I am beginning to think dating is a bit of a waste of time, and just getting to the point with marrying is best. Within reason of course. It just might not take as long as you think.

I agree with the point on texting, in the early stages it's a bit much to be pouring out so much and like doing those late night texting can be unhealthy at the beginning and make you a little dependent on the other person and then if you were to break up early on in the relationship, it's gonna feel like something's now missing in your life and it might take a toll on you, so moderation is key for everything basically, so don't be clingy haha 💕

I genuinely laugh at your videos. I enjoy them! I’m 20 and a single mom to my 18 month old daughter. I have a past but God has washed me clean from it ✨I know God has the one out there for my daughter & I, but sometimes I get lonely & impatient! I also moved to another state over a year ago and with working, being a full time single mom & school, I have no time for friends. I actually kind of forget how to make friends.
We do go to church, but I still haven’t met any friends there. I believe the Lord is keeping me alone so I can work on the most important relationship with him.

I was a single mom for seven years until I met my husband we dated for six years I know a long time. We just weren’t in the right financial place to get married sooner. We have now have been married five years and have an almost three year old son. So we have two boys a teen and a toddler. We are best friends. Being a single mom is the hardest thing you will ever do but the most rewarding. At times I had lost hope. I now have a loving family, loving husband that loves both his boys equally. Just remember your worth the best sometimes it’s just worth the wait. Glad you are taking care of you and your child’s future. Good luck . I like your point about constantly texting. My last relationship was built on a friendship, which was built on mostly texts. A year before we started dating, we moved to video calls, but still did a lot of texting, especially when missing each other. You can sometimes find it easier to say things over text that you would be more cautious/hesitant saying saying in person, which makes it easy to let the emotions fly!!! Good points on limiting time, and making sure that time together is occupied. I like walks in the park, and visits to amusement parks. :)
Your dating idea of the day: Go to your local Good will or thrift shop. Each of you picks out a (modest) outfit for the other person. On your next date, you wear those clothes, even if they're goofy and unfashionable. This might not be the best if you care about fashion, but it's a great time to step out and to an awkward/fun thing together regardless of what people think. And you get to laugh a lot. :D
Idea 2: One of you plans the date out, then sits and waits at the location. Along the way, they've prepared clues for the other to find/get in texts that that person has to figure out to find the place. You could also come up with a consequence if the person can't figure out the (reasonable) clues and gives up.

Going on the road trip together is an interesting idea for a date. I personally would love to do that one day. No plans, no destination place, just go with the flow. Stop by for some food and have a lunch near the river out of town, explore some new places, or even sleep in the car for a night (if you're married of course).

Date ideas:
1) Maybe go to a park and make sand castles and play on the swings? See how much fun it is to be kids again together on the playground :)
2) Go on a hike together in a densely forested place - see how adventurous the person is. Do they take charge like pirates looking for treasure? Or are they careful an cautious? Also, do they take some time to look around and take it in, or do they have a "get to the goal" mentality (which also depends on what you guys stated as the purpose for the hike - ie was the goal to hike and enjoy, or get to the top and see they view?) ?
3) Oh! If you have a subway (AKA metro) in your area, try getting off at all the different stops and go exploring together :) Or, do the same thing with the bus stops. Walk around and get lost together in an area you're not very familiar with :)
4) Maybe just make up songs and sing together and have fun :) Medleys, new tunes, sing and match and enjoy :)
5) Pray and worship time together for sure! But free worship and prayer time; not just rigid "this that and the next".
6) Karaoke! :D Because singing is great!! :D
Okay, I'll leave it at that (though there are surely more ideas).

I love your point about how during your dating phase, you shouldn't spend every waking moment together since if/when you get married, you'll be forced to. There's a lot of pressure for us to spend as much time with our partner before marriage as possible so we "really know" them and if they're "good for us" and whatnot, and you put dating back in its proper place with that. Here’s a fun date idea: get a shoebox and fill it with ideas that can be pretty easy to do spontaneously like for example “drive until lost and then explore the city 🌃 together” and then place these simple ideas in the shoebox and you both can make one so the guys has one and the girl has one. Then when you want to go on a date, one person randomly picks something from that box and then you guys spontaneously do that idea without any plans
Just make sure to turn the GPS back on when the date is finished. :0)

I would love to see a video on long-distance relationships/ online dating 💜A fun date idea that my boyfriend and i want to try, is dressing up in period clothing (for us, 1950s) and go somewhere or do an activity that people form that time would do (movie, dance, etc)🙂. We are a bit further away from eachother, almost 2 hrs, so just get time on weekends. Having plans is good so we use our time together wisely. And we do communicate a lot, just because we dont get as much time as some couples do during the week. Communication is key and you are so right that both people need time with friends of the same sex, family, etc

I’d say a great date idea is serving. My bf and I started out going on dates to the local food pantry or homeless shelter delivering supplies and packing backpacks and it was really great to see the kindness and compassion in him. It shows a lot about a person to see their hearts attitude toward serving others.
I’m meeting up with a guy for the first time in a few days. We decided to meet at an event our church is putting on. I’m so glad we’re doing that rather than meeting for dinner or something. It’ll be nice to see him in that setting and not be just the two of us. Less pressure and great insight into how he worships! I’m looking forward to it!

My boyfriend and I dating over a year and a half staying pure-
We almost always incorporate a physical activity like rock-climbing, swing dancing, walks/runs, workouts, stretching etc.
This has been really good. Also we always spend lots of time with each other’s families! This has also been so good.
For the first year we allowed some more physical ckoseness like cuddling but now for the last 7 months we only allow hand-holding and occasional brief hugs. The relationship is just too long term to be cuddling all the time... while we were knowing about eachother before, (having had a solid friend stage), it has been good to take a physical step back as the Lord directed us for this time.

My partner had expressed some concerns at times about other areas of our relationship lacking the energy and growth. But it wasn’t until I began to realize the relationship would be longer term than I originally expected that I brought it up-I was expecting marriage to come sooner. But God told me to take a step back. So I mustered the courage and told my man about what I was thinking-presenting it as a healthy challenge. It rang true with him and we were immediately on the same page. He has always done nothing but respect me!
Now he is much more capable of focusing on self-improvement and readiness.
So it was clear the level was too close when I realized our timeline was going to be different, less energy was being invested in emotional closeness/openness, and ultimately when God made it clear to me, and confirmed through my partner’s affirmation.
I think a good date idea is going hiking ! I love the outdoors

Great ideas and advice guys! 😊 some date ideas I like doing with my boyfriend is going to the gym together and then getting coffee/breakfast after. And you guys are so right having something to when you guys are together is so important, even if it’s something simple like going to a bookstore and grabbing smoothies together. There will be plenty of time when you’re married to sit at home and hang out together.

Date ideas: Have a picnic at a local park and watch the wildlife. Go on a hike. Get friends together for a pick up game of volleyball, soccer, basketball, or your game of choice. Have a progressive dinner....appetizers at one location, main course at another, and desserts at the final location. This can be at restaurants or friends houses. Go out for just desserts; the melting pot is a great location for this! Go to a park and read a book together. Or read separate books but sitting next to each other.

Even 12 years married, it really is important to be your own self and have your own time away from your spouse, too. Obvs when you’re married two become one, but once careers and kids and in-laws and LIFE gets busy, I found that spending time together is more important now AND taking time to care for myself is vital for our marriage.

Great vid again! Also, I am completely opposite to you, Paul, when it comes to date ideas haha. I am SUPER creative, so my goal is that when I start dating I want to have my significant other give me a list of certain things she likes and then give her the biggest surprises. However, I want to one up each one the best I can and then the proposal would be the biggest if it gets to that. And if it doesn't work out with that person, every girl has different interests and desires, so I get to start over and be even more creative! That's what I am most looking forward to when I date.

I'm late to the show, but I just wanted to chime in with a couple of my ideas for dating (both for established couples and new relationships):
Start a project together! Something creative that you both enjoy and are interested in. It can be all sorts of things. Buy a big canvas and paint a picture together as a couple, make music together, ask if you can perform in church and practice together and make a show if you like singing/playing an instrument. You could also help person X with a project in their home (or your shared home if you like together, of course). Perhaps person X needs help organizing their kitchen because they're bad at that and person Y is good at it. Or perhaps person Y would like som help decorating the home and making it cosy and homey, which person X loves doing. I hope I'm making sense - it's very early in the morning and English isn't my first language.

Date idea: hiking and a picnic. Sunrise/sunset hiking is especially romantic (ie plant to arrive at the top of the mountain in time to watch the sunrise or sunset)

I really appreciate your advices! What kind of church are you visiting? I'm looking for a church that teaches similar values like you do, and is open to young adults and teenagers and their needs on the same time. Btw I live in Germany, don't know whether churches are very different here to churches in your country... 🤔
