    If i can make a suggestion. First let me start by saying, i love your vision and creative planning. However, in execution, you could take a shot of her dress with no hands in front (a plate) and then pose her hands closely, but not obsess with the position, which can be easily adjusted in post with Puppet warp, among other techniques to get the final positioning. The plate offering you the easily fill if you need to move arms/hands.

    I wonder if having her hold a round pillow to pose the hands would help. Then they could pull the pillow out just before taking the shot.

      You could always use a placeholder and photoshop it out, cover it, or remove it before the snap. Certainly a technique.

    • @proedututorials

      Harry Gilliland yes exactly. Also because she’s protecting the highlights because she can bring back the exposure in post with her RAW workflow.

    • @Drinckx2
      @Drinckx2 4 роки тому

      @@canturgan Yes, a bit extreme on the 'preserving highlights' idea. What about preserving shadow detail? If you have to bring details out of those dark depths you exaggerate noise. Maybe the screen deceives us but that looks 2 stops under.
      I know that sometimes, if mimicking a painting that has a tenebrous quality, one might want to creatively use underexposure. In this instance however, I'd suggest preserving highlights and shadows.
      Also, with that large umbrella with the diffuser, that diffusion - the lighting quality - is keeping tight control of the highlights. It might be more of an issue with a more specular light source.

      You wanted them to bring a live flamingo to a photoshoot and have it try to be well behaved enough to get a shot? I would understand if this was a high budget shoot for an ad, but for a tutorial that sounds absolutely ridiculous.

      Well, I can see that you don't know what you're talking about.
      A flamingo is pretty big and heavy. And after all, it's an animal, it's unpredictable, you can't put the model in danger. Also you can't put the flamingo in danger. The photo studio it's not his natural environment so it would be really difficult to work with it.
      Also, you can't get a perfect light scheme to lit the girl and the flamingo just the way it would lit them as separate pictures.
      Those are the reason why the photographer didn't use a real flamingo.

    What is this about? This seems more like a product photography photoshoot, but the subject is a girl.. Please don't direct children if you don't know how to work with them..
    I think there is so much potential on creating with young humans, but you have to let them flouring and express. The unpredictable spontaneity will not vanish the creative workflow of the artist, let things fall out of control sometimes... Wabi-Sabi..

    • @stefanvidinaru2346
      @stefanvidinaru2346 4 роки тому +6

      Fine art photography is really different than other types of photography.
      You're creating a masterpiece, everything has to be just as the artist imagines it.

    • @c_m_h5858
      @c_m_h5858 4 роки тому

      Well, fine art photography is many things. But when you study art, there are certain things that you learn, ethics and moral in art making. When your subject is a child, and the child doesn't know what money is, and you are using them in exchange for money. (I am really against child modelling btw, in comercial situations) , which this at least has ended up being (a youtube video)
      And this is not challenging any topic, and the project only aims for beauty and perfection. I don't think that is fine art photography. Can you explain me what's the meaning of the final photograph?
      If you are using children to create art and your aim is to make people thing about life struggles, or you create a narrative based on something deep about love, or human relationships! Yes! That makes sense to me, we are already bombarded with empty imagery, why do we want more beautiful emptiness? And well, when there is value/money in between. That doesn't sound right to me.
