ABOUT TUTORIAL
Adobe Premiere Pro is getting new updates more often now! When a new update is released, I do a deep dive into what changes have been made and also offer my thoughts on what can be improved. In this video we look at new text style presets for captions, graphics and subtitles, plus improvements to labels and marker workflow. Text to Speech also gets a 15% increase. We also take a look at the future of Premiere Pro in the beta.

Adobe just announced a sneak of the new generative AI tools coming to Pr, I made a short about it here: ua-cam.com/users/shortspfJ_-Xf850U
Is there any final update, when this feature will be come to us?
@@saqlainahmed7172 this is just a sneak, they didn't tell me any exact dates on when it is available, but first it will need to come to Beta
@@PremiereGal okay. Thanks
Hey Gal, Can I say something...!! Please allow me to say
Did you see a second channel named premier basics I know you know..
So, if I am telling from my side I honestly wish to watch your videos as compared to him. Because they are making so much over faces and reactions in his video instead of telling us something new or creative.
So, after analyzing both channels I finally select your channel and going to unsub him.
I wish you are not doing the same like him and providing us the valuable content in simple and straightforward way.
Thanks for your content and please remember me for next time...!!
have a nice day bbyyeeee
@@DigitalAnki kissass
Always great information for us to keep up with all the changes, thank you so much!
Always useful, thanks Gal.
Thanks, Kelsey. Very well done as always. You are the best!
You are my go-to channel when I'm trying to keep up with all the new features of this crazy software. Thank you for keeping us all up to speed!
Everything is perfect in your video ❤️
Im in love...with the update, and well, you
Very educational and incredibly insightful. 😀
These updates are so hot, I had to edit my fire extinguisher into the video! 🔥 Seriously though, Kelsey, your breakdown of Premiere Pro v24.3 is pure editing wizardry. My captions are about to be more stylish than my wardrobe! 🧙♀💻✨
great information. I appreciate this video is quick simple and useful thanks for share.
Glad it was helpful!
Tips and tricks. My respects!
Great features, but as an audio guy, I would love to be able to export and import an audio mixer "scene" instead of making a template sequence to import to a project. Ooo cross fade like Audition is coming? Loving that!
THANKS for pointing out the marker panel changes! 🙌 I wouldn’t have thought to check the menu and I’ve always loved working with the markers panel. Marker shortcuts is something I’ve embraced so one decent way to delete markers from the panel is click the marker then opt+m ⌨ to delete (or whatever your shortcut is). Or cmd+opt+M ⌨ to delete all from either selected source(s), sequence or all depending on the active panel/clips. I don’t know when they fixed this, but it’s now back that you can overlap markers 🎉 - there for a while it would always just open the marker edit dialogue if trying to add another marker over a range marker. NICE VIDEO!
Another thing that doesn't seem to be mentioned in the comments is you can also shift select markers in the markers panel and hit delete :)
I agree with all your marker requests. Also, I would LOVE more marker colors
Awesome, ya I think more custom marker choices will be great, but first just more control over the markers in the panel, like hiding markers/deleting will be cool
@@PremiereGal yes! deleting markers from the markers panel is a definite NEED. It is so counterintuitive that it isn't possible to do at the moment. makes markers workflow feel clunky.
Definitely waiting for the audio fade change to come to Premiere, after trying it in the Beta!! Subtle but a major time saver.
how are you keeping your premiere exports from washing the colors out? are their any updates other than the over contrasty lut on export in 2024?
Is there a way of repositioning all the captions at once to the preferred position? I've been doing each one manually to date. Great video BTW. Cheers!
The Audio Fading in the beta looks interesting. I just did a mixing session with Pro Tools where the sound mixer was simply dragging the sides of the clips to add fades and using the scroll wheel to adjust the fade curves. Something like that would save so much time for audio editing!
it now has this in the same way I've been using it this week it's great! you can also drag across clips to create a crossfade instantly, plus shift the fade's slope exponentially exactly how you want :)
Do i need to train the transcription in PR 2024? I keep getting the wrong words transcribed, like themes for teams to give an example.
I hope in Adobe’s AI future they are able to implement some of the instantaneous rotoscoping features similar to resolve for effortless DOF and maybe some exciting new transitions and effects. I really love the AI features announced for premieres future, but what CapCut is doing right now with really creative transitions and effects is just kicking everyone’s ass in the “Professional” field of editing. Admittedly some are corny, but at least 80% are very usable and save me from opening after effects to create something visually dynamic.
I use the Markers a lot - both on the sequence and on individual clips. The delete marker function could be improved - it’d be good if they had something like in AVID where you can delete markers without opening them first, and also having the option to delete markers between IN and OUT points. Would love that
Will this work for transcribing song lyrics from music? I'm going to have to try that. It would help with making lyric videos.
Hello Premiere Gal. My name is Brian Leggett. I've been a fan of your tutorial videos for years now. They are awesome. I have a question. Do you remember a program you introduced years ago called Motion Tween? I bought it years ago and I happen to still own this program and I used it years ago on a past video project. I'm curious about something. Will that particular program still work in Premiere Pro CC 2024? I recently had to upgrade from CS6 to CC 2024. But I still want to know if Motion Tween will work with PP CC 2024. Please let me know. Thank you.
you always shock me by new thing about premiere. You are the best GAL of the world 🥰😍🤩😘
I don't know who puts in the physical humor edits but those little add-ins are LOL funny! The one where you said, oh that's a wonderful still and they exaggerated the still photo, I broke out laughing. 😂
hahahha yep!
Great video, like you said, I just wish there were animations for captions!
There are probably not any Final Cut Pro users here but it would be really cool for the toolkit to come over there (but that would probably involve having to build everything from the ground up in Apple Motion. I just wish I used Premiere Pro because the Toolkit looks such great value with tons of high quality elements.
Or swap to Pr 😜
@@johnstirzaker6281 I would but it's very expensive and more laggy😅
Hey are you all on MacOS Sonoma? I'm still on 24.3 in Ventura and it's hardly working correctly. Even proxies are not scrubbing. This is madness!
Hey, thank you for sharing! Btw. regarding markers, there is already a shortcut for deleting individual or all markers, so you don't have to double click on a marker and click delete.
True! However having the delete in the panel just makes sense, right? 😅
@@PremiereGal Hehe, yea it would definitely be a nice addition :)
Great video. Is there another tutorial that I can find to learn how to make the text light up like at the beginning of the video?
Light up?
@@PremiereGal Yes, there's some sort of animation with the caption that follows each word you're saying. Sorry if I'm not using the right words to describe it.
finally I was getting tired of re-doing my caption styles!
👏👏👏
So exciting both for this update and the 2025 version. Great video Thanks! 😊
Will be very usefull non copy and paste markers!
I can't wait for many more languages in speech-to-text.
One thing I DO NOT like about the new beta is the disappearance of the Essential Graphics panel. Now, to edit a mogrt you have to go to the effects panel and it's still very clunky.
Hi! After update my labels change colors. How to set to default old style labels?
did you updatw to 24.4.1? 24.4 is different and actyally changed the entire color palette
I don't get what's new about the markers, I've been using these features ever since. Also yes you can delete the marker from the marker panel, just highlight the marker by clicking it in the panel and hit delete.
Nice! Sometimes we forget the obvious. I've been deleting with opt+m, which is good to remember for clearing markers outside of the panel but didn't try just hitting delete in the panel before. I haven't checked out the markers panel menu in a long time so I appreciated the callout cause the toggle for "ignore selection in timeline" will come in handy at times for me.
Great video as always!
Oy! That aint good. I think we tested Swedish once and it was about a 7/10 -- definitely room for improvement. Have you tried any other ai transcription for those languages that work better?
@@PremiereGal Yup, my colleague gave up on Premiere and tried ScriptMe, which works much better, even on swedish dialects. Så I guess I'm a little bit dissappointed with Premiere when it comes to this.
It's mind-blowing how this programme is developing
tuto for v24.4 PLEASE!!!
They removed the keyframe button in the clip, where did it go????
Making timing edits after text editing is painfully slow. Used on a m3 MacBook and regretted it. First was great but the edit was super slow everytime I need to tweak timings.
I always have this issue on marker management, like how do I select markers by dragging a box around a group of them instead of selecting one by one, and how do I select all markers. Any tips?
Markers panel for sure. You can use command (Mac) or control (Win) + A ⌨ in the panel to select all. Using the panel options menu @PremiereGal showed, you can choose to show all / sequence / or clip markers and 'Ignore Selection in Timeline' option to manage what Select All would actually select all of.
I really love all of the upcoming updates, especially ones in beta. I really with Adobe would make improvements in the color grading and exporting experience. My colors shift quiet alot in the preview panel when I edit--typically a magenta & green shift with every play and pause. The ability to export without the need of a conversion lut is really needed. I'm not sure if you or your editors experience any of this @PremiereGal but it's still a problem for me on the daily. With all the advancements that DaVinci Resolve has made in their software this year, the move is feeling more appealing.
We have a gamma correction LUT on all our exports.
It’s 2024 the fact that premier has not fixed the color issue when export blows my mind. Even when I use the Lut on export it’s still not the same color I graded.
@@seahawker791 that's exactly how I and I'm sure many others feel. I shouldn't *have* to use a gamma correction LUT when I export. I'm tired of the gamma shifts while I edit, making it hard to tell what my export is truly going to look like. The color grading should be Adobe's next big push because it's crucial for any project and what DaVinci does best, drawing users away from Premiere. It's frustrating that the color grading process has had the most incremental progress. Throw in advanced masking and Premiere is really back to being the more compelling choice.
Hello, I couldn't find anywhere to post this. I have some feedback on the toolkit (Premiere Pro) about the social media call-to-action. I am a small Twitch streamer and amateur editor. The "universal" tab includes like, dislike, and notification bell icons. The notification bell is almost exclusively for UA-cam. As a user, you can only add one image and can't add a logo or social media platform. I would love to see each icon individually so I can add or delete them.
Can you tell them to fix the mask tool lol they’ll listen to you. 😂
They are improving some masking with their announcement of the new Gen Ai coming to Pr, I posted a short about it yesterday here on the channel.
I'd prefer more customized labels, just like with audio. It would be great if Premiere could automatically recognize the type of image and apply labels accordingly
YAY!
informative content
Love your comments! 😀
About Markers: Premiere should allow you to add Markers without stopping playback of what you're seeing, because this allows you to describe what you see or hear in real time. In Avid it is possible and that makes a big difference between using one software or another. It is a necessary update that I am still waiting for, the world of Reality Shows awaits it.
You can add markers in real time! 🙌When adding markers the playback doesn't stop. This is great for marking music beats! If you want to add names and comments to makers in real time the Markers panel is essential. While the video is still playing you can type in the markers panel. I do this all the time as initial steps to cutting an interview. You can also opt+click (Mac) the marker on the timeline to convert to a range marker then drag it across the timeline still while the video is playing (or drag the out: timecode in the markers panel to give you the range handles). In fact I found that if the video is stopped when doing this, the CTI will jump back to the marker. So if I want to avoid jumping back and the video is stopped, I'll hit play then opt+click the marker, then pause just to avoid jumping back from where I am.
You can delete markers in the panel using CTRL-ALT-M (or OPT-M on Mac).
Yes, but having the control of checking them off, hiding and deleting in the panel is ideal.
@@PremiereGal You can delete them, just hit delete in the panel, or shift select them all or partially and delete them, at least on mac. Now, checking off would be useful, agreed! We just have an agreed upon marker color for that as a work around, so white in our case means "checked off."
There are no Arabic Transcription.
Is there any update on the arabic transcription?
Please make a video on how you edit your video exactly
And yet still no performance updated and bug fixes :/
what a beautiful voice!
I love PP for long form edits. but CapCut kills PP for short form content
I think it depends on what type of short, but I agree the built-in caption presets on Capcut are great!
100% agreed on markers! Let us delete from the marker window please!
they do, just select and hit delete, or you can even shift select all the markers in the panel, and hit delete :)
@@VoyagerGuru oohh awesome thank you!
When will there be more languages in the text-to-speech :(
I know...I hope these get more in there by fall! 🎉
One more new improvement I kept asking Adobe for it !. It is about unifying the timeline of effects keyframes and the main timeline. No need to switch between two timelines. Make it like After effects please.
I think the problem with this is that inherently Ae and Pr are two distinct apps. If you like Ae's motion controls, you can edit in Ae, I know some people who do edit their entire video in Ae, it is possible - granted its not great for huge timelines, but it is possible. 😅
@@PremiereGal Agree . Thanks 😊
I would love to see color tagging assets in the project. Example I was working with a teammate on a project and we were going thru a bunch of images and it would have been useful to be able to mark the image one used so that the other at a glance can see was already used. If I am missing something please set me straight haha thanks all
Do you mean showing the label colors in icon view (they do show in list view)? Cause you're right that would be useful!! You can sort by colored labels, which groups the same colors together even though the colors are unseen, but would be nice if you could see them. One thing that came to mind reading your comment was the video/audio usage indicators. You can see the indicator in icon view or in a column for list view if an asset is in a sequence or not. One thing I often do is sort by video usage to quickly see and group what hasn't been used.
I'm an avid user of Premiere Pro. I must say I'm really disappointed in their development. While AI tools are developing mind-blowing features and functionality, Premiere Pro is crawling along with improvements on "labels", really?
Premiere Pro just announced new mind blowing ai features coming soon, and these are just routine updates from 24.3. These updates pretty much happen once every 2 months, as you see I make update videos quite often now bc there are lots of new updates, while the style preset updates are once step forward, more is developing under the hood right now. And in terms of the program itself, it still does a great job, I love it, the stability of the program itself is SIGNIFICANTLY better than a few years ago.
So what AI feature would you like to see?
Lumetri is embarrassing
Keyframing is clunky and relies on the awkward effects panel
The UI thankfully doesn’t turn into a slideshow on windows anymore when you move a panel, but the UI itself is…uhh feels about as dated as Lightroom Classic eh?
@@The_CGALol well, I agree masking and keyframing can get clunky.
@@PremiereGal But still WAAAAY better than Avid.
1.More shortcuts for markers instead of having to click/double click things.
2. Definitely new colours for markers and maybe a better looking icon (eg. Resolve or FCPX) - just for aesthetics.
3. Remove options for marker types that are redundant - basically de-clutter the marker window.
4. Toggle SHOW/HIDE for panels/windows. For eg. Pressing Shift+6 opens the Essential Sound panel. But if I need to close it, I have to do that manually.
5. Please fix basic performance issues.
I like the idea of a new icon and colors, I think some of that is under the hood soon. As for performance, Pr has been outstanding for me in the last year!
Take a look at the keyboard shortcuts. I don't know if they added these recently but you can make a different shortcut for each marker color or to add a different type of marker. I've always liked navigating next/previous markers and deleting with default shortcuts. You can option + click a marker to convert it into a range marker then drag it across the timeline. If you use M to set a marker then press M again it'll open the edit dialogue box to quickly edit details and tab around not ever using the mouse.
On Mac you can close panels with cmd+W (guessing on windows ctrl+W would work). If that didn't work well you could use a shortcut to change custom workspaces to show/hide panels.
@@Jensen1011 Hiya! So I've mapped my numpad keys to different marker colours and that's been really helpful. I press M for the marker and any key from Num 1-8 to change the colour of it. I'll try the Cmd+W you've suggested for closing the panel windows. I'm hoping that in the next version, I can use the same shortcut to open and close a panel instead of using Cmd+W.
Sorry, for me there are less and less reasons to stand with premiere. Just improvements almost nobody asked for. A view days ago davinci came up with a great update...Adobe, you should wake up...NOW.
Have you seen the recent announcement about generative Ai coming to Pr? ua-cam.com/users/shortspfJ_-Xf850U?si=1FQmtZg7vGXRTPOD
@@PremiereGal yes...but nothing is really interessting to me. Davinci almost makes plug ins like filmconvert or dehancer useless because it's build in. The noise reduction is almost as good as neat video. I still use premiere but I am not sure how long.
@@clausstahl5413 Is Noise Reduction and more built-in color tools the updates you are looking for? :) Just curious!
@@PremiereGal I am excited
They absolutely need to allow for deleting of comments from the comment panel. Having to double click on a marker, then click delete, then have the window go away before opening the next comment manually is very tedious.
This is nice and all, but MAN Premiere has too many text-related window panels. They should just have everything inside the one panel. Not weird seeing fresh editors struggle with the interface
We need better Keyframe Splines :D
Install premiere pro but error lunch 0xc0000142
Meanwhile Capcut is taking over the video editing space with better video editing performance, mind blowing AI features, one click functions and they update almost everyday.
Just more Adobe sponsored tat, glad I made the move to davinci. I used to be a solid PP user but it’s never fixed the stability issues and keeps throwing in very minimal features.
Adobe didn't sponsor this...I had another sponsor though, LucidLink which I talk about in the video...The stability in Premiere Pro today is HUGE. The program runs so much better today compared to a couple years ago.
Native caption animating for sure would save me a lot of time.
Yes! Thank you for echoing that.
@PremiereGal I use your process for nesting and adjustment layer transitions and it is a life saver!
Nice hat 🙂
Great 👍🏻 ..but czech language support for transcribe still missing 👎🏻
I like the markers feature. For Frame IO users like me, having those marker comments export to Frame IO is very helpful. I need to create a subtitle style for branded content, companies that like to use "their" font style.
Yeah, would like to delete markers from the dedicated panel.
@roysama_gg commented that you can simply hit delete on selected markers in the markers panel. Which is great! Otherwise I would have mentioned using opt+m ⌨ shortcut which also works.
Why in the Hell is the fade in fade out still not added???
Don't you think capcut is waaaay a head, when it cames to captions. In premiere it feels time consuming.
Oh yea, I mean the captions in Capcut are pretty much the best thing about the software. Premiere Pro allows for more customisation, but I agree that having basic animation AND Style presets built-in is a must. Capcut was developed by Bytedance the creators of TikTok so of course they developed the software specifically for social video. Premiere Pro is developed for pro-editing, tv/movies, and of course for creators as well, but it looks like they are still catching up to the apps that have specific social-media focused features like animating captions.
@@PremiereGal Lets have new channel called capcut Gal😀. Im just kidding but yes, thanks for the info
I wish premirere could count how many marker in the timeline
Good

Anyone annoyed by mask selection not working??
Dial up gets a thumbs up
And just two months later Adobe drops v 24.5. LOL
great video, shame about Adobe being adobe. A massive nothing burger. I'll take it but for 50 a month its not exactly mind blowing. Not even quick and useful multicam without a whole load of prep .
Well, I have to agree on the multicam front, it does need a face lift -- That said updates are more frequent now, stability is much betterx and not every update can be "Wowza!" Gradual improvements are happening. That said $50 is for the whole creative cloud plan (Ps, Ae, Ai, Pr, Au, Ch, etc) just Pr is around ~$24 correct?
@@PremiereGal true about wow updates but basics I do expect to be more efficient. I’ll give you an example in Resolve I can play back about 6-8 videos in at the same time but in Pr the same videos can only play back around 2-3 without stuttering. So you are correct at around 24 for Pr vs a system that performs twice as fast for around 320 forever. If I didn’t have clients that needed Pr my work would be faster and I’d be able to afford some better health insurance maybe 🤔.
Sound strange but I do love pr just wish they would treat their audience better.
@@PremiereGal @rw3452 I will say that I was impressed the other day when I wanted to make 14 multi-cam sequences from a two camera shoot so I selected all 28 clips in the project panel and used the Create Multi-Camera Source Sequence options and in 10 seconds it perfectly synced the cameras for each set into separate sequences. I was impressed by the speed and accuracy of it setting all the up for me but also that it was able to deal with 28 clips of different cameras and figure out where they all go.
hi gal 🤸 i need your help. I saw an effect and I want to learn how to do it. You may have a nice video topic. In this video, the hologram effect in the aquarium at the 7th second (ua-cam.com/video/PFUY1MWfhcQ/v-deo.html). I'm following🙏
