RIP David McCallum 😢 Ducky was a delight on NCIS, still one of my favourite shows. His historical knowledge was always insightful. He will be missed, sending my condolences to his family and friends.
I didn't know or realize that he was also a musician. In the 1960s, McCallum recorded four albums for Capitol Records with music producer David Axelrod: Music...A Part of Me (Capitol ST 2432, 1966), Music...A Bit More of Me (Capitol ST 2498, 1966), Music...It's Happening Now! (Capitol ST 2651, 1967), and McCallum (Capitol ST 2748, 1968). The best known of his pieces today is "The Edge", which was sampled by Dr. Dre as the intro and riff to the track "The Next Episode". McCallum's version of "The Edge" appears on the soundtracks to the 2008 video game Grand Theft Auto IV and the 2017 film Baby Driver. He was truly a legendary performer in so many different ways and styles. He will be missed by all. As you said so correctly, few were able to do it better. This man is One of a Kind!
You’ll be missed, Ducky. Thank you David McCallum for giving us such a beloved character and for being a charismatic person all these years. We’ll miss you but forever remember you.
I’ve known David for over 50 years and talked to his son and apparently passed away in his sleep last night. He was a really nice guy and absolutely loved his wife and kids who are all very nice people
He was my favourite on that show NCIS. When I first saw him on the show, I couldn’t believe how good he looked for his age, and he just kept on going and going and going.. Good genes I suppose. Glad to know he was a nice individual, and an intellectual and talented one at that. Condolences to the entire family, this man will actually be very missed by all, including his fans. RIP.❤️
No doubt David also took care of himself when he was younger. I'm glad I got to meet him 2x in Atlanta. He was so kind and friendly! So much multi-talent in that man!
That was made in 1958? That's a great Memory for me,David was around for awhile before Man from Uncle. He was a fine actor and 90 is a Fine innings. RIP. 🇬🇧🕰Is Robert Vaughan still around?
Spot on with the film release date, Bruce. 'A Night To Remember' was a brilliant film incidentally, much better than Cameron's 'Titanic'. Sadly we lost Robert Vaughn a few years ago - thought he was a terrific actor too, perhaps my favourite role of his being in an episode of 'Columbo'. @@brucekilby9957
As a schoolboy in the 60's I was a fan of David McCallum and Robert Vaughan, and as I continued to see Mr. McCallum performing later in life it was always touching, not just for nostalgia, but also for his good character. Rest in peace.
@@jillfever3028I never saw those particular shows. Thank you for naming them. Now I can go back an check if and where I might be able to watch them. I know he was brilliant in NCIS. There never will be anyone to replace that man. Rest In Peace David McCallum, there will never be another Donald Mallard or has friends like to call him "Ducky". Thank you for many years of good times, laughter and love. 🙏❤
David McCallum’s Doctor Donald Ducky Mallard was and always will be a favorite NCIS character among fans of the show. Such a gifted and talented man and actor. Thank you for all the wonderful memories David McCallum. Rest In Peace Ducky.
Rest in peace Ducky! Thank you for sharing your talent with the world. NCIS going forward won't be the same. But I'm so glad I have the re-runs so we can watch you for years to come.
It made me sad to hear that this noble actor has passed away. I grew up watching his spy-like "The Man from U.N.C.L.E" films. With his unique acting stance he soon garnered fans throughout the world. R.I.P. Mr. McCallum!! 😔
Haven't watched NCIS since Tony and Ziva left but loved the character, Dr. Malarde. Mr. McCullum was a stellar actor and a tremendous delight to watch in this role and loved his Kiriachin in Man from U.N.C.L.E. I am glad he had a long life and pray he and his loved ones are in peace.
I loved him when I was a teenager Had the pleasure of meeting him some years ago What a lovely men stood talking to my partner and myself nothing was a problem What a gentleman
I remember him on The Man From U.N.C.L.E. When he appeared on NCIS, I was delighted! Rest well, sir, knowing you’ve given many generations of us untold hours of delight watching you on the “telly.”
RIP David, I was always a huge fan. He was such a great role model for getting older and still being strong and working. So incredible. I've been watching him since the 60's. You done good, McCallum!
I have watched you since I was @ 10, in the Man From Uncle along on other things but much enjoyed your time with the NCIS Team. God Rest your Soul. You will be missed.E B L
I can remember the first few seasons of NCIS with Ducky, Abby, and the close knit group. They were always so close and always seemed to have each other's backs. Every character was special. The early episodes were my favorites. So much so I bought the first 10 seasons on DVD. But the one person who ALWAYS seemed to know and be there for everyone was Ducky. His character was very special. The pathology or autopsy physican from CSI had a similar "friendship" with the main character. In NCIS it was Jethro Gibbs, in CSI it was Gil Grissom. Both of them were very close to the people they worked with and that really helped "sell" the character's persona. By that I mean both of the doctors who performed the autopsies, collected evidentiary materials, were not only tops at their jobs, but they were also extremely helpful and great people. You loved their characters. You knew that they'd always find what was needed, OR they'd do anything that they could to help. They were always a pleasure to watch work. 🙏🕊🙏🕊🙏RIP David McCallum🙏🕊🙏🕊🙏 Prayers for his family and friends. He truly is a legendary actor and an even better man. God Bless you and his family and friends. He will never ever be forgotten.
Dear Mr. McCallum was an integral part of my childhood. Seeing him every week as our dear Ducky made my made my brighter. Thank you for everything Mr McCallum.

He also had a short-lived series in the 70’s called The Invisible Man and he did a T.V. special in the 90’s on popular conspiracy theories of the day (like December 21, 2012 and such). David also came from a musical family- his father played the violin, his mother played the cello. David played the oboe. He was also once married to Jill Ireland (they divorced in 1967 and she then married Charles Bronson). He was also one of the last surviving cast members of The Great Escape. Rest In Peace and Power David.😭
