11:21 Those "cinematic bars" are a product of the filmmography process called letterboxing where the laterally compressed digital footage yielded by anamorphic lens cameras are stretched to cinematic aspect ratios (e.g., 2.39:1); emulating the field of view of human eyes which gives people a subconscious feeling of naturality and familiarity with a scene.

Man I wasn't looking, but I needed this right now. I've been practicing my art style for an indie game I plan on developing, but I've been really intimidated by the thought of trying to draw out a full scene. I was worrying maybe I'd use lines wrong, or maybe I'd get the colors off, among many other things. This video just really helped build my confidence. I definitely believe I can do this now, thank you.

Can you do a tutorial on drawing a scene? From app to draw in, to all the assets you want to include in the scene? (ie background forground, enemies... plants, trees, clouds, etc) Would love to learn how to draw these lines correctly to make them look refined for my game

This is a great video! I'm wondering though what an equivalent might be for more of a top down game? I totally get the idea of using these principles of color and distance to create great layering effects, but when you have a top down game with basically a ground and stuff on the ground, I'm not sure how much of this applies.

Hi Thomas! Thanks for the video - it greatly illustrates how professional you are. But as a tutorial, I think it is not really good. Sorry :(
I suck at art - and I don't know the theory of opposite colors. Where did you get colors at 4:55? How do I choose the opposite color for my custom one?
Then a bit at 6:00 about saturation also did not make a lot of sense to me. How did you choose that color?
I also did not get a lot of your manipulations with color overlays and Photoshop in general. But that's probably me being stupid.

Go on linked in, find some artists you like that are in your area and hit them up. You never know what they'll say yes to. I got tutoring from milton j. pool for about $100/mo and even though it was online he set me straight on what to focus on as a beginner.
