I would LOVE for there to be say...3-4 "meta" deck architypes: Cheap DPS, Swarm, Control, and like a "Big Boys" deck. Not sure we can/will ever be able to have that, but we can hope!
When I started like 2 years ago, we had a meta kind of like this: rush/scam decks, Kiryu Control, Bomb Squad, and then the occasional Fliers/High Range decks. But it's kind of been Meta Soup since the Earth buffs, made even more pronounced with the Chibis.
@@Dlark17 we still have rush deck it just a bit different with new unit right now.. kiryu control still exist in somewhere in the meta but it pretty much not useful against people ruinning rainbow mothra.. and bomb squad is pretty much dead at this point and fliers long range unit deck is still exist they just replace with the all mighty desghidorah with pretty much chibi duo and DAB destoroyah or anything else
@justagasterblaster6293 100% agree - "archetypes" exist, but they're not at the same tier that they used to be, and certainly not as defined. Most decks I see seem to be the same handful of pieces with 1-2 flex slots or "special cases."
If there more than card boosts, say each leader had certain units they boosted, then this idea could be a mainstay. Imagine more inactive abilities built into each leader on top of their special move.
Kong is my favorite Kaiju and dude he is insane in Godzilla battle line I love him so much just in general I have always been a fan of Kong ever since I was a kid and hearing that Kong 2024 is one of the best units in the game, makes me so happy. Also love your videos Melee so happy I came across you
I love mg21 but what were they thinking In the movie he was extremely fast and tricky but in the game hes slow and predictable. Its like they made the character before they saw the film I would balance him by making him have stun resist, hes slow with low range that already balances him If we get a 3 cost stun resist/compel resist team buff unit i will rejoice
With how hard it is for most players to get four stars in general, availability is a big problem when it comes to what's meta as well. Especially with lower ranking and FTP players

I like him, and we need more water units. It's been 3 years and the only units with water-related mechanics we have are Biollante and Aqua Mothra. Heck, give us Ebirah too (and I say this as an Ebirah hater)
All I need it to reduce all characters cost -2 Game is tooo freaking slow Also one of best examples is SouthPark Phone Destroyer Mind control, freeze, fast tanks, killer units with tons of pure damage and almost 0 hp, invincibility for 5 secs, pushing away units from leader, leader has a 3 phase of hp which each time kills all enemy units from his own area, longest range attackers, units having buffs from appearance of other units (permanent), multiplying units right in the area But mostly units having their own skills with tapping on them Also story mode
I keep seeing people wanting G21 get stun immunity but I feel like that shouldn’t be the immediate response for buffing a character. Yeah he’s really weak to stun but Mothra 2019 giving the stun immunity is part of the lore of the monster symbiosis. As much as stun immunity is great it hurts being accurate to the characters
12 energy isnt viable tho, even tho you get 2 back from m19 If we get a 3 or 4 cost unit that only removes compel and/or stun itd be perfect imo. Maybe mothra 2024 could do that, would kinda fit the vibe of kxg since she stopped kong and goji from fighting
I’ve gone from getting rank66 every season to getting smashed every single fight can’t even reach rank 60😢 I think there’s a lot of new paid players maybe
@@weebcraft6829 my chibi and mogera are both lvl 1 💀 I missed that season but I have kong only lvl 8 though also missed the destroya season too my lvl 22 minus one just get smashed in a couple seconds
GMats are your friend. What have you been running? I've been steady at R66 the last few months, and even claimed my Bronzezilla this year. I agree, there's definitely more new players, but I've seen less Whales and more 64+ ranks trying to get me with Bomber/Moguera scam. Those players are easy prey - so make sure you've evolved your tactics from R30 (not trying to be condescending - I'm honestly surprised how many MBAW players I see at the end of each season, lol).
Gonna be honest - I dont think Rick was on his game for this. I'm sure he's a chill guy, but he's not really adding much to the discussion, his reads on characters are suuuuper out of date, and he just doesn't have the same handle on game design as Melee. A pretty rough watch/listen, tbh.
So he was lucky to win the G'fest 2024 Sir Melee GBL tournament? He is an active player so I would say he understands the units. He just touched upon many older units that many have used through the years that aren't viable anymore.
