This is interesting this came up on my suggested videos today. My son and I are visiting Grand Forks, ND. A few days ago we drove over to Thief River Falls and saw Digi-Key. I've been keeping this place in the back of my mind for later. My son is not quite 18 so I can't bring him with me (I think Digi-key doesn't hire those under 18) if I worked there. Just arrived in Thief River Falls and cant wait to start work tomorrow. TY for the tip guys. We drove 1600 miles from Las Vegas and we made it safely but my poor truck didn't. The engine blew half way here :( and we had to abandon her in Wyoming. Anyone know if there is any kind of shuttle to Digi-key (its a long cold walk at night)?

So I need housing. I have 2 small older dogs. Suddenly (heart attack) widowed little over a year ago & left with some debts I want to get paid off. Do they have any housing options that might work for me until I can back into my camper?

For example, do they only hire work campers during the summer? We would want to work there for three months. Is that an acceptable timeframe?

You don’t have to be vaxxed or wear a mask. They pay for hotel or camping spot. I worked there for a little while, didn’t like it at all. It wasn’t terrible but the monotony and purposelessness of the job was absolutely soul sucking to me. Some people can work an uninspiring job like that I suppose but not I.
I will take to the road full time in an estimated 4 years and I am saving every penny as I speak because I am Dirt poor! however I do have that goal! With that said watching this inspirational video gives me 2 concerns and that is based on the fact that this job is such a good opportunity for work camping lifestyle! if it pays so well and offers so much to the individual I am just concerned with my lack of qualifications and only experience doing manual labor I'm wondering if A I am underqualified for digikey and b If this job will no longer be easily available by the time I get on the road in 4 years only being accessible to the return work campers that have seniority?
The only qualifications you need are a good work ethic and the ability to be on your feet all day. They train you for the job itself. Not sure how long this will be a workamping offering, but hopefully it will be around for quite some time!

How hard is this job on your feet? I'm one year removed from spending three decades working on the hard floors of grocery stores and my feet still hurt. I'm pretty sure I can handle the workload as a temporary job for three or four months, but my feet may have another opinion...

Monday through Friday. There are 3 shifts. We worked 5 am to 1:30 pm. Our pay for first shift was $18/hr. 2nd and 3rd shift get $20/hr. RV fhu site is included.

The training process is about 5 weeks, so I’m sure they want people who can commit to 3-5 months. I would suggest contacting Express Pros for a more definite answer on this one though.
At the time, they we not required if you were vaccinated. We are both vaccinated. I have heard that shortly after we left they went back to mandatory for everyone.
We discussed this information in other videos. We don’t repeat the same info over and over again. Watch the first video we did about this job. You will find all the answers to these questions. To repeat this information in every video would just be a waste of our time.

I work second shift. During training we were told no phones, cameras in the Bays. I am surprised they let you film.

So this is warehouse work but you stay in your rv? My idea of work camping is working at the actual campground. 2 totally different thing.

Campground is across the street. Express put me up in a Quality Inn which is 1/2 mile from Digikey.

Waive in a van with a dog…and the motels don’t accept dogs…at least that it what we are told.

ExpressPros pays up to $75/day from what I am told. If a pet friendly hotel charges beyond that, it is your responsibility to pay the difference.

We haven’t done any guard jobs in a while. Not because of any conflict, we just want to see other parts of the country.

If both parents are employed, they can work opposite shifts so someone is always with the minor children.
