You can buy a three bed room house in suburbs but sadly 500,000$ is not enough to buy a decent studio in Seoul.

In Seoul you get nothing for that money. If you look in the same area as this house, you'd probably get something similar without the basement and a little (or a lot) less space. You just have to know where to look.

In the city center of Seoul ca. 18500 USD, outside of the city center ca. 9100 USD for an apartment, you can forget buying a house in Seoul. You should look for something outside of Seoul, it's way less expensive. This house for example is in Gwangju-si in Gyeonggi, the houses there are great and inexpensive and it's not that far from Seoul.
