I took the 5.1 camping recently, Chopped through a whole damn tree, made a baton, whittled some feather sticks, cut some rope, and then used it to clear brush doing some invasive species removal volunteering AND THIS BEAST HASN'T DULLED AT ALL. so comfortable so excellent.
I genuinely love this. There's many different companies that make fantastic products. But it's often difficult to know which of them would be the right one for you. There's a reason why there's thousands of reviews, comparisons and recommendations out there. And even if you watch all of them, you might still be undecisive about what to get. I think an important part of finding a knife that is right for you is... having used some knives that aren't right for you. But it helps to get some clues beforehand. And so far I've seen no other company taking their time like this to help their potential customers choose a knife for themselves. While watching it, I was thinking to myself that it would be nice to get a direct comparison between these. And you even thought of adding a comparison table at the end. I think that it would be nice to have one fully in-depth guide showing every single knife on offer at some point. With quick rundowns on their ideal purpose. But buying one of these knives isn't a decision I must personally take now; but rather in the future. So I'm happy to know that there's a video I can always come back to. ...which will actually be very easy because it was actually added to a dedicated playlist on the channel. Great work here! Greetings from Germany.
Thank you! We don't work with resellers so most folks don't have the opportunity to hold one of our knives before purchasing. For a lot of people our knives are a big investment so we want to help everyone get exactly what they are looking for. I am glad this video is helping to achieve that. - Ellie
No, that is a one off sample material that we had received a few years ago. We had forgotten about it but it resurfaced during the move. It is linen but put together in a neat design instead of the usual layers.
It would depend on where you are at in line for the GSO-5.1. Because of it's notoriety, there are a lot more orders for the GSO-5.1 so swapping may speed up delivery for you. Send us an email and Tyler will get you squared away. info@surviveknives.com.
We have a bunch of blades heading to finishing steps right now with handles already machined and sheaths in stock. Those will start shipping out within the next couple of weeks.
I call BS it may take a minute but they have delivered us alot of knives over the years. Remember quality is remember long after the cost is forgotten. Now that they have control over source make deliver, we are all seeing the deliveries picking up.
SURVIVE is oddly slow but they appear honorable, its just a difficult wait for most and hopefully they can iron out the commitments to their customers as to being able to give real delivery times; until then if you have the patients I hear they are worth it. My only issue is needing a tool within a calendar date and not receiving the knife within what we consider a reasonable amount of time. To be fare, they have had a lot of business mishaps, issues and a death in the family. They do appear to be rectifying these problems. They are also a very small company that appears to be growing faster than they can deliver on.
I ordered four knives and have received one so far. Two were ordered a year ago and one 4 months ago. I have a 5.1 in 3v and one in magnacut. Both hold edge very nicely. Worth the wait for the price for me.

We are so glad you're happy with it!
Those handles on the 5.5 are sick. Seriously I like those. Bad ass.
Can't wait to see a side by side comparison that includes the GSO 4.5 Bushcraft and Standard knives, especially the MAGNACUT.
We will work on getting that done too
Thanks for the comparison!

Awesome vid! thanks so much for clarifying.... But now I want one of each to try out...high quality problem.
Great comparison video. I have GSO 5.1 on order still like that knife and look forward to getting it. Keep up the great work. GOD Bless.
5.3 my pick
Does that 5.5 have the standard black canvas? It almost looks like a topo pattern… which I would very much approve of

Nice options . I think I’ll stick with the 5.1 Beast .
I ordered a GSO 5.1 back in April. If i decided to swap it for a GSO 5.3 would it delay my order or speed it up. At this point I'll take either knife.

Hey that Jade G10 is mine! Send her home 😂
When will the replacement Magnacut GSO 5.1s be shipped?

Sou do Brazil e gostaria muito de compra uma faca de vocês... enviam para o Brazil?
Si! We ship anywhere DHL is able to deliver.
But you're not making any 5.1s so why the comparison?
We have GSO-5.1 blades all over the workshop right now at different stages of production.
I like them.
Lies, lies, lies, .... he just wants to steal your money.
We sent you a refund 4 months ago.

@@Surviveknives I had to email Guy's family church. Found via an obituary...real easy to communicate.
