because of engine compartment confinement...
      The 3.7 Longitudinal engine has an internal delete and a standard belt driven front mount impeller design..
      These 3.7s are excellent engines and with proper care could likely go 500 thousand miles...
      If you have an earlier model with Orange coolant you may want to flush the system thoroughly and use the pink hybrid coolant, but you must flush all the Dex Cool crap out thoroughly because they do not mix well and can cause chemical reaction damage...
