Yes, you can choose to remove 2023 and it will not affect version 2024. I generally keep the previous version on my computer for a couple months after updating v2024 in case I have any loose end projects used in 2023. @@iamSamOfficial
I had a very strange problem with Adobe Premiere Pro version 23 on Windows. My export quality was consistently not as great compared to the same settings on a Mac. On the Mac, the quality and bit rate were fixed, but on Windows, regardless of whether I used CBR or VBR settings, it always dropped to a low bit rate, which messed up the final export. Another issue was that the export was completed, but the final result was blank, especially on Mac. So, I decided to switch to DaVinci Resolve, and I'm glad I did. Now, let's try v24, and I hope they've fixed these issues.
I had that same feeling for a while on switching until I had no choice but to do it ..and let’s just say it was a breath of fresh air!! My best analogy for it would be getting into a new relationship that opened your eyes to a realization that your last relationship was an abusive one. Do it! You won’t regret it.

Try to go to the effect controls panel, down and right and change the filter from "show all properties" to "show only selected properties". In my case the difference is immediately noticeable from scrubbing, to move clips etc.
Tip for shooting content that needs to be delivered in both horizontal and vertical. Shoot everything a bit wider than usual and then crop separately in post for both aspect ratios. Works great with most decent 4k video cameras, even better with an open gate 3:2 camera like a Lumix S5iix

I’ve never thought about clearing the cache before updating PP, so I’m wondering if you could expand on the imperatives of that step specifically. Also asking because Ive never had a problem using an old project in a new version of premiere. It’s only when I use an older version of PP than what I initially started the project on, that I have had problems. Thanks in advance!
I've been using PR for years. When will it be free like CAPCUT, all the updates now that are comiing are in other software for free..This other packages dont kill my old PC
While Capcut is good for some social video editing, but I find for more professional work it can get tricky because some of the effects retime the footage. Capcut is made by TikTok.
I started using the 2024 version and sadly for me it got way worse than the previous one I was using (23.5). In a big project the lag was so big that I had to go back to the old version to finish. Then in the old version everything is fine again.
Sadly, Premiere v24 will not load on my fast PC. I use PP frequently and I had to roll back to v23. I spent a few hours uninstalling/debugging with no joy.
Sorry, I'm still sticking with DaVinci Resolve... nothing Adobe does will convince me to go back... And not to mention the abuse of the subscription...

It is amazing and frustrating that the Adobe team (1) was fully aware the Premiere Pro responsiveness was horribly sluggish and (2) it took so damn long to fix.
None of the new features matter if the Premiere is unstable. I was able to make Premiere version 24.0 crash in a few seconds after starting to use it on an existing project.
Thanks for the preview. When upgrading to the new version of Premiere, do you lose all presets, plugins, etc from the previous version? That has been a problem for me in the past.

Does anyone ever actually finish all of their projects? 😂😂😂 We have so many that are always in progress. 24 is significantly faster. It can almost keep up with me, which was ironically my biggest complaint in previous versions.

Well, the best update for me and many others would be the crash update. It is germane for Premiere Pro to always consider the fact that our projects canrbe toyed with. One strong reason many user switched to Davinci Resolve few years ago. In addition, Generative Fill like that of Photoshop should be imbibed in Premiere Pro. Yes appreciated the voice enhancer. And there is noise reduction for other sound. Saves me going back and forth to Audition. NOT Appreciated is the cheezy attempt to sell (I"m already paying $$/month) licensed music. Its nice to have to music play and watch the video at the same time. How about this? Let us attach our own libraries of royalty-free music so we can more easily match music to the video.

Finally they solved the super slow timeline zoom in/out and scrub. Been using Davinci for 6 months and everytime I needed to use Premiere, the laggy timeline was so anoying.
Adobe Premiere 2024 has bugs. They are mainly associated with the Program Monitor window 1) It is not possible to select several mask points at once in the Program Monitor window using a rectangular selection with the mouse. 2) In the Program Monitor window, when you change the transformation Scale, Position, Rotation, Anchor point... with the mouse, the movements lag a lot and slow down, which is very annoying. 3) Key frames on the Adjustment Layer do not work and animation does not occur. The animation takes on the static value of one of the keyframes. This is especially true with third-party plugins.
Can you please help us by informing adobe premiere team to develop a easy way to move the program screen view with the middle wheel of the mouse (like vinci resolve does) when it is zoomed in to the higher lavel while creating anchor point for masking/tracking? Anyone else been having export issues since the update? I've been having issues where a popup says there's a rendering issue, and then I'm unable to playback the video unless I restart the program, or if it even gets to exporting, it stops at 4%...the only fix I've found so far is by switching off the encoding H.264 option in Preferences. And then, in Project Setting I switch the encoding from GPU to Software Only, but then the export is SO much slower, like I'm talking going from less than a minute of export to now 10-15 mins. I have a RTX 2060 Super GPU btw

Hahahahah finish the project before you update 😂🤣😂🤣 That said it does seem faster. I use a lot of morph cuts when I’m editing interviews 🤫🤫😬 and they seem significantly smoother and mich harder to spot. I think thanks to all the advanced AI fill work they are working on. But no one really ever mentions the morph dissolve.
I can’t install the update because because it requires the latest version of windows to install. My computer has the last update for windows 10 but Adobe support says I need to install windows 11, however, my computer won’t run windows 11 so I guess I’m stuck.

Can't use 3 different medias (videos, audio or pictures). When i use 2 different medias everything is fine, but when i'm adding 1 more media Premiere Pro doesn't work smooth anymore. God awful for longform tv series. Crashes, buggy, very slow to index media. Not impressed. Which is a great pity. Still no Source monitor record option, still can't move the transition point of a 1 frame edit. These are basic edit tols we get with other edit platforms. Come on Adobe, get it sorted.
It auto updated on me so I didn't have the chance to clear cache files and it converted the project files. Every thing I do now requires my timeline to be rendered and it is so frustrating. I'm using proxy files and before this my timeline was yellow and manageable at least.

Yes, when possible shooting wider is great, but if you have a small space gen fill can help.

Unfortunately, version 24.0 is not much more stable than earlier versions.

I'd love to update but would have to buy a new computer. PP 24.0 is incompatible and are some other Adobe products that I use.

I can't wait for to enhance voice its not stable in premiere pro beta its taking so much time its still in beta but I really want that soon

Can't wait to see the Filler Words and Enhanced Speach tools! Those two alone will be so powerful :)
It's so unstable, it's shocking how they think releasing it in it's state is okay.
