Fantastic video mate! I watched this on a big screen TV and it was fabulous! A few years down the track people will still be watching your videos working out how to fly this addon like people are still watching PMDG 737NGX tutorials uploaded to UA-cam when that first came out.
einige Fragen dazu: es war doch ein Localizer-Approach. warum wurdest du dann nicht exakt auf die Runway aligned? Was genau macht dass aus, wenn man auf Track umschaltet?
Brilliant video never done a loc landing, can I ask how you manage your approach speed past adwig when you start the 3.7 grandiant.. I think I'm getting a bit confused in how you manage the speed
@Blackbox711 I'm flying the A320 neo, I come onto adwig, catch the localiser, but I can never manage to get tye glidescope diamond in the right position, its always running away from me downwards.. if I extensd flaps, the plan accends upwards, what is the ideal approach speed to keep on the 3.7 glidescope down?
@@arifazar786that is why you need to reduce speed to 180 - 160 kts before starting descent. Then use the FPA mode on the autopilot and set -3.7 degrees. If you get high on path increases the path down accordingly.
Thanks Black Box. When I have done the ILS approach It has me further to the rh side and a quick correction to land RW26. Having said that, I noticed that most of your approach was under manual control. Thanks one again. I am greatly inspired by your flights and hope the cold get's better soon? ;-)
Loc button makes sure your course is according to the localizer. The approach button is for ILS approach and it also manages your glide slope into the airport. Best way to see the difference is flying an ILS approach and only press the LOC button
+Mathieu Guignès ... You should not press the APPR mode button on the FCU since it is only a Localizer Approach. If you press the APPR button and the AFDS actually captures the Glideslope you are flying a non-authorized ILS-Approach. So for an Localizer-Approach use the LOC mode and FPA for the descent. Regards

Yes but I was talking about a LOC-only emitter without GS nor DME. But I understand your answer. Thanks
Hi. Usually I will lower the landing gear about 2000 ft above ground. In this case I lowered the gear so early because of the 3.8° descend profile and the fact that the airspeed was slowly increasing. On a non-precision approach you want to take speed out in order to reduce workload. Regards
Hey blackbox awesome tutorials, it adds real substance coming from a proper pilot unlike most of the desktop jockeys knocking out you tube videos! Keep the videos coming please. Maybe a full flight would be a good idea similar to what Matt Davies does, so startup > takeoff > climb > descent > landing > taxi to gate.
Hi Sid. Thank you for the kind words! Yep, I am going to do some full flights in the future. I still have to publish some more basic videos before I do that. Happy Landings!
Blackbox711 another small clarification, we use the LS button to do ILS as well? So if we enter an ILS approach on the fmgs, and i press the LS button, i get the ILS scale on the pfd?
Jose Francisco Ibañez Moreno you got to use your secondary flight on the fmgc and insert a visual app. to rwy 08 in order to help you out in the circling app.
No. The glidepath indication is for information only. Does the approach chart say „LOC 26“ or „ILS 26“? Correct it says „LOC 26“. Hence you are only allowed to couple with the Localizer and not with the GP indication. The reason for this is the high terrain on final approach which can deflect/bend the GP signal.
Apparently you don’t realize that I am a real world airline pilot. I have flown the A320 series for 11 years as a Captain. Again, you can’t legally fly an ILS approach without an official (by the country aviation authorities) approved and published approach procedure. The glidepath or Glideslope indication would normally not show on a LOC approach. If it is shown then it is for information use only. Hence the vertical profile is cross checked with the charted distance/altitude table. The LOC approach is a non-precision approach procedure. In that video I used FPA (Flight Path Angle) mode as the vertical mode. Laterally I used LOC mode.
Hi , how u get vspeeds for A319 or 321

Hi elmar. Thank you very much for the kind words! I really appreciate it! Happy Landings
I am watching this in 2018 ;)
Instablaster...
Thanks for that! On my way to INN now! I was worried I was going to have to land on 08 but thankfully it's 26
:-)
Nicely done! As we say. any landing you can walk away from is a good landing.
Hi. I know, not the smoothest landing. But when the runway is short you have to hit the touchdownzone. At least that is my excuse ;-)
Positive contact :) One of the many things I remember from the jaa Ops atpl syllabus.
Keep those videos coming, really loving it.
Great video keep them coming.
Thanks
Phil
Thank you very much Phil.
Very nice and professional work
Thank you very much 👍🏼
Great video. Would love to see an approach to Queenstown here in New Zealand.
Hi Andy. I don't have that scenery yet. But I will have a look at it. Regards
Try ORBX on this. South Island and Queenstown Airport. It has two approaches. Both demanding. But one with a very steep approach over the mountains.
I'll have a look :-)

Hi. Thank you. Depending on the aircraft type you need to set a certain amount of drag through flaps/speedbrakes/landing gear.

My pleasure. Keep practicing, this approach isn’t easy. Happy Landings
I need to watch this a lot just got the route made1b then Locdme w I ain’t got a clue
I hope it cleared up some questions
@@Blackbox711 it did thank you just got to retain info and keep simming practicing

Thank you. The cold is long gone 👍🏼
Still well in your bird starting blocks fellow ! Thank you so much ! How many hours on A320 ?
Hello Jean. Thank you for watching and commenting! I logged more than 3000 hrs on A320. Regards
Excellent as usual ! I have a little question. How do you manage to display a Navigraph map while FSX keeps running ?
Hi Stabilo. Thank you! I added the chart afterwards in my video editing software. I read the chart on my tablet. Regards
What exactly does the LOC button do? Is it similar to the approach button??
Loc button makes sure your course is according to the localizer. The approach button is for ILS approach and it also manages your glide slope into the airport. Best way to see the difference is flying an ILS approach and only press the LOC button
BTW, how do you undock those instrument panels separately?
Just left klick on the middle of the display
Oh, thanks. But I play fsx (Aerosoft A-320) so it does't work for me.
great video!
Is it possible to arm the APPR on the FCU ? what effect does it have ?

Is it normal to lower the gear that early? When do you decide to lower the gear, is it refered to an specific hight or distance to the runway?
Hi. Usually I will lower the landing gear about 2000 ft above ground. In this case I lowered the gear so early because of the 3.8° descend profile and the fact that the airspeed was slowly increasing. On a non-precision approach you want to take speed out in order to reduce workload. Regards

why do you use LS button on loc approach?
That is what it is there for. Otherwise you won’t see the LOC bar on the PFD
Blackbox711 so LS button gives us the loc bar indication on the pfd? And loc button will enable the aircraft to capture the localizer and follow it?
Exactly
Blackbox711 thanks a lot for the clarification
Blackbox711 another small clarification, we use the LS button to do ILS as well? So if we enter an ILS approach on the fmgs, and i press the LS button, i get the ILS scale on the pfd?
What approach do you select in FMGC? I am using Justsim Innsbruck 1.25 but can't see the G/S indicator on PFD.
I select the LOC26 approach. So in real life there would usually not be a G/S signal. Regards
Blackbox711 thanks you! Is correct to select Loc26 Approach even to do the circle to land Rwy 08?
Yep. At the MDA of 3700 feet you level off and go into the visual circling part of the approach. Regards
Blackbox711 And is not selected the Rwy 26 with Loc26 App select? How i need to do to select 08?
Jose Francisco Ibañez Moreno you got to use your secondary flight on the fmgc and insert a visual app. to rwy 08 in order to help you out in the circling app.
Like a boss!
Sehr ausfürlich erklärt, gutes video :)
It is free scenery, or i must pay for it
A very basic version of the airport is in the base product. However the one you see in my video is paywarw
New subscriber here. :)
Man, fsx looks so crap now after msfs. Nice 320 though.
Hello... Am I the first one?
this is the ILS approach, not the loc approach.
because you glided with g/s
No. The glidepath indication is for information only. Does the approach chart say „LOC 26“ or „ILS 26“? Correct it says „LOC 26“. g/p only occurs in the LNAV+VNAV approach. This approach has nothing to do with LOC. Real life is not like this.
@@Blackbox711
I wrote g/p instead of g/s.
