My sincere apology for such strong and hard voice, I've not done anything like this before so...not sure what I was talking about
These shoes belong to a friend of mine, we worked on and won the auction together and grabbed this pair for a nice deal!
- I stripped the shoes' acrylic finish with rubbing alcohol (keep switching to a cleaner area of the rag) until no more shiny spots remained, the shoes were left to rest and dry overnight.
- I put 2 coats of Bick 4 off the camera and proceed as you can see in the video.
The camera went out of battery without me noticing but I only buff with goathair and clean cotton cloth off the camera. - Розваги
I know this is a very very old video but I am extremely impressed with it because I started watching shoe shine video's 6 years ago on the Elegent Oxford channel and in all those 6 years I have watched hundreds and hundreds of shoe shine/shoe clean videos from loads of different shoe shine content creators from around the world and this video is the ONLY one I have seen that has done a FULL clean and shine of the shoe. Not one video has done a clean of the inside of the shoe or the sole of the shoe. Shoe shine should have a standard but it doesn't because everyone cleans shoes differently. Many do not brush dirt off the shoes and many that do do not wash off dirt off the shoe. There needs to be an international shoe shine standard so when someone goes to get their shoes shined they know it is being done to a universal standard.
thank you very much for your kind words!
This video was made right after I came back home from work. The workshop was also in need of a cleanup and reorganization.
Additionally, I believe shoecare must be thorough inside out with no corners cut. This video was made specifically with the same mindset.
I'm not the first to ever share any thorough shoeshine videos but I am proud that my method stays true and honest.
I've seen far too often all these "shoeshine influencers" doing some super fancy camera work and narration to fool everyone into doing partial work and gain more followers. Some of those I shared my method with. Some have been doing exactly some of the steps I do.
I haven't made many videos and shoeshine for the last few years. I'll try to resume making more, soon!
The care must be thorough inside out and no corners cut.
I think your video saved my favorite pair of shoes. I have some vintage 93605s that are in amazing shape. But the two shoes look like step sisters: one is very glossy (almost plastic looking) and the other is matte. They are also different shades of #8. I tried everything to get them to match in sheen and color. Someone on the Facebook vintage shoe page referred me to this video, which I’ve seen many times (I think your videos are great and I’ve learned a lot from them). I followed your lead here and stripped the acrylic finish on both, conditioned, and hit them with a couple of rounds of Saphir cordovan cream. Magic! The color and sheen are even and there is way more depth. Thank you. I can’t decide whether to strip my vintage AE MacNeil shells and my 93603s (PTB shell). Those two shoes already look good so I may leave them alone.
PS. Keep the videos coming and keep talking! I learn from the narration. Thanks!
good to know you have succeeded with my video! keep up the good work!

Grtnx King! Gv thx 4 giving good examples in teaching by doing. I allways thought to mask up with low tec tape b4 sanding sole sides, but I remembered masters worx are uncomparable to the limits of beginner students lyk I. Lol. Gd work my lord. i've worn florsheim imperial shoes for 50 years, and only had 4 pair.i think they are some of the best shoes made.
They really are some of the best Goodyear welted shoes ever made

as always, great video! I'm glad you started talking a bit. I've been using your advice to get killer shines on my leathers :)
my only real question is how do I actually remove, for example, a mirror shine thats cracked or become opaque due to scratching?
@@bilalmalik5428 you can use citrus oil, Angelus SPot Remover, Saphir Renomat, any of those

What color sapphire cream did you use for color 4 when renovating your shoes? Thanks
I STILL CANT UNDERSTAND WHY PEOPLE GIVE THIS A THUMBS DOWN. they must not appreciate quality.
maybe insecure hater/loser?
#1 working on a board..#2 working on soles and scratching the leather on the wood....
I noticed that in this video you are using Saphir Renovateur whilst on the other pair of Florsheim 93605's you used VSC as a conditioner. Which one do you think is better on shell cordovan?
they both produce similar results, VSC however sometimes cause raised/dull spots (when in contact with water) easier than Saphir Reno, but not all the time. It is an easy fix by wiping with damp clothing then brushing til your arms fall off.
How the AE cream compared to Saphir? Thanks
I love your un-cut videos its so relaxing and I get to fully see your care for the shoes.Btw,may I know where you are from?
I was born and raised in VN, but have resided in Portland, OR for the last few years.
VN?Vietnam?
yes it is!

Are liquid cleaners preferred over saddle soap? I am wondering when to use the saddle soup in the shining routine. Thanks.
these shoes are made of shell cordovan and I never use saddle soap on shell cordovan.
liquid cleaners only clean and opens up the leather pores, while saddle soap, cleans, opens and raises the leather pores.
I used saddle soap on my Ariats, night and day difference. Love SS
Hi! I have acetone laying around. Can i use that instead to remove the acrylic finish from the leather? Have you done this and is would you recommend me to do that? Hope to get your expert opinion. Thanks.
Yes that's what other professionals use, and I've used it successfully : ua-cam.com/video/omv9VzU51mQ/v-deo.html
Great stuff. Sorry - off topic, but what kind of watch is that? Totally goes with your suit, old world charm.
ahhh, the good old gold day date :D
What's the camera you use
I wanna see your watch collection!!!!
This guy is like the new Jason Dornstar,
Why don't you explain what you're using
You can watch ‘the elegant oxford’.He is very professional.
How does the alcohol shape the sole? Does is straighten out any curling? Also is it pure alcohol or diluted? Thanks.
with water, it penetrates deeply and as water evaporates it shrinks and straightens the leather sole with the tension from shoe trees
Thanks. What the ratio of water to alcohol? I ask because I’m restoring some vintage Florsheims with a sole curl. Thanks.
I was using 1:1 in this video
Excellent work, you put on a suit and tie and dress watch to polish your shoes? OK, I subscribed to your blog.
thank you! but not really, that's how I dress for my work, this is right after work
Dear Scott, you are going to drive shoe brush makers out of business!
I can't believe he's polishing a black shoe with a light dress shirt and tie, and not a single stain!
Pablo Goldbarg poop poopoo
Anything special about using that stick or bone he rubbed on the shoe? What did it do?
Wayde Swilling it changes the molecular structure of the microscopic organisms which can ruin a shoe if you skip this process. Any stick or bone will do.
Deer bone , takes out the rolls in shell Cordovan, brings oils to the surface adding luster as well as shine.
What kind of alcohol are you using? Would isopropyl alcohol from a drug store work?
that's exactly what I was using here
Great video sir .. I’m in the market for some really nice long lasting dress shoes can you give me the 3 top brands to get? Comfort ability is #1 and thank you ahead of time
that's a very broad question to answer. I will need price range, materials, design preference to better narrow down for you
Allen Edmonds, Foot Joy, etc...
Is that rain in the background? It sounds so lovely. Shoe cleaning videos relax me so much. However, please get a throat lozenge and speak a bit softer for your ASMR fans 😄 thank you!
thank you for your feedback!
When I purchase my oxfords or dress shoes I always make sure the brogueing isn’t too heavy. I don’t like a really complex shoe.
what are you spraying on the bottom of the shoes? alcohol? you don't spit shine at least the toes and heals of the shoes?
please see the pinned comment
I put thompson water seal on the bottom of my leather shoes.
that works, too. I used to use different products on the leather soles but ever since I moved on to JR leather soles and higher, I just either skipp any products or put a rubber solesaver on instead
Must be down south with those birds
cool
another awesome vid!!
thank you for being my loyal fan! More videos coming in the future! :-)
The hose on the alcohol spray bottle is too long, so it is getting choked against the edge of bottle and not letting any alcohol get through. That's why when you opened it and closed it again, it slightly re-positioned it, which allowed it to let liquid through again. I would recommend cutting a little bit off of the bottom of the hose.
I don't think this is the reshoven8r
Hmm..
1. Step one: Clear your bags of garbage off the floor.
2. Step two: Polish your dress shoes.
Got it!
also clean your Camera lens as it seems a bit foggy and not so clean of a shoe
What happened.boss
Before you leave, don't forget to clean your hands and fingernails. that will also take 1.20 time

Do you need an hour twenty minutes for this? You should be able to do that in two minutes 😂

MetalWind I disagree. You sound like a narrow minded fool.
What a screw up can't even put in shoe tress
I find it comical seeing a guy in a messy garage wearing a blazer shining shoes.
pcking2008 1st, it’s a sport jacket not a blazer. 2nd, it’s a workshop not a garage. If you want to troll, learn how to do it properly.
Scott, I just found your channel and I'm devouring the content. I love your style, but I worry that you are going to spill or get some shoe cream on your clothes or sleeves. I ALWAYS spill, and so I'll wear an old sweatshirt or workshop apron. I'm sure you are aware, there are many men out here that have very little knowledge or experience when it comes to properly maintaining and caring for their shoes. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
@@newinspiration2108 .criticism isn't trolling its just telling the truth..I guess people didn't see the marks you left on the leather..
@@Rick-tb4so of course only you see dust on the shoes and claim it scuff. While the owner of the shoes never complains, only the clueless outsiders do.
Find another job you just scratch the hell out of the leather while working on the soles....
How about you either keep learning and stand corrected or go find something meaningful to do instead of random internet troll?
@@newinspiration2108 ...Maybe if you can't take the heat get out of the kitchen....
