There are only 2 headsets you should need: 1) lightweight, passthrough, moisture wicking - casual everyday use and exercise, basically just there to add HUD to your everyday tasks and provide anywhere video/screens to whatever you're doing. Ideally have eye+mouth tracking and allow you to output video images of your avatar for video conference calls without needing a physical camera actually pointing at you. 2) Full immersion track everything hand controls etc - VR deep dive simulation and games. This is for when you need to have full control over whatever it is you're doing in the virtual world. Ideally this will still have some fans and/or cooling options, and also have limb/eye/mouth tracking, but physical hand controls built off of what the index controllers started is a must. Passthrough is honestly optional here, but if you've got the cameras doing inside out tracking, you might as well let it do passthrough at the same time.
@@technolus5742 - Eh, I'm not going to be unrealistic though. Lightweight is never going to be lightweight ENOUGH. Meta is doing great in VR industry . They are absolutely going to right way , it's really wonderful move which they let other companies use big library of meta
I doubt Apple pushed Meta to opening up to other manufacturers. Google did. They're currently working on their own XR version of Android and that could be a much bigger threat for Meta than Apple. The Vision Pro is not for gaming and it's $3500 or more. Google and their partners could release devices that are actually affordable. While Google also sells phones running Android, they're mainly the company that builds Android AAAAAAND, here it gets important, puts their Play Store on every Android phone, sucking out 30% of every sale. So at this point, Meta can't stop other manufacturers entering this market. When Google just gives them an XR version of Android, they gonna build the hardware for it. So let's assume Meta wouldn't opening up their software. The market could look a lot like what we see with smartphones. There would be a lot of manufacturers, most of them running Google's XR Android with the Play Store and only Meta and Apple having their own store for their devices. That is NOT what Meta wants. If there will be other manufacturers in this market anyway and they can't stop it anymore, at least they want them to be in Meta's Horizon ecosystem and not in Google's Play ecosystem. They want those 30% from the Horizon Store and they want control over the market with their Horizon OS.

I think that having headsets for a specific task is great as why have a full blown gamer capable headset if you only browse the web and watch HD movies ? a Nice light weight headset would be my go to as why watch movies on a $800 headset when a $400 or less could do the job and be half the weight maybe ? Also I worked in a Customer support office for a year just before I retired and a Headset able to copy the screens we used and have hand gesture rather than mouse would save so many RSI injuries and bad backs, there are thousands of reasons to have specific to needs versions, Architechs, Engineers Scientists, many that don't need game play, just either full immersive or great quality AR or minute detail capabilities as well as having something full scale or able to disassemble in real time. Even dare I say a compact version for Mechanics and such that can have a detailed list of tools or steps or even just tips or hints as they are working and can tick off as they complete sections, it could also help them make sure they have the tools and items they may need as they go, not sure myself but if they were the size of goggles or glasses and could be safety glasses at the same time ? I can bet you that we will see many Headsets, Goggles, Glasses and other items we may not even have thought of as we are not in that field, what about Dr''s and Nurses able to double check doses as well as a detailed patient screen to the side and able to update what has been done or what needs to be done for the patient, so many things possible :)

And with steam being on windows and microsoft owning windows I'm holding out hope that maybe steam vr can eventually come to xbox in some form.
@Thezuule1 I feel like with the cloud gaming through Quest maybe they're just not telling anyone. Clearly, they have "some" interest in VR. This could be their chance to not have to actually make a headset by just partnering with Meta. Just gotta work out the kinks. Just wishful thinking.
That's actually a very very good question. I would say the answer should be yes. After all if you buy a new android phone you get to keep all your apps that you bought on your old one. No matter the brand.
While I think you're right to be concerned about there being different headsets for all the use-cases, the fitness-oriented example would be something I'd give serious consideration. No way in hell would I exercise in my Quest Pro, my Quest 1 is way too front-heavy, and upgrading from my Quest 1 to a Quest 2 just for fitness feels like a colossal waste given how much tech not aimed squarely at fitness is crammed into that thing.
This is a warning shot to google who have refused to put the android play store on Quest because they are making their own mixed reality headset and have some companies of their own on board.
I think the full quote that we often leave out the end part of, is a supporting argument here for the single headsets that do a single thing. "A jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one."

So im gonna have a brain lag every time you start a video with this Dzien dobry? Your accent sounds to well. Also i think the different headsets may vary more for performance and budget. A high performance headsted should easily be able to do all of the options. But if someone wants to just watch movies an headset like that would be overkill and be too pricey. A little Jailbreaking at the end!! I used to JB all my devices and it was the best....I remeber doing the Iphone 6 and installing Cydia. The best times!! Thanks for the always informative and enjoyable content!!
I've always been under the impression or thought process that the best use case for mixed reality. When I first seen the magic leap was to go outside and play pokémon or have giant dragons that you would fight turn base outside but that's just me.
i think apple helped the push and zuc realized it doesnt hurt him so bad..but i also think he realized the money he would make being the only company working on it cost more overall than just opening up and letting others try with the meta software.. opening to companies that are making their own moves without wanting to go all in like Microsoft and google..meta trying to be the VR version of android and soon microsoft will focus on their cloud services. creating what will hopefully become a lightweight VR/XR headset based solely on the cloud.... im really excited for AROG version myself..
0:43 So does that mean I won't have to plug my Quest into my PC to download some spicy adult apps, or will those still be regulated? 🤣🤣😂😂
Might be related to downloading an apk but idk. I’m no expert, I just used some vr app with a Grox from Spore as the icon to install AnyDesk onto my headset. It’s pretty much the meta remote desktop but with mouse controls. Unfortunately the keyboard doesn’t work until you press enter.
@@nobbyfirefly57 "british secondary school" well, I hope you ain't like 12, bcs you shouldn't do this. 😭 But what the hell, I'm not your parent. Not my job 💀💀

Can you use a headset to talk to people in your game like Rainbow Six Siege when you are playing on the Xbox cloud?
The sale you mentioned seems to be regional as a lot of people on reddit don’t see any special deals including myself
This is HUGE! Good job META👍🏾
Is the xbox quest 3 gonna have actual controllers???
Is it normal that the eyes are burning after vr gaming ? I bought eyedrops but it doesnt helped realy .😶
Meta and monogon are slowly becoming closer together the more meta expands and explores
First it was a rebrand to a M name
Now Meta os vs monogon os
They both sell headsets for vr ranging prices
Horizon OS is huge!!
When will actual VR games come to Gamepass?
How do you always find something to talk about? Such as news and information.
So what this means is next month when I decide to use my Quest 2 again, I’ll have to go through a bunch of updates 😅 I only use my quest is spurts every few months and evvvery time haha. Probably next year I’ll upgrade to a pro or 3, I think many of the updates will make me more excited to use the headset
When does it come out?
This is good we need more people working and putting stuff out for it and developing this the future jump in now if you are a game or software this a gold mine and just gonna get bigger
Thanks for sharing! By the way the saying goes “Jack of all trades, master of none, is still always better than a master of one.”
"Breaking news; today's news is rather large"
The pyrocynical video in my recommended:
The Meta Quest Xbox Edition could also bring an app to Link Xbox Series and Quest
Hope they finally bring the Horizon App to Europe!
this is great news indeed and also a smart move
dzieki za newsy :)
If done well, Meta may have just made their 'Steam library' of standalone.
Have they fixed the high speed tracking for the quest 3 yet? For games like beat saber
I think tracking on v 64 got a bit worse in some cases
@@madzak9847 jeez
I want hardware options like with cars. I want my light, sleek, sports model and a big, feature heavy, utilitarian model. This is such great news IMO. One step closer to the Ray Ban Quest glasses. IT"S HAPPENING!!!! AHHHHHHHHH! (I'm overhyped)
Imagine if with the new os, you could add it to your phone and use like google cardboard with the os in it.
Will i be able to play xbox game pass and other flat games on the headset?
Vr games are coming too slow and this could make it more interesting for the masses and then vr could grow again bec ppl have a headset.
I’m loving the future of headsets they are getting better and better pretty soon Yal have a ps5 on face or even a pc that would be legit
To use the term 'forever' and even with an exclamation mark is pretty daring. Even after a nuclear war, 'forever' would only be a prediction or the work of fortune-tellers.
Why can’t you stream pc vr quality games from Xbox to quest just flat screen? They should partner up against psvr
Honestly, with the xbox news, I just want to be able to play skyrim vr, fallout vr, and no mans sky vr from the xbox series x and my quest 3. Those are the games I really want to play. And with steam being on windows and microsoft owning windows I'm holding out hope that maybe steam vr can eventually come to xbox in some form.
Also on v65 with no scoped storage still.😂
Microsoft doesn’t appear interested in getting back into the VR market after previous flops.
You can play No Man’s Sky via Game Pass PC on your Quest
@@eviaal8191 I'm talking about somehow getting the vr versions ported. Not the 2d flat
So if I buy a new headset I get to keep all my quest games?
That's actually a very very good question. I would say the answer should be yes. After all if you buy a new android phone you get to keep all your apps that you bought on your old one. No matter the brand.
Nobody know if there is a option to exchange the quest 2 for the quest 3 paying less?
Save up a bit, sell the quest 2, use said money to buy a quest 3 👍🏼 everyone’s a winner 👍🏼
Laser limbo vs space pirate trainer??
Well that would explain the whole 3rd party controller lines....
So does this mean we will get a Halo game built from the ground up in VR ???
This is a warning shot to google who have refused to put the android play store on Quest because they are making their own mixed reality headset and have some companies of their own on board.
I think the full quote that we often leave out the end part of, is a supporting argument here for the single headsets that do a single thing.
"A jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one."
Now waiting for a Samsung headset 😀 with the Meta Horizon OS which seems like the new "Android OS" for headsets
we need to have horizon os on steam so quest games finally work on steamvr
Jail breaking an ipad.... in 2024 HAHA love it (end of credits)
.... Wait that's what ROG stands for?
This is incredibly cool
Very informative channel. Curious why this guy has a permanent smile no matter what he says. Who talks like that?
Me apparently. Guess I'm just quite a positive guy. I get it if it's kind of weird. Breaking the Polish stereotype here 😂
@@TheMysticleWhen I first found your channel years ago, I thought you were Irish 😂. The way you pronounce ‘are’ sound somewhat like Jack Septiceye.
Imagine if meta just did another name change to horizon like that one show upload
Before they changed their name to Meta, I thought they would change it to Horizon.
Meta just busted a Microsoft Windows…… they plan to take over all VR headsets …. So eventually most VR headsets will have the Meta OS….. just like most PCs have the Windows OS….🤯
i‘ve not seen this phenotype of person since 2014
So im gonna have a brain lag every time you start a video with this Dzien dobry? Your accent sounds to well. Also i think the different headsets may vary more for performance and budget. A high performance headsted should easily be able to do all of the options. But if someone wants to just watch movies an headset like that would be overkill and be too pricey. So an small and comfortable headset with good screens would be an better option.
*unexpected polish jumpscare*
So they're wanting to be the android of the vr world. If this doesn't help vr go main stream I don't know what will.
I think the app lab will still be a thing in some way. I read.
Nevermind that there is already a Horizon OS which is what the Nintendo Switch runs on
Nintendo doesn't have "Meta Horizon OS"..
@@smittyvanjagermanjenson182 they better keep that meta in the name or else some people might get confused
@@smittyvanjagermanjenson182 the switch has horizon os, the vr has *meta* horizon os. its just the name so people dont get confused with the switches os and the vrs os
Ogólnie zobaczyłem że Meta udostępniła Meta Horizon Worlds Demo w Polsce :D
They're trying to keep hacker or jailbreaker from getting free apps that aren't allowed third party into the vr, imagine someone using the vr and someone hacks into it they can see through your immersive world and record or use your location to find you 😅 that be scary asf
I hope the Microsoft partnership leads into being able to run full pcvr games from my Series X otherwise that is incredibly boring news.
Meh, thru will make a big deal for MS and couple other customers, but it’s not like they are open sourcing it.
I read the thumbnail and... that's what she said.
If people are going to use the jack of all trades quote can we at least use the full quote because people only use the first half of it. Its actually a quote to say its better to be a jack of all trades. But people never use the 2nd part. The full quote is a jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one
Hope steam games gets added to the horizon store
I'd rather be a jack of all trades than a master of one
nice doggo
Imagine meta OS on PSVR 2
