Dan was my absolute favorite UA-camr back in the day. It was around 2013 so I was 9, and I watched him religiously lol. Diamond Dimension was my favorite thing to watch. I am now 20 and revisiting to see how things are going for the person who brought me so much happiness as a child💙

I hardly ever leave comments but this just felt close to home. I watched Dan all the time in middle school and earlier (I am starting college now!) and haven’t given him much thought until this video popped up in my feed. It warms my heart to see this sort of simple era of Minecraft that I and many others are adopting as of late- having fun how it was intended
For anyone wondering what resource pack it is, it's called "Fresh Animations". It works by default with Optifine but if you want to use something else you need 2 mods: Entity Texture Features and Entity Model Features. I don't know if you need both but I always use them together. Or you can get the "Fabulously Optimized Modpack" which includes all the mods that can replace Optifine.
9:15 they gather around the tree and talk about The Legend of the White Coated Villager. Ah yes, the archaeologists discovered an ancient structure with walls made of iron and gold that said villager once called home. Many of the exact details are now lost to time, but it is believed that this villager's name was "Tree-oar-us", hence the tree worship, and the village being built near water. (Oar as in boat oars.) Such a fascinating culture these villagers have.
I believe that you should also use the old minecraft textures. The classics yk. But in the end as long as we have you here with us it doesn't matter. I have been a great fan of you and I am very happy to see that you are still yourself and only changed for the best! 0:41 you can still move villagers but instead of moving in to a one by two trading hall you could instead move them to a custom built village of your own. Its a really fun project that even i did twice.
Idk who noticed but Dan got the rarest item in Minecraft, a large fern, only 3 mins into his world. This item has only an 18% chance to spawn in a specific Taiga Village Chest (the one he so happened to open). Not to mention, Taiga villages are one of three rarest in Minecraft. Also yes, this item is FAR rarer than an enchanted golden apple.

To stop the villagers from coming in your house, you can place the door sideways and the villager will try to open it but it is technically already open so they can’t come in.
I never would've thought of that. Now I can kick out villagers from their very own house and make it mine without having to blockade the door every time! Thanks!
If you're in hard mode, you can also use this trick to stop zombies breaking down your doors, because their AI says it's already open. (Same idea as trapdoors in mob farms)

The reason I haven't enjoyed Minecraft is because when I'm on a realm with others they all go on the grind and it just takes the fun out of it. When I'm mining I wanna explore caves, I don't wanna make massive builds which are a chore, I want low effort farms. You're playing the way I wish I played.

i appreciate dan for many reasons, one being when he plays minecraft, he plays on vanilla, and only adds very small mods or resource packs. he doesn't use shaders, different texture packs. even back in his mod review days, it wasn't "in your face". i love this man, he raised me along with an entire generation of kids.

I hardly ever leave comments but this just felt close to home. I watched Dan all the time in middle school and earlier (I am starting college now!) and haven’t given him much thought until this video popped up in my feed. It warms my heart to see this sort of simple era of Minecraft that I and many others are adopting as of late- having fun how it was intended
For anyone wondering what resource pack it is, it's called "Fresh Animations". It works by default with Optifine but if you want to use something else you need 2 mods: Entity Texture Features and Entity Model Features. I don't know if you need both but I always use them together. Or you can get the "Fabulously Optimized Modpack" which includes all the mods that can replace Optifine.

I believe that you should also use the old minecraft textures. The classics yk. But in the end as long as we have you here with us it doesn't matter. I have been a great fan of you and I am very happy to see that you are still yourself and only changed for the best! 0:41 you can still move villagers but instead of moving in to a one by two trading hall you could instead move them to a custom built village of your own. Its a really fun project that even i did twice.

Idk who noticed but Dan got the rarest item in Minecraft, a large fern, only 3 mins into his world. This item has only an 18% chance to spawn in a specific Taiga Village Chest (the one he so happened to open). Not to mention, Taiga villages are one of three rarest in Minecraft. Also yes, this item is FAR rarer than an enchanted golden apple.
Kinda crazy that… I just finished high school yesterday, and one of my heroes, DanTDM, is still at it, even after all these years…

To stop the villagers from coming in your house, you can place the door sideways and the villager will try to open it but it is technically already open so they can’t come in.

If you're in hard mode, you can also use this trick to stop zombies breaking down your doors, because their AI says it's already open. (Same idea as trapdoors in mob farms)

Yea I'm 40 and after 3 years of not playing. I'm restarting new world with my 11yo, minecraft is so good... i also have it on 360 with no updates.. so its the old old school worl just basic mobs, so nice to play..have fun.

I don’t think that’s true, I’m 90% sure you can get ferns from it was either sheers or silk touch 😭 at least you used to be able too if not now.

The reason I haven't enjoyed Minecraft is because when I'm on a realm with others they all go on the grind and it just takes the fun out of it. When I'm mining I wanna explore caves, I don't wanna make massive builds which are a chore, I want low effort farms. You're playing the way I wish I played.

i appreciate dan for many reasons, one being when he plays minecraft, he plays on vanilla, and only adds very small mods or resource packs. he doesn't use shaders, different texture packs. even back in his mod review days, it wasn't "in your face". i love this man, he raised me along with an entire generation of kids.
