    Thank you for the video. We're considering seasonal, part-time work when we retire in a few years and working in an RV park would be right up our alley. However, it does seem odd that you have to pay KOA to use their employment site. I guess they figure those who pay are a more likely fit for the positions.

    • @RVIntoRetirement
      @RVIntoRetirement  Рік тому +14

      I think that was our initial thought too about paying for the site - however, the benefits you get from it far outweigh the cost. Consider it investing in your education with KOA University, the ability to have KOA management search for you and honestly one Travel certificate to your next assignment pays for the membership. Also consider RV Park prices have gone up quite a bit with the new supply and getting a site for $125 to $250/mo including electric - it takes us about 12 hours work each to cover our site all the rest is income - we haven't had to touch any savings!

    My mother and I on the way home from Mount Rushmore. We stayed at the KOA in Sheridan Wyoming. It was just starting to snow when we woke up and we were snowed in. I unhooked from my fifth wheel and pulled my truck forward when I woke up a big giant branch had fallen right in front of my truck, I pulled two more feet more taken out my truck but we had a good stay there. Got my mom. I got my mom some wine and we hung out watched movies when we finally had to go. My sides were covered in snow. I didn’t have a ladder and they help me at KOA to clear the snow off my slides so we can go on the road. It was a very nice day there. I enjoy your video about the KOA workmight be interested thank you again

    thanks for the great information - hope you can answer 3 questions for me 1) you mentioned in a subsequent comment that it is not tax free... how is the taxable amount calculated? The value of the campsite, minus the $250/month you pay? 2) the $55 to create an account... is that $55 per person or per couple; 3) Are there any requirements on the rig? 10 year rule? Do you have to submit a picture? Your video made me want to retire quickly and get on this!! Thank you, I plan to subscribe!

    Congrats on your retirement, my wife and I retired in July. Considering Workamping. Appreciate the KOA info. One question, have you come across positions that are available for less than six months or an entire season, maybe something for three months with KOA?

    • @RVIntoRetirement
      @RVIntoRetirement  Рік тому +1

      Congrats on your Retirement. And YES you can do shorter time frames, for example we are on a 90 day assignment right now. There are a couple of ways to go about this. First on workatkoa.com you can search for jobs that are 1 to 3 months but I don't recommend that, the other way is to search mid season or towards the end of a season - some people leave their jobs early and it creates an opening. You never know the situation and there are a lot of short term jobs listed. I like to think Everything is negotiable you just have to ask.

    • @RVIntoRetirement
      @RVIntoRetirement  10 місяців тому +1

      There are several ways to go as a single. Most maintenance positions are for single parties, national parks look a lot for singles too. Also negotiate with the park, even though this manager wanted couples she hired singles two year in a row. Also watch our new video called workcamping 101
