Honestly the fact that he goes through and explains the cleaners in detail and tells his rating on a professional/ consumer level is great. I enjoy his video's a lot, and as far as shortening the video's goes than I'd have to say he has shortened them considerably depending on the cleaners/ content of his early video's. Scott Much love!

I looked up this cleaner on the Superclean website. This is actually an acidic cleaner. Its SDS states it has a ph of 0.5-1. The bottle says it contains oxalic acid. I bought it.

THIS STUFF WORKS REALLY WELL !!!! It actually is the same stuff as Purple Power. I've used it on chrome wheels for years with great results.

The wheel does look very bright. I agree, no residue, so the chrome really sparkles. Nice product.
Been using it for a while. Cant seem to find anything better. Careful the Super Clean Degreaser vs Super Clean Wheel Cleaner. Both are in a purple bottle, but I mistakenly used the degreaser on a coated surface an it messed up the finish. Be sure to use buy the Wheel Cleaner.
To anybody wondering, I looked up the sds and this is actually an acid based wheel cleaner with a ph of 1.5.
I always assumed it was just a tweaked version of superclean degreaser, but the ingredients are totally different.
I used this a couple of weeks ago on my truck wheels and tires. I thought it did a great job and only complaint was I used the whole bottle on all four wheels. O'Rielly had them for buy 1 get one free so I gave it a shot.

Bought some based on this review. I only have a single car to maintain. A Forester w alloy wheels. Works amazingly well. My wheels don’t get all that dirty so a quick spray down with light agitation does the trick. Rinse, dry, apply tire dressing and they look great. Maximum return for minimal effort.
Used the product today on aluminum and the shine was awesome!
I lovee super clean!! It works great on really really dirty wheels and tires and even fungy car paint. I use it with the foam cannon to strip any protection on paint before i paint correct

Hey Scott, do you have tips for cleaning gloss black wheels? They seem to scratch real easy, be interested to see a guide on that if you can make one? And would meguiars wheel brightener be safe to use on gloss black?

You can buy this online by the gallon. And you can dilute it. But I use the Meguair, actually you can basically buy all of Meguairs detailing products and you won’t go wrong.
I bought a container of Super Clean today (general purpose, not wheel cleaner) and it worked incredibly well! I had thick brake dust and lots of grease after having some new tires put on. Came right off, no fuss. Used it on the tires, too. They're not shiny, but they're very clean for the moment. :p Might try the furniture polish trick for the tires.

Is superclean and the all wheel cleaner the same product but just in a foaming trigger sprayer ?

I came to the same conclusions as you about the post agitation look on that wheel. It's coming through the lens and is noticeable that it is extremely shiny! Will I buy it? Maybe someday but I am happy with the one gallon. Your review didn't really help or hurt any of that. But I applaud you for your transparency!

I haven't tried this Scott. I like super clean better than simple green for all purpose. But I'm very pleased with the simple green wheel cleaner not sure if you tried it but next time I have extra money I buy and this super wheel cleaner and compare it to the simple green wheel cleaner

Wondering if anyone has compared Super Clean to Meg's Hot Rims. What one would you prefer? Have some moderate to heavy brake dust to remove.

I have used this since the 90s. The best way I have found to clean with this is to go to a car wash and I spray my wheels and use the pressure washer with soap. It makes them look brand new. If you have white letter tires spray some on it and same outcome.
what's the difference between this and the regular super clean
I don't believe in metal wheel cleaners. I just use some Dawn in water, mix it up, spray it or, and just give the wheel a wipe down. Looks the same to me, as I don't like any harsh chemical's. Works for me.

Scott, do you have any advice on cleaning adhesive from dealership stickers on wheels? I'm dialing in my friends new car and the dealer left sticker adhesive on the wheels. Do I just quit over thinking it and break out the citrol or is there a better way?

That's weird. Looking at this video and the Meguiars video, you used the same method and got the same results on both videos. You never mentioned diluting Meguiars. Is that the only difference?

With time regular super clean will dull the finish of mag wheels.
For us that use the Meg's wheel cleaner with acid any tips for getting the spray nozzle to last, I've cashed 2 in the past couple of weeks. Or any tips on reviving them after they quit? I've tried compressed air thru both ends and no luck.
i have heard and i have done it in the past, have a 32oz bottle with just distilled water ready and at the end of the day take the nozzle (spray head) from your bottle of megs wheel brightener and mount it to the other bottle with water and pull the trigger and completely flush the sprayer with the distilled water...you may find it last longer so the acid based cleaner isn't sitting in the nozzle over night and breaking down the seals over time...its a little time consuming but it has helped me in the past..i hope that helps Rich
Rich Beach buy the pro bottles at home Depot those meguiar sprayers don't last at all the chemical breaks down the seal inside the sprayer causing it to go bad buy a better bottle that says it can be used with chemicals like the 2 at home Depot.

However, we hear from many auto detailers who use the degreaser on tires that are more dirty as they find it is better at breaking down the greasy parts and get the tire cleaner. It doesn't take much of a cleaner to clean chromed wheels. Try it on some non-polished aluminum wheels.
How can I get this product?
For that wheel, compared to a microfiber and some mild detailer, I don't see a major use for super clean wheel cleaner. I think super clean is awesome, but in this particular use, it doesn't make sense.

No. You can use it on aluminum but beware that SuperClean is very alkaline and will even damage and strip many ceramic coatings even. I learned the hard way thinking my wife's coated vehicle would be safe but it literally stripped off the super hydrophobic coating and I had to re polish and re-coat it from the lower half of the doors downward. Not sure if the wheel cleaner is any less concentrated but there too, I wouldn't use it except on really dirty / bad wheels that are going to be properly cleaned and coated.
Why would you say it isn't dilutable? Any liquid cleaner is dilutable. By adding water to the chemical, makes it weaker; therefore, may require more product to be used.

Dallas Paint Correction & Auto Detailing just had an idea.....bare with me. I am just wondering how cleaning vinegar...6% acidity would clean a wheel compared to wheel brightener...be very interesting to see the differences...i know that cleaning vinegar(not white vinegar 5% acidity) can be used as a degreaser and a all purpose cleaner. Just curious because a gallon of cleaning vinegar is like 3 bucks....sounds like video material....

yes for wheel cleaner i agree and if we are talking about megs wheel brightener....but as for a APC or degreaser, super clean wins as for money and efficiency,in my world anyway plus i have been buying megs all purpose cleaner and super degreaser for years and now i just need one product instead of two:)
