Shanks is confirmed to know about his Celestial Dragon heritage, which is really interesting. I suspect he went to Marie Geosie after Roger died but before he started the Red-Haired Pirates, and what made Shanks cry in his private talk with Roger was Roger telling Shanks he was a celestial dragon. The mural is gorgeous. I still can’t tell if it’s one image or a triptych. This will be picked to bits. I see samurai, Minks, giants, ancient giants, dwarves, Imu, the Five Elders, Luffy, Emet, Kuma and Bonney, Shirahoshi, Ark Maxim, the Noah, Zunisha, and the giant serpent from Skypiea. I need to spend more time with it to identify everything else. But seriously, 1138 is going to become shorthand in the community for greatness.
Whatever prompted Shanks to cry was something he asked Roger about, Roger didn't just drop something on him. From Chapter 968, page 2. "When Roger returned from Laugh Tale, Redtaro came to him and asked him something, only to shed tears afterward." I can't really see Shanks specifically asking if he was a Celestial Dragon or even about his heritage at all. And it happened right after Laugh Tale, so it's probably something related to that.

You're not the only one, but I definitely didn't see it until it was pointed out, and honestly I just believe it's a coincidence. It's too weird looking to be supposed to depict an elephant. Also, there's oars on what should be its trunk. But the ONLY other things in the mural that have oars are ships. So personally, I don't think it's Zunesha, but it's not impossible...

About the figure's blond hair, you can see a similar hat to what the figure wears in Minatomo's workshop Chapter 929 and it has a light colored wig attached to it. It could be Scopper with a similar hat
Now I think the forbidden sun might be the one piece. I think that the motherflame was created in an attempt to replicate the one piece. And the sun that the monster is holding might really be the one piece
Remember when Kaido asked Luffy who he was after gear 5th? What if Rocks ate the gum gum fruit but couldnt control it like luffy and thus went from being the white (joyboy nika) to being the destroyer (the black nika)?
The last Nika fruit user existed 800 years ago. It was Joy Boy. This was confirmed by the Elders, who would’ve had plenty of knowledge on Rocks, so it’s incredibly unlikely Rocks ate that fruit.
This is probably the most interesting interpretation of the mural so far. Some interpreted it as only representing the Void Century alone, and not all three eras, while this seems to interpret each era from left to right. It's very similar to how I interpret the mural, albeit with a few differences such as Yamato being on the mural as the "Sulong Mink" you mentioned.
The lady on a boat with the sun symbol might be Toki. Just like Emet- from the perspective of Joyboy and his crew in the past who drew this, she should had been present in the final war fighting alongside Luffy/Joyboy. She of course ended up contributing indirectly and sacrificing herself early, same as Emet who helped during Egghead so both will probably not reappear in the final final war, but have both definitely contributed enough to deserve a spot on the mural. Notice how amongst all the ship on the left side of the mural it uniquely has the sun symbol on it, suggesting that unlike the rest of the characters drawn being from the present in which the sun symbol was mostly forgotten and unused (or so they would at least assume when drawing this), this one character being from their time period could explain why it has that symbol still. She may had even teleported herself to the future on such a ship which ended up getting wrecked at sea which led her to drift to that random island in which she met Oden. The 2nd figure on the ship alongside her might be the Kozuki member she was meant to find (Oden), or more likely the heir she may have been meant to bring to the world with a Kozuki (Momo), as they are fittingly smaller than the female figure in the drawing. There is also the possibility she did not die at the end of Oden's flashback but simply time traveled further down into a future we have yet to reach in the story and will reappear in the final war, but even if that does not happen the theory stands.
Everyone should note that the two of the most important symbols in One Piece weren't shown un the mural, and may be hidden by Franky: The Straw Hat and maybe Bink's Sake
@@henriqeduu that's it. Clearly, straw hats are important in this story for some reason. There's the ones in Im's refrigerator, the one which belongs to Roger/Shanks/Luffy and Ace made one for Oars as a gift.
What if the child that drew the picture was Toki? She could see the future. Also don't forget one of the greatest quotes in one piece "Fear itself ia god." So when they speak of gods, we may interpret that as fear of something which is that god.
I absolutely love the discussions and theories that this gigantic mural is sparking. I'm not really that deep into the details of past chapters (and my japanese is also quite mid), so this video is really a godsent regarding context for the latest chapter. I especially like the D representing the half moon, even if it doesn't yet explain why they are half There are a few small things I think differently of or where I have additional ideas: -I don't believe that an ancient weapon would be drawn as one of the smallest boats on the mural, so the boat in the city is probably just another ancient vehicle. -I believe that the elevator is going in a circle. The people on the right go down to take the energy/ parts of mother flame and then coming back up at the left. Though, the theory that it represents chosen/celestrial dragons is also interesting. -While noah is most likely depicted to be in water, the water itself has a similar shape to an elefant. Maybe, this also shows the great crime that Zunesha commited, for whatever reason helping Inu. -The mink in the top middle (Third age) could be Yamato. This is based on that the minks are shown in a different part already (the bear). Though this might be wrong, as Yamato should have a ring around their shoulder from their awakened zoan fruit.
so in the final war where is blackbeard.. i wonder if he is gonna die or if he will be taking the place of imu and becoming that big shadow wanting to bring darkness
I have believed, for a very long time, Zunisha is an Ancient Zoan DF user. He will transform back to a human when the time is right and then die almost immediately after because of his old age and inability to transform, which was keeping him alive all these years.
Fun fact, in the Bibles mythology the animals mostly go in groups of 7 and 4 depending on if they are "clean" or not, the whole idea it's pairs is just one of the many many misconceptions of that mythology haha, but honestly the world would be better if more people followed the morals of OP than it
On the second World aside the flooding of the world, I think It might also means the formation of Grand Line (and Calm Belt) The key are a phrase that are exist in both of the first and second world "They will never meet again" because the world literally are divided by both of Red Line and Grand Line Thus, the erasure of both would literally unite the world, depicted in the phrase "Surely they will meet again" because the sea are finally no longer separated, becoming All Blue
I still have this feeling that when they mention those men would be unable to meet again refers to that times sun god or joyboy and person that was to them like shanks, making a promise to meet again it never happened, and in present day they hope that the 2 persons will meet
I'll try and not take too much space with this and summarise it as much as possible, but my theory on the Mural is: - The two demonic figures who appear on the mural actually represent Uranus and Poseidon, Uranus on the left, Poseidon in the top middle. - Uranus is seen holding a sun, which we can assume is the Mother Flame that powers it - In the middle, we can see Poseidon and the giant Serpent throwing "fire" to eachother, but I believe that's not actually meant to represent fire, but some sort of speech pattern between them. This would mean that Poseidon is actually communicating with the serpent, which would make the serpent a Sea King - In my opinion, every single "god" except for the Sun God (Nika) that's mentioned in the mural is but a metaphor, and doesn't actually talk about a real god. - "The god of the sea" could be a metaphor for a great flood that sunk the world, which we know did take place in the past, more than likely with the use of Uranus (in my theory, this took place exactly at the ending of the Second World, where Imu used Uranus to defeat Joyboy and his forces and raised the sea level by result of its usage.) - "The god of the forest" is pretty clearly referring to the Devil Fruit tree, or whatever device produced the devil fruits, and the "demons" it spawned refer to the Devil Fruits themselves. - "The god of the earth" could be another metaphor for a cataclysmic event, this time for an Earthquake. - Seeing as this is mentioned at the end of the First World, my assumption is that, much like the Second World came to an end because of an Ancient weapon, Uranus, so did the First World, but in this case it was Poseidon. In this case, Poseidon would've used the Sea Kings (aka, the Serpent of Hell), who would've caused a huge earthquake in their wake due to their sheer mass. - This is further backed up by the fact that, in Ancient Greek Mythology, Poseidon was not only the god of the seas, but also the god of earthquakes. - With this logic, I summarise that the Third World will also come to an end, to its "destruction", by the usage of the third and final Ancient Weapon, Pluton. - My theory is that Franky will play a big part in this, as he is ALSO on the panel, not the mural but the panel, and could be Oda's way of representing Pluton, since we know that he used to have the blueprints for it and thus was connected to it the most out of everyone in the series currently. - By using Pluton, Luffy will most likely "destroy" the third world somehow, but as ominous as this may sound, this only means that he'd give birth to a Fourth and Final World, one with no wars but only peace, which would more than likely let him achieve his dream somehow as well.
First thought to cross my mind after reading this chapter was: "I can't wait for Arthur's take on this." After Oda, you're the best we have. Thank you so much for everything you've done!
Zuneesha is actually present in the mural. The object imu or the king is standing on actually looks like an elephant if you zoom out a bit. Which would make sense if its close to the period that the noah was in use and joyboy somehow failed the mermaids
Vegapunk mentioned that due to the flooding of the world in the past (probably as a result of the war in the second world), people were not able to meet each other anymore as traveling from island to island became increasingly dangerous. After the end of the third world, i.e. the final war, the ancient continent will probably be unflooded again and the sun will return to those lands, making it possible that "men will surely be able to meet again", i.e. all races of the world will be united in "one piece" of land.
i find it interesting that the historical harkley book was made to be read from left to right but then you have this historical mural art read from right to left 😅😅 It's not inconsistency and you can argue that oda had to do this because manga. but i wish there was a canonical explanation in the story why there's a change of the way they consume or present literature.
Water 7, shandia, sky island, wano, even way back in east blue, he's known about the ancient history for a long damn time setting up that cataclysm, classic Oda. I spotted the ancient weapons, half moon being the Ds, Loki, but it's so dense
Confirmed. The stands for Davy, short for Davidson. Harley Davidson, the original hell’s angel and pirate that wrote the story of the void century. Since he’s a real hell’s angel he’s of course a lunatics wearing black leather. It makes sense doesn’t it? The hells angels are like pirates traveling in groups. They play into the theme of found family.

How could you tell who owns the sake?
?? The Mural depicts the Void Century and the First World, so the Straw Hats would not be on it
@@lemonplayz4032 the straw haT not hats, like the big one at imus room
@@kenhammscousin4716 I went with how the lyrics call it, but it may not even be Binks' e not even sake
@@henriqeduu that's it. Clearly, straw hats are important in this story for some reason. There's the ones in Im's refrigerator, the one which belongs to Roger/Shanks/Luffy and Ace made one for Oars as a gift.
Been waiting for this one
Ty i was just waiting for this
What if the child that drew the picture was Toki?
She could see the future.
Also don't forget one of the greatest quotes in one piece "Fear itself ia god."
So when they speak of gods, we may interpret that as fear of something which is that god.
Thank you so much for this!
Does anyone else think that the Imu to the right of the tree kind of looks like it’s standing on a giant elephant?
i’ve been waiting for this video since the 30th 😭🙏
Oda lowkey turning us into Elbaf giants with all our different versions of the Sun God lore he just dropped.
BEEN WAITING FOR THIS MY KING
I absolutely love the discussions and theories that this gigantic mural is sparking. I'm not really that deep into the details of past chapters (and my japanese is also quite mid), so this video is really a godsent regarding context for the latest chapter. I especially like the D representing the half moon, even if it doesn't yet explain why they are half
There are a few small things I think differently of or where I have additional ideas:
-I don't believe that an ancient weapon would be drawn as one of the smallest boats on the mural, so the boat in the city is probably just another ancient vehicle.
Though this might be wrong, as Yamato should have a ring around their shoulder from their awakened zoan fruit.
when you said be patient I gave up, I came for the lore and am not willing search a 50 min video when you finally got to the point
been waiting for this video 😊😊
Been looking forward to this video since reading the chapter
I’m now worried about the hair. Remember Kinemon was blonde when he was young and now he’s black haired.
so in the final war where is blackbeard.. i wonder if he is gonna die or if he will be taking the place of imu and becoming that big shadow wanting to bring darkness
Was waiting for this video and lunapiena to explain this amazing chapter
Luffy: Sun God
Dragon: Rain God
Imu: Earth God
???: Forest God
I was waiting for you
I have believed, for a very long time, Zunisha is an Ancient Zoan DF user. He will transform back to a human when the time is right and then die almost immediately after because of his old age and inability to transform, which was keeping him alive all these years.
this is exactly the video i was waiting for the most
Haven’t really been that into One Piece for a Minute. This Mural has me binging so many videos 😭
This is it ladies and gents. The one we've ALL been waiting for. Buckle up!!!!
Fun fact, in the Bibles mythology the animals mostly go in groups of 7 and 4 depending on if they are "clean" or not, the whole idea it's pairs is just one of the many many misconceptions of that mythology haha, but honestly the world would be better if more people followed the morals of OP than it
I was also waiting for this upload
Man.. What a time to be a onepiece fan. I'm truly blown away!🎉🎉🎉🎉
Best intro. The goat of theories.
On the second World aside the flooding of the world, I think It might also means the formation of Grand Line (and Calm Belt)
The key are a phrase that are exist in both of the first and second world "They will never meet again" because the world literally are divided by both of Red Line and Grand Line
Thus, the erasure of both would literally unite the world, depicted in the phrase "Surely they will meet again" because the sea are finally no longer separated, becoming All Blue
Best video this year
I still have this feeling that when they mention those men would be unable to meet again refers to that times sun god or joyboy and person that was to them like shanks, making a promise to meet again it never happened, and in present day they hope that the 2 persons will meet
I'll try and not take too much space with this and summarise it as much as possible, but my theory on the Mural is:
- The two demonic figures who appear on the mural actually represent Uranus and Poseidon, Uranus on the left, Poseidon in the top middle.
- Uranus is seen holding a sun, which we can assume is the Mother Flame that powers it
- In the middle, we can see Poseidon and the giant Serpent throwing "fire" to eachother, but I believe that's not actually meant to represent fire, but some sort of speech pattern between them. This would mean that Poseidon is actually communicating with the serpent, which would make the serpent a Sea King
- In my opinion, every single "god" except for the Sun God (Nika) that's mentioned in the mural is but a metaphor, and doesn't actually talk about a real god.
- "The god of the sea" could be a metaphor for a great flood that sunk the world, which we know did take place in the past, more than likely with the use of Uranus (in my theory, this took place exactly at the ending of the Second World, where Imu used Uranus to defeat Joyboy and his forces and raised the sea level by result of its usage.)
- "The god of the forest" is pretty clearly referring to the Devil Fruit tree, or whatever device produced the devil fruits, and the "demons" it spawned refer to the Devil Fruits themselves.
Been waiting on this video 🙏🏿 when one piece is finally completed I will be here.
Was looking forward to your take ever since the chapter dropped
8:53 maybe his hair aren't blond but white.
I was thinking the design looked a little like Shiki
The joyboy and Nika flashbacks/scenes/explanations are gonna hit like crack in the anime when finally depicted.
Great one buddy...i need to rewatch another time tho....👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Vegapunk mentioned that due to the flooding of the world in the past (probably as a result of the war in the second world), people were not able to meet each other anymore as traveling from island to island became increasingly dangerous. After the end of the third world, i.e. the final war, the ancient continent will probably be unflooded again and the sun will return to those lands, making it possible that "men will surely be able to meet again", i.e. all races of the world will be united in "one piece" of land.
History will never see another one piece of art like this
What you called water under Imu, is that not simply Zunisha? They seem to be standing on top of it's trunk.
that's Joyboy and the whole drawing showing his failure!
Here for a second time lol, love the vids
i find it interesting that the historical harkley book was made to be read from left to right but then you have this historical mural art read from right to left 😅😅
It's not inconsistency and you can argue that oda had to do this because manga. but i wish there was a canonical explanation in the story why there's a change of the way they consume or present literature.
Mom Artur is yelling at me again. Or his caps are stuck
