Pyro feels so star wars-esque. The shapes of the buildings and their materials. You flying the Drake Cutter and landing at that outpost felt so mandalorian.
Thank you for this! I love when we get to see this kind of stuff because a lot of other videos are just focused on the "big stuff", but seeing more of the on-the-ground exploration gives us viewers a nice taste of what's to come. Some of the NPC outfits in Pyro look really cool, especially the guy who looked like Dengar from Star Wars.
This is going to sound really lame... but one think that I really want added are galaxy wide public transit. I know you can see them signed out in ports and cities but the idea of catching an inter-planetary ferry to cross the galaxy would be amazing. It's like a form of fast travel but you have to pay a fare and still need to control your character. Maybe like having your car on a ferry irl, I might fly my small 100 series into a massive ship that ferries me across the entire map without having to refuel several times. Those quality of life things are needed to make the PU feel alive. If you have something advertised on a sign, you need it to be available instead of leading to a dead end and locked doors.

I dont get why people say this game is a scam, (i dont have it but i really like what im seeing) i can understand if the devs take a long time to push out updates, the level of details is just insane.
It's because they take years and years to implement basic features that other games have had for decades, while ships come out in droves and rarely have issues like everything else in the game does.
Because people are impatient and can't appreciate what we already have. Is it a scam, no it's not. Is it highly mismanaged, yes it is. There is absolutely no game that currently can compete with star Citizen so there's no sense of urgency from cig which is why they take their time with things. We still get 4 major updates a year and constant patches, people just love to hate that's all

The clouds are glorious! 😍 I have been sorely missing such a large atmosphere with clouds this big. Everything we get in Stanton is miniscule and feels wrong.
Knowing me, I'd probably never make a PERSONAL base, I learned my lesson in FFXIV that owning a personal home makes me feel more lonely because nobody cares to visit. Would love to feel at home in a large group's base though! Like a scenic science lab nestled peacefully on a verdant atoll on an oceanic world, or a forest cliffside next to a waterfall looking out across snow capped mountains. Am always looking forward to the day exploration and science gameplay actually gets added in.
6:03 I finally realized one of the appeal of the Zeus. Lamborghini Aventador, when they started getting really angular with big intakes. And I am pretty sure you can take your ships underwater now, just not at high speeds.
The broken displays that have broken LCD overlay in elevator and shop displays is crazy detail for immersion. Insanely detailed makes sense with how long it's taken to build Pyro

I feel like this game is best described as: ‘A mile wide but an inch deep’. So many cool locations and set pieces… all empty, can’t interact with anything, NPCs do nothing… nothing to do. I want to love this game so bad, but it’s got eons before it’s where it needs to be.

I've got an asus rog zephyrus m16 laptop. Runs the game well enough. Dips to 30fps only in cities, and most of them aren't even optimized for gpu usage yet. Check your specs against mine; just because it's a laptop doesn't mean you're shut out.
What do you have? You might just need to upgrade to 32gb of ram if you are at 16gb. But that's probably all you need to do if you have a decent CPU and GPU. That's all I did. And I have a intel 13700hx and a 4060 laptop. Runs pretty smooth.
There is a freefly coming up on the 22nd. You can try the game out without buying it and see if it handles ok. Just know the server performance will NOT be good. And the first launch WILL be rough. Once the shaders finish it'll smooth out but if you don't get good frames right away, don't worry. Lots of tips and tricks to get performance.
Well, as far as the birds thing, it would be perfectly correct if the same species were on multiple worlds. English sparrows hitched a ride on some cargo ships and made their way to America and are common here in Michigan. Though, I highly doubt those birds would do so well on a low atmosphere moon, especially when it's -137C (-202F). I don't see that working. Actually, that's something CIG needs to work on into world building. Seeing NPC's doing guard duty in -30c weather while wearing light clothing is pretty glaring.
I haven't seen anything on bounty hunting recently. It wasn't mentioned as CitizenCon like it was last year. Do they still have plans of overhauling bounty hunting for 4.0, or even 1.0?

Imagine if animals could stow away on ships in the Star citizen universe. Then we wouldn’t have just invasive species between continents, but between planets
Love the look and feel of Bloom, its a shame that its in Pyro. I like to keep to myself from time to time, so I guess if we could get gravity generators for our base then Yela might suffice for me
How much server FPS are in these builds? From what I understand they still have one server per solar system. I hope we get at least 2-3 server per system when 4.0 goes live
4.0 at launch is going to be a shallow, hollow experience with everything that was going to make 4.0 great, delayed. Sure the pyro system is massive and cool, but i think the comminity at large wants more to do than explore planets with little to do or repeats of things found on every other planet. Server meshing and jump points are about the only cool things coming with 4.0
Server meshing and pyro isn't delayed and those are 2 things what matter most. least for me. life support, engineering etc don't even care about those. plus i rather take less than totally broken whole system

Something about the pyro terrain doesn't look right when you're high. Odd mountain shapes weird smooth ground and boulders on crazy slopes defying gravity.
This game is looking stupid good. I cant wait till they drop mission content for it. Not the loops they have but progressive missions. Other than that this game is coming out great.
Pyro is very pretty but probably not a good spot for a base unless you're willing to do a lot of PvP to keep it, benefit of a Pyro base is not paying the UEE for security, downside is no UEE security.

You need to fly around ADIR (moon around Pyro V) and see the sunrise/sunset from above the moon if you want some screenshots.

A ship with a med bed is definitely an advantage for exploring, when phantom holes through the fabric of time and space are a constant threat.

Ngl I was expecting necromorphs to pop out of the walls at any moment in some of these locations.
Yeah I've had the MFD tooltips stick on so many times in 4.0 and have to bedlog/Alt-F4 and crash recover to get rid of it.
