Okay, okay, we know, this was pretty cheesy. But we do believe that in this short film we were able to get an important point across. It’s easy to brush off the idea of setting boundaries, even if the two people are Christians. But just because you’re well meaning Christians doesn’t mean you can’t stumble or even fall into temptation if you’re not careful and wise. Follow two couples and see the difference between one that sets boundaries and one that shrugs them off.

That was cheesy, but it's true! It's ironic you posted this literally minutes after I set a boundary with my crush, who knows now I like him, and we've agreed to be friends. He doesn't want to lead me on, but I don't think he knows when he's doing or saying things that are flirtatious, so I told him today if we are to be just friends then there are some boundaries that need to be set, so I don't get lead on. Honesty takes vulnerability, sometimes, and can be hard, but if you're both Christ minded and truly want the best for each other then you'll face the difficult conversation and be honest about the boundaries you *need*. Ultimately, your relationships will be better for it. Now I know where my Brother stands, and as he honors my boundaries it will build trust between us and we'll know we can be our authentic selves and just go after God without any pressure, missunderstanding, or hurt.

Thanks for making this vid. I do agree that it's kinda cheesy but it's so true. It refreshed my mind that boundaries are there to help you and not to annoy you and make life boring. I want to make sure I keep boundaries in relationships when I'm older (I know I still have lots of time and this might surprise you but I'm thirteen) PS. may God bless your marriage, I believe God wants to reward those who keep his word, also I think keeping boundaries is a test from God that He wants us to pass 😀

I don’t understand why on earth people wouldn’t want to live together to see if marriage is right for them, and that includes an intimate relationship. I get why it’s in the Bible because unfortunately back in the day women were property and it was a means to protect women cause if she had pre-marital sex she was seen as useless and couldn’t survive. But we’re in 2019 where it’s just not necessary anymore. I’d rather be on my knees for two reasons on Sunday. These people are so judgey and annoying.

@@kimxx10 sex can always lead to consequences even in marriage that's why it's wise to be careful, married or not. What if you wait till marriage and than find out your husband cheated and gave you HIV? Marriage doesn't make you immune. Driving a car can have consequenes. Does that mean we should never drive cars? Or rather be careful when driving.

This is one of the weirdest videos I’ve watched.. you’re literally vilifying physical touch between two partners by presenting sex before marriage as this diabolical act that if you commit your life is changed ...and then suddenly the guy who didn’t have sex is getting married to the girl he’s been seeing for two months.. how’s that any different ?? People just end up getting married sooner to have sex and without exploring their options or taking time to really get to know the other person

To follow our own decisions and live OUR best lives. Mistakes will be made, which we will learn from. God does not warn us or frown on affection between people. Remember men wrote the Bible, it’s their interpretation of being a Christian. You are very unrealistic that people think this way.

And also not in larger groups. But that is just how I see it. Talking with somebody (christian) about it is very important though.

LA Revival wowie that was a jump. Someone feeling uncomfortable getting into the personal stuff of someone else's relationship doesnt mean they dont care. If they didnt care they wouldnt feel any sort of uncomfortability in the first place because their attitude would basically be that they dont care about the other person's feelings. Taking these things into consideration doesnt mean you dont care...

Stumbled upon one of these hardcore Christian videos. In the politest way possible, their behaviour after having sex shocked me. Maybe I'm missing something because I'm not very religious but all of this just seems so extreme. Is it necessary to feel such guilt over something that is natural? And do Christians think that God sends them to hell if they have sex before marriage and don't repent? Quite confused over here.

I think that you should start by just talking about like the person before me said love launguage and how you communicate! But another thing is if you plan on meeting up odviously you should definitely talk more about things like saving yourself for marriage but also other physical boundaries like hugging kissing sleeping in the same bed, etc.

I would agree with the others. Language used is very important, as well as topics of conversation, pictures exchanged etc and if the intent of the relationship is marriage then at some point before that physical meet ups will have to occur so a general and clear conversation on the topic of boundaries despite the distance should be had and follow ups on it throughout the relationship, especially before physical meetings. God bless

Im so sorry that you have fallen into the belief that you need to "save yourself" for marriage. It is very unhealthy to believe that you lose value if you have sex. Sex is natural and nothing to be ashamed of. Of course, i am not advocating for having sex with someone new every weekend that would be ridiculously unsafe and can lead some people to feel only valued in the physical sense, and not as a whole person. However, there is nothing wrong with a healthy balanced relationship that includes sex before marriage.

  • @lisaschwab5154

Hi, This was such a good video! I know many young Christian couples who started out planning to wait for marriage, but because they didn't set good boundaries at the beginning and/or didn't agree together on those boundaries, they ended up crossing lines they never wanted to cross- never meant to cross. But once you've crossed those lines- I hope one will take comfort in these words from a much wiser woman than I who goes to my church: "Conviction is the opposite of Condemnation" . Conviction is remorse for having sinned against God and His Word, because it grieves His heart, but God has not closed the door to you! Condemnation would keep you bound in the weight of the guilt of sin. Yet, God uses conviction to lead you to repentance; and God is faithful to forgive us! Then, go and sin no more (John 8:10-11). - It's a decision, but God can help with that part too!

A little cheesy? Sure. But not bad overall! I really like that you included the accountability side. older, wiser people, or good Godly peers are an amazing resource and help. To keep my thoughts brief instead of posting the book-like comment I had typed up:
I have found that being very specific in boundaries is important. Setting firm ones in place that are not based on situation/context, and that address as many physical acts or environments as possible. Not allowing too many "grey areas." (If it's grey, perhaps it's better to not do it either, even if it's "fine." If a couple is relying on each other to say something when you're starting to cross lines in a "grey area," they're going to end up crossing them. (P.S. Is Michael actually dating now, or was that just for the film?)

Have you believed in your heart that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins, was buried, and rose from the grave? You must believe that Jesus Christ is the Son and God and died on the cross for your sins and rose again to be saved from eternal damnation and instead go to heaven
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." Romans 10:9

The beauty of Gods wisdom.......waiting til marriage helps you create time to know each other more, helps you be tolerant of each other, builds the foundation if your relationship on durable love rather than the availability of sex(coz yall gon grow old someday and sex wont be as fun, atleast with your partner and one of yall gon cheat), helps you understand true love and prevents you using each other to gratify your sexual lusts and sub conciously objectifying each other.......marriage based in Gods wisdom will last, if not yall wont be able to withstand struggles with each other....
Thank You God for the Wisdom....
God bless Paul and Morgan and friends

Morgan I was very dissapointed in how you treated another Israelite Christian. God is Grey may not have it correct but she is trying. Your response to her topic on abortion was plain snippy and not becoming. We can all learn and even disagree without being snobbish. Sorry if this came across as mean. We can all show more empathy

I didn’t realize Christians required a committee to be formed when they’re in relationships. Maybe this is a big reason why Christianity and I didn’t work out because when two of my friends are in a relationship. What they do or don’t do is none of my damn business.

Atheist Gamer Right?! This is what I hated about mormonism and religion in general was people felt the need to interject themselves into your personal life and relationships. How does what I do with my body affect anyone whatsoever???

This video truly resonated with me because it’s something I can relate to. I’ve been in a previous relationship where we’d cross each other’s physical boundaries, despite the fact that we both were Christian. I can only thank God that we did not have sex, but I still learned the hard way through that experience. When entering a relationship of any kind, you bring your own dysfunction into the relationship. I’ve acknowledged and repented of my sin. Just as Christ has forgiven me, I learned to forgive myself and the other person. God’s healing me each and every day. I’m at a place of peace in my heart despite the breakup. However, I keep no record of wrongs. Thank you so much again for this video, Paul and Morgan! God is using both of you in amazing ways. I’ll be keeping y’all in my prayers. Loves ❤️☀️

Great reminder of the importance of establishing physical boundaries from the get go when dating. I read an article recently on Desiring God's website that talked about the importance of setting boundaries in what u talk about and how often u talk to each other. For instance, don't talk about sex early into the relationship since it creates unnecessary thoughts. Or limit how long and how often u talk, instead of say texting ALLLLL day, limit it to an hour or so here and there which makes u more intentional in what u choose to talk about. And of course avoid late night communication as u guys have mentioned in a previous video. I'm so glad I found yall's channel, it's very useful in this season of singleness 😊

    • @stefaniep.2457

      Hey Melissa,
I am not Paul or Morgan but maybe I can help a little bit :)
I personally don't think that the line is at a certain age, it is more about personal maturity.
I am 21 years old and started my first relationship about four months ago and there are a few things I am glad I have learned before.
First of all it was important that I learned to like myself. I still struggle with self esteem but I am able to see that I am loveable.
I am also glad that I have learned to concentrate more on giving than on receiving. When I was younger I thought about my future boyfriend as someone who loves me so much that he would do anything for me. Now I got to see that a healthy relationship does not work that way and that I won't get everything I want from him.
I am also glad that I have started to see the difference between wanting and needing something. My partner can't possibly give me everything I want, but it is important that I can tell him what I need.
In the end you have to decide on your own if you feel ready to start a relationship.
Although I wished I had a boyfriend since I was about 12 I thank God that he let me wait until recently.
I want to encourage you to ask him for guidance and to be honest with yourself about whether you feel ready or not.
And until you start dating I can only recommend to enjoy the time you have with your friends, because that is something that you will probably have a lot less once you have a partner.
