      You're complete knowledge is useless till you are able to save yourself your life and body in threatening situation from physical assault! You're body is the first thing which will save you and itself because it is the entity which has an actual physical presence. Therefore a strong body is more important than any skill and in physical confrontation always size has big advantage be it muscles or bones even belly fat so grow them. Finally anything strikes practiced with full contact of body generates the capacity to actually fight in physical confrontation and winning is other thing and knowledge of experienced comes thereafter.

    The first thing i have learned in Karate (litteraly, because it was the warm up in the first begginer course lesson) was ALWAYS keeping your ball of the foot attatched to the floor while walking and running (similar to ski running). This exercise burned into my head within a few months and i kept moving with the concept you are intoducing since than.

    It adds almost 12 inch or more to my reach, improves my stability, increased power, better stance.

    Hi. I have a question of clarification please. The membership fee per month is it R9.99, basically R10 or R999 rand per month, basically a thousand rand in South African Rand. I want to join, but can not afford a thousand rand per month. I just started doing karate again at age 40, doing IJKA now, 18 years ago I did JKA. I passed my first grading, now yellow 1 belt. I watch your tips and videos for extra training exercises. Helps a lot. Please excuse my English if I make mistakes, it is not my first language I am Afrikaans.

      Although there is definitely a change that might happen, I think your weight must've been too much on the front leg, causing the upper body to tilt forward while moving.

    Well done but all it comes down to is just confidence Drive the will to understand that you are your skill fighting is fun to be an overall better human being and to give it your very best day in and day out and to take all your knowledge and skill and combine it with life skills to be even better than before and of course how well you understand any form of discipline that all arts are the same and connected to use your tools properly what works best for you to read your enemy to realize that any fight is about overcoming your enemy and being the very best peace be well ultimately it does come down to to each their own of course being sharp and all senses vision hearing calmness and realizing that low attacks are the surprise attacks be well

    I really enjoy your videos but I have to disagree highly with this title there is no one secret that makes you a black belt it's the many practices and principles that I guess you could argue that come from a base or single thing but I think it's even more complex than that it's a mindset more than anything anybody that's trained in traditional Okinawan karate

    Actually the reason why I'm thinking quiting Karate is because cardio-wise, we are a world away from Muay thai/BJJ/MMA guys. And that Karate fight philosophy doesn't highlight the fact that in reality you need to be trained in getting hit (such as in boxing/kickboxing) instead of one hit (for point karate) thinking of it all...... That's just silly. Have u ever trained in boxing/kickboxing/muay thai, Yusuke?

      Why not try out other styles? Kyokushin is based around the idea of not who lands the best blows but who can take the most and keep going

      @marfan2007 Рік тому

      Sorry to weigh in over this, but choosing karate only for cardio is kind of silly... I can totally agree with you, that the cardio aspect of karate exercises is different from other disciplines, but there's a lot more than just this... Karate is a way of life, inside and outside of the dojo... My new Sensei is a black belt BJJ practitioner, and sometimes introduces some of its drills when he really wants to get the best of us, but only in this aspect... Sorry for the long answer...

    • @thammons80
      @thammons80 Рік тому +1

      @@marfan2007 i can say a few of us train karate a little differently than you might think, i train 6 days a week.. 2x a day , 7:15-8:30am on weights, 4-6pm teaching at the dojo, i run a lot of HIIT / Tabata style drilling, high intensity 50 secs on 10 secs off, for examples Our Daily Warmup , takes about 20 mins , stretching out then conditioning ,jumping jacks x 125, crossover toe touches x 100, 100-200 pushups, 200 situps, 200 leg raises, 200 squats at bodyweight, basic warmup stuff....then 1000 tsuki in 20ish minutes, follow that that 500 geri in 15 mins, and 500 uke for the next 15..i also do things like own a weighted body suit of 1/4" steel plates that has a vest , wrist , and calf weights..i can max it at 88 lb (can thank goku and rock lee for that idea LOL) , usally 10lb an arm and 15 on each leg and then 30 in the vest... train HIIT with that on and it becomes a real workout an not to mention makes you stupidly fast..i implement old school things like Hojo Undo, Chi ishi training, A lot of high intensity 3 min round heavy bag work...there are methods that can be employed if its done right imo
      ...you train that type of way and i promise that cardio won't be any issue

Ok, it will definitly help you with your movement. .... But I think you know what I mean. 🙈 This made him a black belt. This statement feels kind of wrong (even if it is the truth).
