- Sagun is a Newari tradition. It consists of bara (lentils pancakes), choila (chicken), tareko anda (pan fried eggs) and tareko mocha (dried fishes). Hope you enjoy the video!
Chicken choila
400 gram chicken breast
½ tsp black pepper
Salt (as per taste)
1 tsp red chili powder
1 tsp cumin powder
1 tbsp mustard oil to marinate
2 medium onions
1 cup spring onion
1 large tomato
5-6 garlic cloves
1-2 inch ginger chopped
2 dried red chili
3-4 green chilies
1 tbsp mustard oil to fry
½ lemon
1 tbsp fenugreek seeds
1 tsp turmeric powder
Fried Fish
8 Dried fishes
1 tbsp vegetable oil
Salt if needed (as per your taste)
Fried Eggs
8 eggs
Water
½ tsp salt
Vegetable oil to fry
Bara
2 cups black lentils (soaked overnight)
Salt (as per taste)
1 tbsp cumin powder
1 tbsp ginger/garlic paste
1 tsp Asafoetida powder (hing)
1 cup coriander
Vegetable Oil

Well, Bara & Woh are not samething. Making bara & Woh are not same WAY EITHER. Woh is not made same way like selroti frying but Woh is made in pan with little oil. Sogah is very Nice ritual of the Newars. We do it many occassions for instance, congratulating people who succeed in anything like exams, giving farewell to people travel faraway, any big ceremonies and rituals.

Bara and Woh are two different things. Bara is fried as selroti in oil but Newar Woh is fried on pan with very little oil. Newar woh does NOT have any hole in center. Have this chef ever eaten any real Newar woh at all ??? What NONSENSE is she explaining? I feel ashamed.
