To be fair, Doomguy has canonically been defeated in the first few games a couple times. The issue for the demons is that he's basically a Slasher Villain. He will _always_ come back, and usually stronger and _angrier_ than before.
I was going to say "We need to have a talk about those save filenames, Icarus," but a quick glance downwards and I can see roughly 40% of the comments have already covered it.
The logical continuation of the concept of Imp-patience. So rather than playing the part of one of the imps in doom and doom 2 fighting the doomguy as he invades hell, now you're a sole imp actually invading the humans' stronghold instead. That's good. Destroy those pesky humans little demon, they ruined everything!
We need Mario Odyssey doom mod where you gain demons abilities to attack, gain bonuses(flight with lost soul, wall-breaking charge with pinky, etc) or progress through the level.
3:45 Lost Soul morph really sells it with the banking when turning - Descent comparison is totally justified. :) Doom mod/TC called "Virus" lets you play as a 'spore', a green flying head spitting inhabitant of a Physical Computer Space (think of Tron or Reboot). It's a bit odd, like the textures are solid colors on purpose and level design is quite geometric (using lot's of basic shapes) but it's usually more open spaces than tight corridors of Descent mines.
Creating a lost soul mod with maps specifically designed to take advantage of the 6DoF nature sounds like a nightmare due to how the doom engine handles room over room
@@cf5765 you are a genious, yes but then what you get their abillties. And weapons what. like It is a good idea but more ideas woud be needed to make this a thing
@@deadiwtd1858 You'd get their abilities and basic default weapons, but depending on the body type you could pick up more weapons from fallen enemies. Mainly if you have arms that aren't guns or something. If you run out of health, you don't straight up die, but the body does. Then you have to highjack a new body and start the weapon collecting again.
Yeah, I don't think I'll be bothering with this one. Fighting my way through wave after wave of hitscan enemies with the equivalent of a herring in the early going really does not seem fun. The original Doom at least gives you access to the shotgun on the first level. This is like fighting through the first couple of maps on Nightmare with just the pistol. And while this mod does look polished and it's not badly done by any means, the weapons just seem underwhelming. It's the same feeling I got from Doom 3's shotgun. Nothing feels punchy enough.
Tweaking the Doom 3 shotgun to have a realistic spread will remedy that feeling quite handily. Fixing everything else about that game is unfortunately not as easy.
