Just heard this song for the first time. My daddy’s flag was killed in Vietnam in 1967, when I was 7 years old. I’m almost 65 now and I still cry for him and all he missed. The grandbabies and great grandbabies he never held. Thank you for remembering. RIP, all those who gave all. God Bless.

Oh My God!!! You and I have almost the same life. My dad was part of the Puerto Rican Infantry who fought in Vietnam. He was KIA in 1967. We lost our house and wound up living in an apartment in the Bronx.

I got to serve in Deutchland for four years. It was like coming home... And, you get to live in Garmisch! Awesome! I spent two summer holidays there. It is such a beautiful place. The mountains are right up against the town. And all the houses have boxes of red flowers hanging under their windows. Wishing you well. Let's cross our fingers that our "betters" do not start WW3. I don't need any more medals! And, I bet you don't either!
